Hi everyone,
Last year, I participated in a Lasting Memories challenge and based on that they invited me to be their guest designer for 4 weeks, how cool is that! Today the first challenge is up and it was a tricky one! The idea is that you use at least 4 supplies that start with the letters in the word L-O-V-E. I've used Letter stickers, Orange-Red colour, Vellum and Enamel dots. I also dug out some really old snowflake brads I still had in my stash. These pictures are very recent of our daughter's first encounter with snow; she wasn't all that impressed but we got some lovely images! I plan to make another page with photos of all of us.
Challenges
* Fairytale Challenges (Colourful Snowflakes)
* Alphabet Challenge (Winter Walk)
* Kreative Inkauf (Snowflakes)
* If You Give a Crafter a Cookie (Inspiration Cookie; I've used the snow theme and colour scheme)
* Crafter's Cafe (Inspiration Picture; I've used the snow and outdoor theme)

First Smiles
Hi all,
There's still time to play along with the current Pinspirational Challenge. This is the photo we are taking our inspiration from this time:
A lovely winter scene, but I used it for a different kind of project:
I let myself be inspired by the colours and textures; using the blue from the cups, stars, wood from the background and branch-style stitching. Once I did that, I felt it was a little too much samey in colour (I love working with contrasts). I came across the awesome chipboard piece that fitted perfectly between the branches I had already stitched and it really went from there! This was our little girl in January, when she just started to smile. I can't believe she turned1 last week, what a milestone! Happy birthday, sweetheart :)
Hope you can join use this fortnight, our sponsors this time are A Random Fan and Sherri Baldy. In the meantime, I am off to the little wean's birthday party!
Challenges:
* CRAFT Challenge (Not a Card) 30/11
* Crafty Boots (Trees) 5/12
* Crafty Cardmakers (Anything but a Card) 12/12
* Glitter 'n Sparkle (Blue and White) 5/12
* Pile It On (Two Patterned Papers) 11/12

Winter Wonderland
Hello everyone!
Just two more sleeps until the big guy in the red suit arrives, how exciting! We are celebrating this year with the in-laws but decided to buy all the presents there so we don't have to drag them along with us on the way there. It sounds like a great idea now, but I really hope it has worked out because I can't imagine anything worse that having just a few days before Christmas and realising the presents you wanted to buy are nowhere to be found in the shops! Nothing like a good last-minute Christmas panic ;)
Just before we start celebrating, I want to share Ooh La La's last challenge for this year with you. The theme is "Winter Wonderland". I am sure that, like me, you have been working on snowy or icy projects (and perhaps still working? I hope it's not Christmas cards, poor you!) that you can share with us in the challenge. I've used an image from my fave OLL CD, Yesterday's Memories, I really can't get enough of this CD.
Materials:
* Ooh La La Snow Scene image, inside sentiment and DP from the Yesterday's Memories CD
* Dovecraft Noel DP
* Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink
* Joy Crafts Flower punch
* Eline's Winterhuis Christmas stamp set
* Pearls from stash
As I'm not sure if I will make it back on the blog before the 25th, I would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a crafty new year ! May your crafty stash be abundant and your crafty mojo always on :)
Challenges:
* Pattie's Creations (Snowy Scene within the Image)
* Songbird (Merry Christmas Everybody)
* Creatieve Zebra (Kerst)
* Ladybug (Christmas/Winter)
* Oldie but a Goodie (Winter)
* Cards Galore (Christmas)
* A Little Bit Crazy (Christmas Cheer)
* Shelly's Images (Welcome Winter & Snowflakes)
* Card & Scrap (Christmas)
* Crafty Calendar (Cold and Frosty)

An Apple a Day......
Hi all,
This week at Delightful Challenges, the challenge theme is "Red, White & Blue", no doubt linking up with the 4th of July. As we don't celebrate that here in the Netherlands, I decided to make a Get Well Soon card using the lovely apple image. You know, an apple a day keeps the doctor away ;) The tear-shaped dew drops looked a bit like apple seeds to me, so I added it on there, even though the apple isn't cut in half.
I had to be in the city for a graduation ceremony of some of my students and on the way back I popped into a craft store. I bought this lovely set of stencils and had a play with one of them (the honeycomb) straight away on this card. I like the look and think I will be using it quite a few times! The set also includes handwriting, paint splashes and a brick wall stencil.
Materials:
* Digital Delights Apple digi, coloured with Promarkers & Spectrum Noirs
* Co'ordinations Vintage Collection Retro Mod Squad CS
* Panduro Design Stencil, using Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink
* Recollections Washi Tape
* Tear Dew Drops from Robin's Nest
* Personal Impressions Sentiment Stamp
* Red Glitter from stash
Challenges:
* ABC Challenge (Red, White & Blue)
* Creative Card Crew (No Designer Paper)
* Paper Playtime (Red, White & Blue)
* Created with Love Challenge (4th of July or Red, White & Blue)
* Oozak (Anything Goes with a Sentiment)
* My Heart Pieces (Use a Digi)
* Simply Create Too (Use the Colours in Your Flag)
* Get Inky (Red, White & Blue)
* Hobbycutz (Anything with H) Honeycomb pattern stencil
* Creative Inspirations Paint (Red, White and Blue)

