Next up is a card using a beautiful image from our own Mynn at MHK Designs.   The tag and sentiment are from Inspired by Stamping Holiday Tags.
I added Wink of Stella to the snow in the image for some sparkle.  I heat embossed the tag and the sentiment.  DP is from Stampin'Up Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper..

House of Cards Stamped Punch Window Challenge

We have a technique challenge for November over on the House of Cards Challenge Blog.  There's a video on how to do this technique on the challenge blog.  Here's my card for the challenge.

Crafty Colonel Donna Nuce for House of Cards Challenge blog, Stamp Punch Window technique, Stampin'Up Stamps and punch, Christmas Card.

As you can see the sentiments are recessed inside the punch hole.  It gives the card a unique look.  Hard to see but the ribbons are gold shiny  pen and I covered the ornaments with Wink of Stella.

Come join us over at the House of Cards and play along with us!  Check out what the other Design Team members did with this technique!

House of Cards October Challenge

It's time for another challenge at the House of Cards.
This month we are asking for cards with:

Add texture &/or Color Challenge
autumn palette

I somehow saw the dark color as more of an eggplant color.  Now it looks more like a really dark green on my screen.  Anyway here's my card.

I used CTMH Poster Tidings in the background and CTMH Bountiful Season for the center.  I added texture to the stitched squares and cut the leaf out and popped it over the ribbon.  Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  This card is going to my Chiropracter as an apology for missing a scheduled appointment with them.  I hate when I over commit myself!

Come on over to the House of Cards and show us your colorful creations this month!

I got the idea from this card on Pinterest.  I used more quilt like DP for the squares.  These are Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies.  The sentiment was a free one from a magazine purchase.

It's time for another new monthly challenge at House of Cards!  We loved all the beautiful creations from last month and we cannot wait to see what you do with this month's challenge which is....

To create a card with using this word cue~

Here's my card for the challenge.

Here's a close up of the shine metallic on the card.

Crafty Colonel Donna Nuce for House of Cards Blog, Club Scrap Lock and Key Club Stamp Kit, Love Card

I started with this gorgeous metallic copper ribbon from the Club Scrap Lock and Key kit. (retired but still available as a digital file).  I took a chipboard key and stamped it with Versamark and heat embossed it in Copper Metallic EP.  I used a copper paint pen to highlight the design on the DP.  I punched the heart out of copper metallic paper and dry embossed it.  The love sentiment is heat embossed with copper metallic EP also.

The DT cards will be showcased here throughout the month!
Hop on over to the House of Cards and play along with us. We hope you join in the fun--please check out our House Rules HERE before linking up!

I am also adding this to the Simon Says Stamp blog challenge "Anything Goes."

House of Cards - Enamel Dots

Good Morning everyone and welcome to the House of Cards March Challenge - Enamel Dots.  There are some wonderful tutorials on the House of Cards blog on ways of making enamel dots rather than purchasing them.

Don't you hate it when you can't find something in your craft room?  I was totally frustrated because I purchased some enamel dots just for this challenge.  I know they made it to my craft room.  When it was time to make the card do you think I could find them?  I didn't want to make any enamel dots since I rarely use them.  They are too thick for Operation Write Home cards (or for any mailing in a regular envelope).  So I used my candy dots instead.  Here's my card - just pretend those are enamel dots on it (LOL)!

With all the snow we are having here in Colorado I needed something bright and cheery!
Come join us at the House of Cards for some fun with enamel dots.

Glittery Color Challenge

Happy New Year!  I'm back with another monthly challenge from the House of Cards.
To use glitter and/or be inspired by this~
glittered (blues)

Now glitter is not one of my favorite things to work with so I had to dig around to find anything glittery but here's what I came up with.

Crafty Colonel, StampinUp, Thinlit Snowflake Die, Winter Card, House of Cards Challenge Blog,

I used my NBUS (never before used schtuff) (see Darnell at DJKardkreations.com for more info) Stampin'Up! Thinlit Snowflake Card Die.  Here's what it looks like opened.

