More DT submissions

I just submitted my work for four more Design Team (DT) calls. I don't think I'll hear from those calls until sometime next week. Here's hoping I get some good news :) I will post pictures of what I submitt no later than May 6th just so ya'll can see what went. I also have two more I'll be trying for but they aren't due until the end of May and the end of June. After all of that creating and putting together my craft room looks like a mess. Guess I'll be spending the rest of the week cleaning it up :)

I really should go now as I didn't know it was almost 10 pm and with a newborn I need to get my sleep :)

My first Design Team Call Submission

I have been toying with the idea of applying for a Design Team for several crafting sites for over a year now. Some of these sites are on-line stores while others are sketch/challenges blogs. I took the plunge today and submitted to my first one. It was very nerve wrecking but I did have fun making the cards for them. I have a few more that I am wanting to submit to as well. I am going to try my best and just have fun. I will let ya'll know if I make any of the teams. Until then, wish me luck.

I was able to scrap

I was able to finish my last challenge (the bottom picture of the two-page layout) for Scrap-tastic and I even got a digital page (top picture) done too. Now I have to clean the craft room as it looks like a tornado has hit it. Paper and embellies everywhere. I am also looking at finishing a project I started as well as some new challenges. Enjoy these last few pages I was able to complete.

Forgot what it's like w/ a newborn

I have so forgotten how little time I get to myself with a newborn. DH was been WONDERFUL with helping me and making sure that I don't push myself too much, but I'm still struggling with finding "my time". I have managed to finish one scrapbook page and I have a double-page spread that I HAVE to get done by this Sat. I have the pictures printed for the spread and most of the journaling done but that is it. I don't have a mask for it yet or colors chosen or any embellies picked out. There are only three days left (counting today) for me to get it done and my energy level is very low.

The boys are doing well. A is still struggling with some potty issues, but we are hoping that the plan we started last Friday will kick in and work for him. He is also struggling at night now and we're not really sure why. He all of the sudden must sleep with the door open. My little guy who use to sleep so well has done a 180 and we are trying to figure out why. Ah, the life of having more than one child begins and there will only be more surprises to come I am sure. With God's help we will survive and even enjoy the ride.

And baby makes 4

Here is a picture of Baby Z. We have all been having to adjust to having a newborn in the house. During the day it goes pretty well, but at night when it's time for A to go to bed is when the fun begins. I use to have a child who went to bed pretty easily and stayed there alseep until at least 6 am if not later. That has since changed. We are still working on how to handle the sleeping at night to allow mommy and daddy to at least get some sleep. Overall though A has been really good with his new baby brother. He really likes to help and has already showered the baby with kisses :)

As for those who have been wondering about the American Idol challenge over at Scrap-tastic.com, I did make it to round 6. I had to use my free pass though for that challenge as round 6 was due tonight and I am just now seeing my craft room. What that means is that I will have to complete the 6th and 7th challenge by next Tuesday. Here's hoping that I'll be able to do that.

I'll end this with the layout from challenge 5. For this challenge I had to choose a song and create a layout that "feels" like the decade the song is from. I also had to use something that would symbolize the song and have stiching. I choose "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree" from the 1940's as that was big among the miliatry couples since I used a picture of my dad's parents from that time. I loved how I was able to use the story of them marrying according to my grandfather for my journaling. The apple tree was the symbol and the stiching was the red and blue on the twill that I did as well as on the flag.
