Pinterfail?

Oh Pinterest, why so addictive? I have spent hours on Pinterest pinning other people's creations and sketches, thinking: I should try that, that looks really cool. However, I've never actually used my pins for LOs. What a waste! So I have a fair bit of pins on my board, but I settled for the first sketch/idea with one photo that I liked (https://nl.pinterest.com/pin/44191640072310745/, it's a sketch by Lanette Erickson).

I made a little sketch on a bit of scrap paper and left that next to my LO in progress. The background paper has been in my stash forever, I can't bring myself to purge good quality paper (the flimsy stuff went out recently), even though the front design is way too bold and big for my taste. I can't tell you how often I picked this up and thought: I really want to do something with this, I really like the pattern! Yes, in theory, but it never seemed to work with what I was scrapping. However, when I flipped it around.......this is perfect for my style! Lesson learned :)

Oh yeah, with regard to the sketch: I really only used it as inspiration, as you can see I switched up the title and an embellishment cluster and I journaled straight on the page instead of on strips. It really feels like my layout, even though the original idea might have come from someone else.

A Sketchy Post

Good morning everyone!

Almost weekend, can't wait :) If you were worried about my post title, no need, I'm not involved in any dodgy business but just referring to the Delightful Challenge theme this week, asking you to use the SKETCH provided to inspire your crafty projects. Those of you who've been to this blog before know how I feel about sketches and again I had trouble to keep adhering to the sketch. I have no idea why it is so hard for me to do, but sketches are always the most difficult theme for me. Anyway, I did manage to make a card, but I also managed to give my own spin to it:

If you enjoy using sketches or if you are sketch-impaired like me but still enjoy a challenge, come and share your work with us!

A Ditzy Sketch

<<This is my second post for the day, You can find my CCAYR DT post below!>>

Hello again crafty friends!

Today is also the start of a new Delightful Challenge, which is a "Sketch" this time! If you've been following my blog, you know how I feel about sketches, they're not my favourite challenge type. But I do think I managed to adhere to the challenge, well almost at least. I didn't include a bow, I don't know why but I can't seem bows to work on my projects. They make everything bulky, they fall off, there's glue everywhere......they just don't do it for me. So I replaced it with some chipboard. Oh, and i just realised I didn't mat the sentiment like in the sketch either, so I wasn't as good as I thought I was ;)

I also had the wonderful idea to turn the sketch into a gatefold, forgetting that if I would cut away the bottom bit of the sideflaps the card wouldn't be able to stand! So I made a little easel style stand from a cutoff piece of Kraft and stuck that on the back. Problem solved :)

Materials:
* Kraft CS
* Digital Delights Ditzy Reindeer & Circular Christmoose sentiment, coloured with Promarkers & Spectrum Noirs
* Hely Cuppleditch Pepper's Christmas Party DPs
* Red, white & black ink
* Make Me Oval die & Rounded corned punch
* SEI Christmas Mint Chiplet
* Daisy & Dandelion 'All Wrapped Up' Wishes sentiment stamp
* Cosmic Shimmer Red Fire Twinkles