Crafty Colonel, StampinUp, Thinlits Snowflake Card Die, Winter Card, House of Cards Challenge Blog,
Isn't that "BRR" cute?  For the card I used two kinds of glitter paper.  The blue glitter paper is from DCWV, my preferred kind to use because the glitter is embedded in the cardstock and does not shed.  The silver glitter is from Stampin'Up! and it does shed but creates a beautiful sparkle.  You can see the difference here in this close-up.

Crafty Colonel, StampinUp, Thinlits Snowflake Card Die, Winter Card, House of Cards Challenge Blog,

The challenge at the House of Cards is for all month long.  You don't have to use glitter - you can just follow the color scheme instead.  Hope to see you on the House of Cards Challenge Blog.
I am also entering this in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3.

House of Cards November Challenge

This month at the House of Cards Challenge Blog we have a sketch for you to try.

Mynn has a video tutorial for you on how to create the fun textured focal image on her card.

Here's my card for the challenge.

As I was looking at all my Pinterest pins I noticed that I had pinned a lot of yellow and black cards.  So I dug out some yellow and black DP from Hot Off the Press and one of their Paper Tole designs.

House of Cards October Classic & Elegant

It is time for another challenge over at the House of Cards Challenge blog.  This week it is the Classic & Elegant team's turn to post.  This month Mynn our challenge host is sharing a tutorial and asking us to make cards using a die or punch.  Here's my card for the challenge.

This is a CASE of a Sue Wilson card.  I loved her idea of the black Embossing Powder on Black paper.  Here's a closeup of it.

A little hard to see but truly elegant!  The banner is Lawn Fawn and the sentiment is Inspired by Stamping.   Die cuts are Spellbinders and Stampin'Up.

It's time for another challenge at the House of Cards Challenge Blog and the Classic & Elegant team is posting this week.  This month our challenge is a photo/color inspiration...

Perfectly Preserved (retired) and the sentiment is Stampin'Up! Hostess Hello There.  Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. Come join us at the House of Cards Blog for this month's challenge!

I am also entering this in Darnell's latest NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) Challenge as I had never used the stamps in the Hostess Hellos set or the DP and Ribbon.  Click on the picture below if you want to play in her challenge.  She has some great prizes!

House of Cards June Blog Hop and Challenge

Hi, all!  It's time for an end of the term blog hop over at House of Cards and we have a super fun challenge AND tons of great prize opportunities for those of you who join in the fun!!! :)  You should have arrived here from Anita's Blog.  If you haven't, please start all the way back at the House of Cards hop post and follow the list found in the body of the hop post!

Here's our photo inspiration~

Here are our fabulous sponsors~

Eclectic Anthology
Prize: $50 gift voucher to the shop.
FREE Vintage Flower Basket Graphics-free, vintage, flower, rose, graphics, basket, antique

Inspired By Stamping
Prize: $15 gift voucher to the shop.
Inspired by Stamping

Paper Sweeties

Prize: $20 gift voucher to the shop.

STAMPlorations

Prize: 5 stamps sets--your choice--from the shop.

Stitchy Bear
Prize: $10 gift voucher to the shop.

Here's my first card highlighting one of our sponsors Inspired By Stamping (IBS).

When I saw the wire basket in the photo I thought of a new Chicken Wire Die from TCW that I had.  That led me to thinking about chickens and from there to French Country.  (I know weird train of thought!)  I used the IBS French Country stamp set to make the diamond background DSP, the chicken and the corners are from the same set.  I used the IBS Fancy Circles set for my sentiment (I love the font in this set!).  The other DP is G45 French Country.  Really Reasonable Ribbon completes the look.

My second card highlights another sponsor Eclectic Anthology.
This card is more of a CAS style than my usual Classic and Elegant style.  I started with an Eclectic Anthology Vintage Background Paper and added a Antique Scientific Wildflower Illustration of a poppy to it.  I colored the poppy using my Panstorian Artisan Software and then printed it and layered it on colored cardstock.  The Thank You Sentiment is Cuttlebug.

So there you have it -- one CAS Card and one Classic and Elegant Card.  That's how we roll at the House of Cards Challenge blogs.

Now get to hoppin'!  Your next stop is Judy's Blog!  If you get lost along the way, you can always head back to the original blog hop post--and don't forget to link up a project at the House of Cards blog after completing the hop for an extra chance to win a mystery prize from one of our fabulous sponsors, too!