Easter's on its Way
Hi everyone,
Another post from me today, as PCD is also starting their new challenge today. We want to see your projects that tie in with the theme of " Easter on its Way". I decided to make a little gift bag that I can fill with some lovely chocolate eggs later as a cute Easter gift. I don't know if the content will last long though......chocolate's never safe when I'm around ;) I used a hand-written sentiment, as I quickly realised I don't actually own any stamps relating to Easter and I didn't have enough time to print those out that came with the digi set. I decided I like the homey feel of it though, so I am leaving it this way :)
Materials:
* Kraft Sandwich Bag
* PCD Easter Egg set
* DCWV Mango Frost DPs
* Memories Direct Flowers & brad
* Distress Tool & Tumbles Glass and Victorian Velvet Distress Ink
* Sakura Gel Glitter pen
* Ribbon, twine, button and pearls from stash
Challenges:
* I Love Promarkers (Lace and/or Pearls)
* Oldie but a Goodie (Bright Colours) I've been hoarding these DPs for years now, have never used them!
* Crafty Ribbons (Anything Goes with Ribbon)
* Aud Sentiments (Easter)
* Bearly Mine (Anything Goes)
* Avadares (Easter or Spring)
* Simon Says Stamps (Anything Goes)
* Gingerloft (Ribbons & Bows)
* My Grafico (Anything Goes)
* Cute Card Thursday (Something Old) I've been hoarding these DPs for years now, have never used them!

Saturated Pastels
Good morning my fellow crafty persons!
Today is another grey one here in the Netherlands, I have been having problems getting up every day this week. A lovely warm bed and an extra snooze just seems too inviting for me to jump out of bed and get on with my day. But it had to be done, so here I am :)
I am sharing a challenge card with you for Fab 'n Funky today, our lovely Sue has set the theme of 'Pastel Colours'. We are sponsored by Saturated Canary, who is offering two digis to the winner, and the DT also got to pick an image to work with. I picked Naveah, such a lovely dreamy image, what a lovely floaty dress. As usual with Saturated Canary images, there is an abundance of hair to colour, which I think I didn't totally do justice, wasn't pleased with how that bit of the card turned out. I do like the shading on her dress though, I've done worse ;) I also decided to add a little hand stitching around the edges, I think it looks great but it was a hell of a lot of work and fiddly too! Anyway, I love how this card turned out overall, I can use it for so many occasions, including perhaps Mother's Day for my MIL.
Materials:
* Saturated Canary Navaeh, coloured with Promarkers & highlighted with a Sakura Glitter Pen
* EMP Vintage and K&Co Ancestry.com Mat Pad DPs, slightly distressed with Distress Tool and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink
* Wooden butterflies from local stores (Xenos and Pipoos)
* Personal Impressions sentiment stamp
* Scalloped circle punch
* Pearls from stash
Challenges:
* Cutie Pie (Pretty Pastels)
* One Stitch at a Time (Use a Digi)
* Color Me Creative (Girly Time)
* Simply Create Too (Mother's Day/For a Female)
* LEJ (For a Lovely Lady)
* Whoopsi Daisy (Add a Sentiment)
* Paper Playtime (Sentiments Stamps)
* Tuesday Throwdown (Thinking of You)
* Little Miss Muffet (Blue & Yellow)
* Sassy Studio (Real or Faux Stitching)

It's Winter Time!
Good morning all!
I've been back at work for a couple of days now and I seem to be getting back in the swing of things. Also, all the DTs have started up again, so it's all hands on deck to try and make my projects on time!
The new Fab 'n Funky challenge is starting today and our theme this week is "Winter"! We are being sponsored by DigiDarla, the images we are working with this week are therefore from their catalogue. I decided to use Snowtime Baby Bunny 5, such a cute image! I've been delving in my scrappy shoebox for this one again and thoroughly enjoyed fitting it all together for this Christmas card. Yes, I know it's a bit early to start thinking about Christmas again, but why not, cards keep a long time and then I don't have to worry about it later on in the year so much :) I'm pretty pleased with the card, except for the sentiment; it's not quite as clear as I would have liked with the dark blue Distress ink. Hope you like it too and come and join us in the challenge this week!
Materials:
* Create & Craft CS
* Digi Darla Snowtime Baby Bunny 5 digi, coloured with Promarkers & Spectrum Noirs
* Studio Light DP scraps
* Docrafts Country Companions "For Someone Special" DP
* Scalopped circle & Star Border punches
* Black & Silver ink, Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink
* Eline's Winterhuis Sentiment Stamp set, Marianne Design Letters & More Background Stamps
* Gems from stash
Challenges:
* Card Mania (Winter Wonderland)
* Gingerloft (Christmas or Winter)
* The House that Stamps Built (Make it Snow)
* Crafty Hazelnut (Any Christmas Card that doesn't feature Santa)
* QKR Stampede (Anything Goes)
* Card Crafter's Circle (There's No Business Like Snow Business)
* 2 Sisters (Anything Goes)
* Forever Friends (Anything Goes)
* Emerald Fairies (Celebrations)
* Simply Create Too (Let it Snow)

