Cards in Envy Love Me or Love My Pet Challenge

My apologies to Cards in Envy readers looking for my blog post!  I posted my card for Sandy to post on the Cards in Envy blog but failed to do the blog post on my blog.  I guess I am getting "Old-timers" disease LOL!  So here is my card for the Love Me or Love My Pet Challenge.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy challenge. Impression Obessions stamp, Graphic 45 paper,
This Dog and Butterfly stamp from Impression Obsessions reminds me of my 16 year old Weimeraner.  He's a sleepy boy and if he was sitting outside some butterfly would certainly think he was a great place to rest.  I used Graphic 45 paper and sentiment.  Check out the other design team member and post a Love card or a Love my pet card for us to see on the Cards in Envy blog.  Be sure to read our annoucement at the top of the page about the very last challenge for the Cards in Envy challenge blog.

It's the first Monday of the Month and time for a new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog.  This time we are looking for a cute or a scary Halloween card.  Mine is not super scary (unless the Crow lands on my front porch)!  But I love Graphic 45 Place in Time for a Halloween idea.

Cards in Envy Motherly Love

It is time for another challenge on the Cards in Envy Blog.  This time we want to see cards that show Motherly Love (it doesn't have to be a Mother's Day card - just something showing motherly love).

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy Challenge Blog, Graphic45 Precious Memories, Mother's Day Card
You might notice a trend on my last few Cards in Envy blog posts.  I am finally breaking out some of my "precious" Graphic 45 papers.  The sentiment is stamped in VersaMark and embossed with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder.  So pretty.  Here's a closeup.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy Challenge blog, Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime
The Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime paper is so perfect.  I stamped (Hampton Art), colored and Stickled my fairy.  Some of the flowers are fussy cut and shaped.

Cards in Envy Snowbird Challenge

Happy New Year and Welcome to the new challenge at Cards in Envy.  We are looking for cards with snow, snowmen or snowflakes but be sure to add a bird to your card.  I almost feel like this is a cheat card because no stamping was involved.  I ran the card through a snowflake embossing folder and used this beautiful image and sentiment from the Graphic 45 "Time to Flourish" paper pack, added a few red stickles to sparkle it up and done!

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy Challenge blog, Graphic 45 Time to Flourish.

Come check out what the rest of the design team came up with for their snowbird cards on the Cards in Envy blog.  Your cards can be any size or shape but not lumpy bumpy cards - they need to fit in a mailing envelope.  Here's a great Irish quote for the New Year.

"In the New Year may your right hand be stretched out in friendship but never in want."

Mommy's Brag Book

This weekend we will be having a baby shower for my youngest Niece.  She lives in Maryland and is out here visiting her parents.  I had her shower gift sent to her home so she wouldn't have to cart too many gifts on the plane.  I wanted to give her something more personal at the shower.  So I put together this Mommy Brag book for her to use to show off baby pictures.  I got the idea for the Accordian Tag Mini Album from Gloria Stengel's Scraps of Life Blog.

And here's the back of the album.
Plenty of room to add pictures and journaling on the tags.  Since my niece won't tell us the sex of the baby yet, I had to go with both blue and the peach color.
I love this Graphic 45 Precious Memories DP.  So cute!

Sunday Inspiration

Yesterday was my Son-in-Law's Birthday.  We are taking him and my daughter out to dinner tonight and here is the card that I made for him.

I went with the larger 5x7 format since the Tim Holtz Picture Wheel die cut is very large.  DP is older Graphic 45 Kraft Reflections.  Clock stamp is Time by Stampington & Co.  I was inspired by this pin on Pinterest.

Hope your Sunday is a blessed one!

OWH Virtual Cardmaking Party #1

This weekend Operation Write Home is having a Virtual Cardmaking Party (VCMP).  There's 5 challenges scheduled every 2 hours throughout the day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Lots of goodies to be given away if you play along.

The first challenge is on Sybrina's blog asking us to use an OWH Sketch and make his and her cards.  Here's my take on this challenge.

