As for a family moment, I learned how to get my oldest to play outside without me: get a dog! We watched my parents' dog Thursday night until today, and A would take her outside and stay out their with her. No asking if I wanted to go (which I didn't as it's been 100 degrees lately). Early in the morning they would stay out there for about 30 min. If they went any other time during the day then it was more like 5 min due to the heat. A loves that dog and it looks like we'll be getting one ourselves by this time next year.

Copic Buzz Challenge #2
Blog candy winner listed in the post below this one.

I used the CBC challenge blog for this card. I'm still working on my card for the first challenge, but I at least finished the card for this one :) I used a digi stamp from Nin'a blog. This was the first time I used copics to color a flower. In fact, this may be the first time I EVER colored a flower (and have that flower be the main focus of the card). For the background on both the flower piece and the quote, all I did was color it a soild color and then went over it with the colorless blender pen in circles. I really like the effect it produced. It wasn't near as hard as I thought though. (Which is one reason why I LOVE my copics - they make my coloring look good!)
In the up-close picture, you can see just a hint of a shadow. The reason for the pop up flower is that I didn't like the outline I gave it at first so I just cut it out. Then I reprinted the flower just slightly larger, colored it with the dark pink and green and then went over the whole thing with a gray to produce a shadow. I do want to point out that I didn't color the whole flower, just the edges as the rest you wouldn't be able to see unless someone took it apart. No sense in wasting ink right ;)

A Little Sneak Peek
My blog candy is closed and I will announce the winner tomorrow. Can't wait to see who the lucky winner will be. Even if you don't win my candy here's a blog that has some really cute stamps that'll go to a lucky person.
In the mean time I am going to leave you with a little card tease. This month and last I've been working on applying to be on some Design Teams (DT) and have been wanting to let them see the projects first. Because of that, I am waiting until July 1st to start posting them here. I've been using new techniques and really making a point to try new things. Hopefully I'll have some good news about some DTs to post on July 1st as well :)

{SAS}sy Blog Hop & Blog Candy
If my blog is the first place you have come welcome! You probably got to mine from Jennifer. To make sure you don’t miss out on any of the great {SAS}sy blogs I suggest you start at the beginning of the {Blog Hop} by visiting at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking and then work your way around the rest of the blogs.
I have two projects for you using papers and embellies from the Scrap Attack Scrabooking store.
The first is a layout I did using Maya Road Diagonal Dots clear ribbon and Queen & Co's Felt Fusion White Star Swirl. I used my copics to color the clear ribbon the shade of blue I needed. Lots of fun to do but you do have to be careful of the streaks. The felt was great because I didn't have to cut out all the details and it gave my layout the detail I wanted without going overboard. I can't wait to use what I have left over on another layout and even some cards. The papers are just scraps I had laying around.
The second project I did was a clear card using one of my new favorite stamp sets - Hangin' Loose with Kona from Electric Paperie. Isn't he just the cutest. I used Fancy Pants Summer Soiree's Wave and Lounging paper. I love how the orange looks like a sunrise with the beams shining down on Kona and I cut out a 'wave' from from the Wave paper to mimic a larger wave for Kona to be surfing on. I outlined the wave and the edge of the sunbeams using my Souffles. I am loving these pens!
Hopefully you're enjoying the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking {Blog Hop} today! There's definitely a lot of inspiration showing up on everyone’s blogs. You probably got to mine from Jennifer. Your next stop on the hop is Lara. There are 18 total blogs so make sure you hit them all!
Scrap Attack Scrapbooking will be donating prizes from all comments left on all 16 blogs so make sure and comment so you are eligible to win! You have until Midnight on June 22nd.
Your comments here will also put you in the hat for my own blog candy. Winner will be announced on the 24th.

Here's a promised picture
I'm sorry I didn't get to post yesterday, but we had gotten some really bad news about DH's boss and her family. I won't go into details here, but I will ask for your prayers as they really could use them right now. God knows why.
I've been working on some more DT submissions and don't want to show those just yet, but I did manage to get a layout done that I can show off :)
Everything came from a monthly kit I had gotten from Scraptastic back in Feburary. I just now got around to using it. I am loving this kit concept as it makes it so much easier to pack from scrapping get-together I go to once a month. It's also good for quicky pages as I don't have to think about what goes together :) The stamp you see in the bottom right corner is PTI's Fancy Flourishes.

Be sure you stop back by on Thursday this week as I will be part of the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking's Blog Hop. There will be prizes :)

Pictures coming soon...
This was a busy weekend for us and Hobby Night was more talk than crafting for me, so I didn't get near as much done as I wanted to. I did finish one layout, three cards, and am currently working on a project though. I am hoping to take pictures of all but the project tomorrow. If I am able to then I can post a picture or two in the next couple of days. We are starting to get into a groove I think and that is helping me a lot. I'll have more to say in the next post :)

Let's Get Hopping!
Blog Hopping that is :) On June 18th Scrapattack Scrapbooking is hosting one and it sounds should be tons of fun. All you have to do is visit the participating blogs, leave some comments, & your name will be put in some drawings for some great prizes. Come play along! My blog will be in the hop and I may even have some of my own blog candy to give away (hint, hint :) ).
And while you're at it -- Kelzpop has been hosting SSU classes over at Scrapattackscrapbooking's Message Board. I was able to participate in the first round and had so much fun learning some photo techniques. This second round is all about techniques that can be used for scrapping (and even card making). Hope to see you there!

Getting Ready for Hobby Night
I don't have anything craft to post tonight but that is because I've been getting ready for Hobby Night at my church. I hope to get lots done tomorrow night (although I won't be able to post any of them until July as they are for a DT call that I'm toying with applying). I do plan on getting a card done all and that I will be able to post :) If you haven't noticed, I have added some blog candy opportunities for ya'll to win in my sidebar. LOTS of goodies there.
This is the first week A has been home all day instead of in daycare (school) and so far we're doing pretty good. Yesterday was a big day as we went to the library and got him his first library card and even checked out a couple of books. So am going to be scrapping that moment :)
I'll leave ya'll with pictures of my prep work (really not as hard as I thought since I'll be using a couple of kits I have so all the pieces are already together).

Sandcastles and a completed Project
I can't believe it has been over a week since my last post. I am so sorry about that. During that time I did manage to finish a project that I've had since February (more about that later), get the craft room a little more organized, and hang with the family. On Saturday we went to the beach to see the sandcastle competition that my brother and SIL were a part of. It took us forever just to get there, A wanted to be held the whole time (couldn't blame him though as it was super crowded), and we were only there for maybe an hour. Better planning will go into it next year (and more people) though as it was really fun.
Here's what my brother's team came up with:

And here is one of my favorites (I thought of one of my friends as Knight is her last name):
Now for my project :) I've had this project I bought from Scrap-tastic since Feb. and have only now gotten around to finishing it. It was a canvas project and I had so much fun with it that I am going to make another one for Z. The directions that come with it were great and easy to follow as they were done as a video, so that meant that I could stop and rewind when I needed too :)