Buttoning Up @ Christmas
Happy Monday Everyone!
It's time for another Platypus Creek Challenge, themed "Christmas with Buttons and a Bow"! This time, I've used PCD Holly Leaves to accentuate a main image on my card and replaced the berries with some lovely buttons I recently picked up at my local craft store. The holographic DP is also a new impulse buy, I was standing in line for the cash register at a department store when I noticed these beauties glistening on a shelf nearby. There a tons of sheets with different colours and patterns, so expect them to feature in more of my Christmas Cards designs! The only drawback is that the paper is so thin, it's difficult to cut straight with my cutting tool. What do you think?
Materials:
* PCD Holly Leaves
* Snowman & sentiment stamp from unknown set, stamped with black ink and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink
* DPs from stash
* Marianne Letters & More Background stamp
* Dovecraft Back to Basics Christmas Vintage button set, stitched with metallic thread from a local craft store (Pipoos)
* Create & Craft ribbon
Challenges:
* Charisma Cards (Keep It Cool)
* 4 Crafty Chicks (Winter Wonderland)
* Crimbo Crackers (Snowmen)
* Crafty Pad (It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas)
* Creatalicious Challenges (Winter)
* Crafty Catz (Sparkle)
* Joanna Sheen (Cold & Frosty)
* Sweet Stampin' (Snow People)
* Let's Craft & Create (Christmas)
* Hooked on Craft (Christmas no Red/Green)

I hope everything will get back to normal very soon, fingers crossed!

Let It Snow!
Good morning everyone!
I had a lovely long weekend, yesterday it was Queen's Day here in the Netherlands and we had absolutely beautiful weather! We had a lovely walk into the town centre, had a short look around all the stalls of people selling the content of their attic and had a lovely ice cream in the sun :)
My card today is about a totally different kind of weather though, namely lovely winter snow! As it's the 1st of May, a new challenge started at Christmas Cards All Year Round and this time it's "CHRISTMAS CAROLS"! Or basically Christmas songs, so plenty to choose from. The prize this month is a gorgeous set of Christmas ornament stamps, go check it out! Hope to see you there :)

Use a Die Cut!
Good morning everyone!
The new challenge over at Card Makin' Mamas has started, this time we would like to see your creativity using "DIE-CUTS"! You can interpret this any which way suits you best, but your card needs to include a die-cut somewhere! We are sponsored by Saturated Canary this time (don't you just love the name?), the lucky winner can get their hands on 2 digis of their choice, and there is a LOT of choice :)
Here's my make:
Isn't she a little cutie? I made it difficult for myself to colour, since I printed the image out fairly small and the image is so intricate, that in order to get a nice colour on the apples I decided to 3D them. They look pretty tasty to me, don't you think? Perfect for when you're a little under the weather I'd say!
Materials:
* White base card
* Saturated Canary Digi (Snow White - A Princess), coloured with Promarkers
* Prima Marketing Jack and Jill DP
* Cream die cut, inked with blue ink
* Sentiment stamp, gems and bow from stash
Challenges:
* Crafts and Me (Use Blue on Your Card)
* Crafts 4 Eternity (Magical Mystical)
* Polka Doodles (Magical & Mystical)
* Scrapbook Sisters (Anything Goes)
* Stampin' B's (Use Items Starting with P: Princess)
* The Kraft Journal (Anything Goes)
* Delicious Doodles (Good vs Evil)
* CCEE Stampers (Funny Get Well Soon Card)
* Paper Crafting Yourney (Use a Digi)
* Sassy Studio (Favourite Film --> Snow White when I was a kid)
I am hoping to see you all participating in the challenge, check out the challenge blog if you would like some more inspiration!
Only a few more days until we get the keys to the new house, I am so excited! Have a lovely weekend :)

