It's an Orange kind of day

**Be sure you check out the Breast Cancer Awarenes Hop(e) post below for a chance to win a great prize and to help me donate for Breast Cancer Awareness**

Happy Halloween ya'll!

I have two projects today, and although they both use Halloween colors, they are not Halloween projects. Thought I would change things up some. The first project uses an image from Sassy Studio Designs and a template from there.

The first one is a fun pillow box with a wonderful cupcake image (both from SSD). I used a few challenge to help me put everything together.

Challenges used:
Mojo Monday - sketch
Copic Color Challenge - R20, YG06 (I used YG03 as it was the closest color I had), and E33
Funky Fairy Challenge - touchy feely (lots of glitter, glassy glaze on the cherry, and the faux suede tech.)
My Time To Craft - Rip it up (I had to rip the orange c/s to make the faux suede look)

This next project uses an image from DZ Doodles. The was a one was a challenge due to the colors I was to use and the limited images I have. I really need to make some purchases from them. I decided to use the mouse ornament I have. I really like how it turned out, but now I have to decide how to use it since it's not really a Halloween card. Maybe I will still use it for a Christmas card. What do you think?

Challenges used:
Ditgital Tuesday challenge - color challenge: Kraft, Orange, & any other color
DZ Doodles - color challenge: Orange, Black
Paper Take Weekly - Spots n Stripes
Character Cafe - use papers only from Halloween paper pack & glitters (The paper came from an old SU! Halloween pack and the glitter is on the stars, eyes, nose)

Breast Cancer Awareness Hop(e)

If you came here from Martha's blog then you are in the right spot. If you didn't, then you will want to start at the beginning of the hop: Michelle in Boise. This is a hop for hope for breast cancer cure and to support those who have been affeccted by this cancer in some form. Everyone involved has done a fabulous project using Breast-Cancer-Awareness-Month-related items: pink, ribbon, sentiments, images, etc. For my project I used a wonderfully new image from Whimsie Doodles digi: Hope Fights and all proceeds will go to Breast Cancer Research. The sketch I used is from Midnight Madness. For every comment left on my blog I will donate $1 and choose a lucky gal to win a surprise gift from me sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs. This will close at midnight on October 31st.

Sassy Studio Design has a wonderful digi stamps and sentiments too, and Lindsay will donate a dollar ($1) for every image sold too. (could one of these be the surprise?)

Now go on over to Laura K. and discover what wonderful project she has for you. Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a surprise goodie and to help me raise some money.

Grateful

**please make sure you come back after 5:00 am on the 30th for a special Breast Cancer Awareness blog hop and a chance to not only help me donate some money but have a chance to win a little something from me**

Just a quick Sassy Studio Design card. For this card I used the Giving Thanks image and several challenges. She was lots of fun to color and is quickly becoming on of my Sassy favs. The flower I made from a small scallop punch I have. I cut out three scallop circles and cut slits in them almost to the center so they became flower petals.

Challenges used:
Just Us Girls - 3D flower
Crazy for Challenges - use three different shapes (I used recangles, circles and the blue paper is a square)
Stampin' Sisters in Christ - grateful/thankful post

Sassy Studio Designs Challenge plus an extra

This week's SSD challenge is a CASE challenge with a twist...it must be Halloween. Lindsay got permission from a Sassy customer for us to use her card for our challenge.

The card chosen was the winner of the Halloween color challenge. I just love the layout and of course those Halloween colors. It was funny how the CASE card used the same image that I had already picked out and printed hoping that it would fit the challenge because it was the same image she used: Bewitched cameo image fro SSD. Whenever I use this image I seem to always add bling to her with my Shimmerz paint. This is also the first time I used her (or any image with hair to color) and added color streaks in the hair. What do ya'll think...did I do ok? I used several challenges for this one as well. I don't know why the purple stip turned out so light in the picture because IRL it matches the lighest shard of purple on my witch.

Challenges used:
SSD - CASE challenge
Our Creative Corner - Favorite movie (I have so many, but during this time of the year I always have to watch Hocus Pocus)
Cinema Saturday - Hocus Pocus (one of my favorite Halloween movies)

For the "plus an extra" card I used the pumpkin from the Fairytale Accessories set from SSD. The sentiment I typed myself and printed. I kept the card simple so that the image was the focus. However, to bling it up some to fit the sentiment a little better, I added small rhinestones to the center of each scallop.

