Your Memories Here DT Post

I hope ya'll have been enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday. At my house, we're only half done as we'll be celbrating again today and then on Sunday. That being said, this will be another quick post. I've got my first Prima Live class projects to show ya'll today. I've been wanting to do one of these for a while now and decided to jump right on in. This is the fabirc layout one from YMH as I've also been wanting to play with cavas. I am really impressed with all of the goodies that come with the kit as I could make another one and really only need to buy another canvas page. I followed along with the link that YMH listed on the store site and completed this page in under an hour. The only I still need to do is include a little journaling (all of my pages must have a little something written) but I need to get the right pen from my mom. The video was easy to follow and bonus was that I could pause and rewind it when needed. Now that I've done one I can change it up next time is I wanted too. Ya'll have to check out the Prima Live products from YMH as there are some great choices. In fact, I just ordered the Art Try Display kit as my next one :)

WMS Blog Hop

It's time for another Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Hop. This month's theme is Chrismtas. This was one of the first stamp sets I bought from WMS. It's called Seasons of Love and I've used it a few times recently. I also just got the heart nesties to help with the cutting them out. I really want the star dies but am having trouble finding them :( The Merry Christmas background paper and the brad in the heart are both from K & Co (I think) and it is what made me want to go with the more traditional colors: red, green, gold. The gold ribbon is from my stash. I created the strip with a stamp from the set that matches the pattern in the heart (how brilliant is that). I stamped it in the same green I used with the sentiment - Distress Ink's Pine Needles. The heart was stamped in Fired Brick (I think) and then I sponged the edge of it and the main background with a variety of the browns to give it a slightly vintage feel. I also kept it on the simple side to let the image and sentiment shine.

Your Memories Here DT Post

I've got two cards for ya'll today. Both are rather simple in supplies but I do hope you like them. On my Autumn card I used some Glimmer Mist to color my twill and some great Fall-ish paper (all found at YMH). The senitment was created on my computer and I framed it with a fun stamp from WM. The Vanilla background was embossed with a woodgrain folder.

Challenges used:
Cute Card Thursday: anything goes

For my second card I went to Christmas. I used a sentiment from PTI and a Martha Stweart snowflake punch. I painted over the punched snowflakes with Glitter Glam Chandelier for some sparkle. The frame is a Tattered Angels from and the panel in the background was made with some Pearl paint and the Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder. I also added a sweet little pink rose from Prima as a little extra special touch.

Challenges used:
my time to craft: use roses
CCEE: store bought flowers
crafty cardmakers: dry embossing

Enjoy the moment

Here's my last card for the SCS Hope challenge. Nothing like the last minute huh. I have really enjoyed creating all of these wonderful card for such a great reason and hope ya'll have enjoyed them too. I still plan on making a few more the Caring Heart Card Drive since I have until the 15th to do those. For my last card I used a Greeting Farm Anya image. I found inspiration for the colors through the last SCS Hope challenge which required us to go to the Etsy Treasury. My inspiration came from me searching for books and finding this. My card may not be all that soft and romantic (except for maybe the tissue paper flower I made) but I got my colors from there. I had so much fun making this one and evey used some hardware that I've been hording for ever and a day, lol.

The flower I made is tissue paper that I punched out, sprayed with a varity of orange glimmer mist, crinkled up, and kept it all together with a bling brad. I had to be very gentle with it as once the mist was on the paper kept wanting to tear. The flower itself is six layers. I also stamped my sentiment on som vellum so tht the background could still be seen (I am really liking that particular technique).

Anya was colored with my copics and I attempted to give her scarf some texture with the blender pen and her eyes some eye shadow (my first attempt at that). They both turned out subtle, but I think it turned out ok just something I'll need to practice more.

Challenges used:
Cute Card Thursday: gently does it (use vellum and/or tissue paper)
One Stop Craft: embossing (I embossed the damask on the first layer)
Color Me Copic: face/makeup coloring
SCS HYCCT31: The Great Escape (be inspired by a Treasury list at Esty), I was inspired by here.

Tea For Two

Here's my other card I made for my Your Memories Here post. I used PTI's Tea for Two and Damask Designs for this one. The frame is a Tattered Angels one that can be found at YMH and it was sprayed/colored with TA's glimmer mist: Dragonfly and Patina. I also coated the cardstock that I had embossed with the Damask design. I'm really liking this verigated look that the mists creates for me. Behind the frame I did lay down a layer of glue and covered it with glitter. Tomorrow I'll post my last two cards for the SCS Hope Challenges.

Distress Christmas

Z had his procedure today and it went well. We were at the hospital for 5 1/2 hours and he was a trooper the whole time. Once we got home we all took a long nap so I didn't get much done until after the kids went to bed. The two I'm posting right now uses some of my goodies from Your Memories Here (the second one will be in the next post). The first one is a Christmas scene I created (cause when I think of the winter I think Christmas and not much snow due to where I live) use PTI's Take a Bough. The designer paper is from Studio 8's 'Tis the Season collection. The ribbon is some twill. I tried to give it a little distressed feel by sponging the edges with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo.

Challenges Used:
SCS HYCCT30 - sketch
Fussy and Fancy - Winter Wonderland
Charisma - with love at Christmas
CCEE - Winter Scene

Sweet Little Fall Bird

Before I get to the card I would like to ask for some prayers. My youngest (19 months old boy) is getting tubes in and adnoids out tomorrow morning. I know it's a simple procedure but I would still appreciate the prayers. Thanks :)

I got a sweet little card for ya' too. It's a sweet little birdie card that I had lots of fun creating. The sentiment is from Creative Imaginations' Narratives stickers that I added to a little banner I made. The button is from PTI's collection and I tied it on with a little twine. I used Tim Holtz's woodgrain embossing folder to keep with a tree theme.

Pocket card bookmark

Here's another SCS Hope challenge card (seven more to go). I decided to turn the sketch from Mojo Monday into a little pocket for a bookmark. I also tried to use my little sewing machine to make the pocket. Looks like I need to practice sewing some straight lines, lol. The stamped images are from PTI's Flutterby Friend and the sentiment is their Mega Mixed Messages. The colors I used are Garden Green, Night of Navy, and Rose Red.

Challenges used:
Mojo Monday - sketch
Lexi's Creations - anything goes
Crafty cardmakers - stitching

Fall Butterfly

Here's another card for the SCS Hope challenges. Eight more to go :) This one was tricky for me because I knew I wanted to use the ribbon with a button but I really wasn't sure how to create the bow. I ended up doing a faux bow with lots of glue and pinching. The SCS challenge was to use 3 designer paper (I used three different sheets form Basic Grey's Indian Summer collection), 2 embellies (the rhinestones and the button), and one ribbon (the twill). The butterfly and sentiment are both from PTI.

Challenges used:
SCS Hope: HYCCT22, 3...2...1