Second Birthday Card
SCROLL DOWN FOR MY CARD MAKIN' MAMAS DT CARD!
Good morning everyone!
My friend's daughter is turning 2 at the end of the month, so a little card was in order. We don't get to see each other that often because we live on opposite sides of the country, but we regularly go shopping together somewhere......well, I say shopping, it's more of a natter and eating expedition ;) Anyway, yesterday we had another one of our expeditions and I brought the card and a few little gifts for Rhode's birthday.
I decided to make an aperture card, I think it works really well. This is my first attempt at making a rosette and it was so easy to make! I saw someone do it on Create and Craft and thought: I could do that. Turns out that I can :) I know it's a blue card for a girl, but sometimes you just have to go where inspiration takes you ;)
Materials:
* White base card
* StudioLight 3D images and inside sentiment
* Eline's Vintage Blue and Green and My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy True Blue DP
* Black ink
* Flower and scalloped circle punch
* Gems, pearl, letters and number & line peel off from stash
Challenges:
* Totally Gorjuss (Cute and Cuddly)
* Crafts and Me (Blue or Bluegreens)
* Scrapbook Sisters (Blue)
* Deep Ocean (Light Blue)
* Allsorts (You've been framed)
* Pixie Cottage (Big on Birthday)
* Divas by Design (Birthday)
* A Spoon Full of Sugar (Birthday)
* Anything Goes (Birthday/Celebration)
* Emerald Fairies (Birthday)
I will probably be having a little play in the crafty room today as well, football on telly is the perfect excuse :)

Red, White and Blue
Hello everyone!
How has your week been? It's so busy at my end right now; I had a work conference in the beginning of the week and my students are now scrambling to finish their thesis on time so that means a lot of paper grading! Oh well, in a few weeks we will be on holiday, I'm just holding on to that thought :)
It's time for another challenge over at Card Makin' Mams. So many beautiful entries again for last challenge, so if you have a suitable card please join the fun!
Our challenge this time around is "RED, WHITE AND BLUE"
We are sponsored by Robyn's Fetish, they are offering the winner either 5 digital stamps or 4 digital stamps and 1 paper set. Have a look at their website to see the collection: http://robynsfetish.com/shop/. They also provided us with some images to give you some inspiration, I used SS Hoppity, great name huh? It was such an easy image to colour as well, as some of the shading is already indicated, so you know where to colour in a bit darker. Great help for a colouring/shading newbie like me!
Materials used:
* White A6 base card
* Robyn's Fetish SS Hoppity image, coloured with Promarkers
* Studio Light DPs & borders inside (It's usually used with more traditional/vintage images, but I think it works great here as well)
* Create and Craft white ribbon
* Scalloped circle punch
* Sentiment, red gems from stash
I am submitting to these challenges:
* Craft Us Crazy (Red,White and Blue/Summer)
* A Spoonful of Sugar (Use Ribbon and at least one Bow)
* DieCutDreams (Red, White and Blue)
* I Love Promarkers (Anything Goes)
* Ladybug Crafts (Use Red)
* Passion for Promarkers (Park Life)
* Scrapbook Sisters (Anything Goes)
* Southern Girls Challenge (Anything Goes)
* Hooked on Craft (Anything Goes)
* Polka Doodles (Stashbox stamps & colour theme)
Right, that's it from me, one last day of work at it's the weekend! Woohoo! I am planning to spend much of it sleeping and catching up my buddies' blogs :) Enjoy your weekend as well, whatever you will be doing!

Another Christmas Card
Hi all,
Well, when I was saying last week that a lot of work was waiting for me, I wasn't kidding! I've spent all this week trying to catch up, meaning little time for making cards. But I finally have something to show you again, a Christmas card this time.

I haven't even had time to finish decorating the inside yet!
Materials used:
* Studio Light image and red basic backing paper
* Bauble stamp on the red backing paper from Ollie stamp set Christmas
* Music backing paper from Dovecraft Tis the Season
* Red ribbon from stash
* Flora Doodles Primary Colours flowers
* Little peel off gems in the baubles
I know, the flowers aren't that Christmassy, but the colours combine great with traditional Christmas colours.
I am submitting to these challenges:
* Winter Wonderland (Baubles)
* Christmas Stampin' (Make it Yours)
* Crafty Hazelnut (Square card)
* Charizma Cards (Bling & Sparkles, it was so sparkly that I had trouble getting a decent photo, as the photo's above can attest.......)
* Delightful Sketches (Flowers)
* Incy Wincy (Sparkle & Shine)
* Paper Pretties (Bring on the Bling)
* Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge (Christmas in Spring)
* For Fun Challenges (Christmas)
I heard on the news that this Saturday is going to be glorious in the Netherlands, they are promising at least 21 degrees! Woohoo, finally! I think a little picnic is in order.....:) Have a great rest of the week and of course a lovely weekend!