Creative Belli Challenge

I am so excited to let ya'll know that I have been asked to be a Guest Designer for the Creative Belli challenge. This is such a fun Challenge blog, and I really love how you have two weeks to complete their challenge (time that I seem to need with my life). I discovered Creative Belli last spring and do as many of their challenges as I can.

This week's sponsor is Sherrod Studio and the challenge is to use Raffia or twine on your project.

The image I used is from Sherrod Studio's Harvest Blessing set, and I went for a more of a monochromatic scheme (cream/browns) since the pilgrams were not all that colorful. I kept the card simple so that my image really stood out and the sentiment that comes with the set too. The pop of color in her basket gives the card a little something unexpected. The sketch is from Friday Sketchers.

Hooray for Holidays

I've got a couple of Sassy Studio Designs (SSD) holiday cards for ya'll today. The first is featuring not only a new image from Lindsay but a new template as well. The image is featuring a Sassy girl with a rather cold man...a SNOWman (I'm so cleaver). I thought this image went perfectly with the template too...a snowglobe. You can layer all kinds of goodies into this template and use it for any season/reason but I chose the standard winter scene. Both of these will be avaliabe on November 1st over at SSD. Once I layered it all the way I liked it, I printed it out and colored the image before I cut the whole thing out. I really wanted her to stand out, so I used my purples. I even matched up her 'man' to match. Once I was finished, I cut out the card and then painted the globe part with my Pixie Dust shimmerz paint (I so need to buy more of this stuff) to give it a 'just shaken' snowy/sparkly feel. I really love how the whole thing turned out. I did use a challenge for this card from Dare U 2 Digi: shape cards

For the second card I went with Halloween (you know, that holiday that is THIS Saturday). I used the caludren image for SSD's Halloween accessories collection. The sentiment I typed up on my own and is from the witches in Hamlet. The card was kept simple mostly because I just seem to be in a CAS (clean and simple) kind of mood. A couple of challenges were used for this card too.

MyGrafico Challenge Day

Time for another MyGrafico Challenge. This week the challenge is to create a thank you card using some dry embossing on your project. The set we got to play from is called Mix and Match Stems. For my card I used my Cuttlebug for the dry embossing and changed the image from black to a shade of green (very close to SU!'s Garden Green). I am really liking these clean and simple cards and thought that this image went well with that. After I printed it, I painted some Pixie Dust Shimmerz paint to give it some bling/frost to help give it a more winter feel. I totally spaced that this was suppose to be a Thank you card, so my sentiment reads 'peace'. It just as easily could be changed to Thanks or even thank you though. I love how this could be an any occasion card (including Christmas). The ribbon is some shimmery white threaded through a holder from SU's Hodgepodge collection (silver).

Be sure you go over to the MyGrafico Challenge blog and link up your creation for a chance to win. And don't forget about the big sale that's going to start on the 29th over at MyGrafico.

I'm in the Holiday mood

I know Halloween isn't even here yet, but I got in the mood to create two winter cards. I used two of the newest images from Sassy Studio Designs (Cocoa Carol and Trimming the Tree). They are both so much fun to create with (ok, so they ALL are...hee hee hee). No challenges (except sketches) were used. Are ya' shock (I know I am).

For the first card, I used Cocoa Carol and Mojo Monday's Sketch. The paper is from Basic Grey's Eskimo Kissees and I picked the more traditional Holiday colors for this one. I was loving this card until I colored the chair. I'm just not feeling the color or the look of it. The colors I used are copic's G20, 21, 24 but I really need to either buy more greens or learn how to color with these better.

The second card is a little non-traditional (at least the colors for me are) and I used SSD's Trimming the Tree with Tuesday Morning Sketches. I also paired it up with PTI's Take a Bough for the hanging ornements. I had lots of fun with this one and am really beginning to like these colors together for the holidays. I used some Pixie Dust Shimmerz paint for my bling because you can't have a Christmas tree without the bling.

Mo's Digital Pencil Day

Today I thought I would share with ya'll two cards I made using Mo's Digital Pencil images. I used a few challenges for them including Mo's DP2 Challenge for the boo card. It's amazing how many ideas I have and just not enough time to make them all. Enjoy these cards.

The first card using the sweet boy image called Take A Break. I modified the sketch just a tad to work with the baseball thing I had going on. I was going for a baseball feel with the background paper I made and to continue with that theme I decided to make the sentiment into a mini baseball too. Not really sure if the idea really came through though. The colors came from a color challenge and a picture inspiration. The two really worked together for me. I know baseball is more of a spring sport, but my DS loves to throw a ball around no matter the season. The colors muted with the cream color reminds me of fall where I live. The sky can be so blue/teal some days and the few leaves I see changing colors tend to have a redish hue. The cream just makes things cozy, like autumn.

Challenges used:
Sketch Saturday
Just Us Girls - color challenge
Copic Buzz - no designer paper allowed
Stamp, Scrap, & Doodle - picture inspiration

For this second card I used the Boo image from Mo's Digital Pencil. It just seemed like such a fun image. The DP2 challenge was to create a project where you used colors of Autumn and only two embellishments. Well, you can't have Autumn without Halloween and so this card was born. The colors came from the holiday, and the embellies are the ribbon and the brads. To make the white not be as stark I colored over the whole image (background included) with shades of grey. The darker greys went closer to the image while I feathered it out the lighter ones.

Challenges used:
DP2 Challenge - use colors that remind you of Fall and only 2 embellishments
Crazy 4 Challenges - sketch
PaperPlay Challenges - favorite embellishment (I have a thing for ribbon right now)

Just a touch of orange

Today's card for you is a Halloween card. I did this for several challenge and used one of the Sassy cameos from Sassy Studio Designs. I wanted to do another black and white coloring image and decided on the Sassy Halloween Sourceress Cameo. The background is stamped with the spider web from SU!'s web wishes in versamark and embossed with Hologram Highlights and the bottom is embossed with a Cuttlebug emboss thingy. The touch of orange is the ribbon as I thought it would look good with just a slpash of color. The only thing I think it's missing is the sentiment, but I can't figure out where to put it.

Challenges used:
Stamping with fun
Copic Creations
Hope Stamps Eternal Cupcake Challenge
Clean and Simple Stamping Sketch

MyGrafico Challenge Day

toaster close up

This week's MyGrafico Challenge is to make a retro inspired card/LO/project that incorporates polka dots and the colors red, white, and turquoise. I found the quote on-line and just typed it up and printed it onto cardstock. I found it funny for some reason. The image is from MyGrafico's Vintage Appliance digi stamps.

My first Victoria Case image

Copic Buzz's challenge this week was to make a project using this fun Victoria Case image. I've been eyeing her images for a while now and love the playfulness they have. This one is my first, but I can assure you it won't be my last. She was lots of fun to colors and of course I had to bling her up since she is a fairy. I painted her wings and dress with pixie dust shimmerz paint and colored the center of the flowers with Buttermilk Spica and the blue punched flowers with Baby Blue Spica. I had to alter the Copic Color Challenge just a tad as I don't have B05 or G02, so I used B04 and G20 (I only have G20, 21, and 24) I am not real happy with the way the leaf turned out though. I need to practice using those colors.

Challenges used:
Copic Buzz - Victoria Case image
Truly Scrumptious Challenge - sketch
ABC challenge - F is for Flying
Copic Color Challenge - G02, B05, R27

Blue Kind of Shopping day

Just a quick post of using one of SSD's newest images: Shopping Sandy. I guess I was in a blue mood when I colored her so I just went with it. The saying is one I typed up on my own and reads 'The Best Deal'. I figured on the inside I could write some like 'is you as my friend'. I painted some pixie dust shimmerz paint on her scarf and under shirt and sprayed baby's breath on the card base to give it some extra sparkle.

It's a Sassy Holiday Release

If ya'll missed the Sassy Studio Design party last night, then you missed out on a great time. However, you can now get the SSD goodies yourself now and join the fun next time. My card today used not only a new image, but a new template from the Sassy Store (which you can now buy). The image is called Trimming the Tree and the card base is from the ornament template that Lindsay has created (as well as many other templates). I used the ornament base (which comes two to a sheet and fits 8.5 x 11 cardstocks and makes the standard cards), the ornament overlays (she got four of these onto the page) shrunk down just a hair to fit inside (I just printed it onto some patterend paper) and the ornament topper. I shrank the image and put it over the overlay to make sure it would fit inside before I printed it. Once I colored the image I cut it out and put her on dimmentionals to give more depth to the card. I also added some sparkle and Glossy Accents to the star and ornaments to give it some sparkle. I found a great quote from Dr. Suess's Grinch and printed that out for my sentiment. Since I outlined the ornament base in glitter I thought I would do the same thing to the sentiment. I also mounted it on Summer Sun c/s to complete the goldish/yellow triangle/circle I had going on.

Be sure you check out the SSD blog to kept track of the latests Sassy news and challenges. Also, check out the rest of the Sassy Sevens to see what they have created with this fun new release.