I used OWH Sketch #122.  The masculine card has a "Rusty Truck" image from Stamper's Best and tire tracks from Tim Holtz Road Trip stamp set.  DSP is the Paper Studio "The Great RockIsland Route."  Feminine card is all Graphic 45 French Country and I flipped the sketch.

Back with more later!

House of Cards June Blog Hop and Challenge

Hi, all!  It's time for an end of the term blog hop over at House of Cards and we have a super fun challenge AND tons of great prize opportunities for those of you who join in the fun!!! :)  You should have arrived here from Anita's Blog.  If you haven't, please start all the way back at the House of Cards hop post and follow the list found in the body of the hop post!

Here's our photo inspiration~

Here are our fabulous sponsors~

Paper Sweeties

Prize: $20 gift voucher to the shop.

STAMPlorations

Prize: 5 stamps sets--your choice--from the shop.

Stitchy Bear
Prize: $10 gift voucher to the shop.

Here's my first card highlighting one of our sponsors Inspired By Stamping (IBS).

When I saw the wire basket in the photo I thought of a new Chicken Wire Die from TCW that I had.  That led me to thinking about chickens and from there to French Country.  (I know weird train of thought!)  I used the IBS French Country stamp set to make the diamond background DSP, the chicken and the corners are from the same set.  I used the IBS Fancy Circles set for my sentiment (I love the font in this set!).  The other DP is G45 French Country.  Really Reasonable Ribbon completes the look.

My second card highlights another sponsor Eclectic Anthology.
This card is more of a CAS style than my usual Classic and Elegant style.  I started with an Eclectic Anthology Vintage Background Paper and added a Antique Scientific Wildflower Illustration of a poppy to it.  I colored the poppy using my Panstorian Artisan Software and then printed it and layered it on colored cardstock.  The Thank You Sentiment is Cuttlebug.

So there you have it -- one CAS Card and one Classic and Elegant Card.  That's how we roll at the House of Cards Challenge blogs.

Now get to hoppin'!  Your next stop is Judy's Blog!  If you get lost along the way, you can always head back to the original blog hop post--and don't forget to link up a project at the House of Cards blog after completing the hop for an extra chance to win a mystery prize from one of our fabulous sponsors, too!

House of Cards Classic and Elegant for May

It's time for another two week challenge over at the House of Cards Challenge Blog.  This is the Classic & Elegant or CAS challenge.  We are using this photo and/or color as our inspiration!

Here's my card for the challenge.

I stamped this Club Scrap "Take Wing" image on Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper with Ranger Black Archival and clear embossed it.    I used Squeezed Lemonade, Victorian Velvet and Dusty Concord Distressed inks for the background colors.  I cut it out and mounted it on Lavender DP is from G45 Secret Garden and then Yellow DP from Bella Blvd.  Sentiment is from the Club Scrap "Take Wing" stamp set. Come on over and join us at the House of Cards Challenge blog for some fun!

I am also entering this in the Cards in Envy: Winged Things Challenge.

House of Cards April Sketch Challenge

Good Morning!  The Challenge over at the House of Cards Challenge Blog for April is a sketch challenge. So this two weeks of April is for Clean & Simple Cards (CAS) or Classic & Elegant cards that follow the sketch.  Hop on over and play along with us.  Here is my DT card for the challenge.

Here's the sketch.

I am still playing with my Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations Trellis Framework Die.  The diecut was leftover from another card I did.  The papers are "Nature Garden" from Prima.  I filled in the diecut with papers that coordinated with the background paper.  The butterfly is Memory Box Darla and Vivienne.  I double embossed the Vivienne butterfly with clear embossing powder to give it a nice shine.  Then I stamped and colored the Hampton Art Graphic 45 "Once Upon a Springtime" stamp.

I am also entering this in the MOJO Monday 342.

House of Cards Classic & Elegant October Challenge

This month the challenge at the House of Cards is a Sketch Challenge.  Week three of the month is devoted to Classic & Elegant cards.  Week one of every month is Cute & Fun, week two is Clean & Simple, week three is Classic & Elegant and week four is Shabby & Vintage.  Here is the sketch we are using.

I found the "X" in the back to be a little challenging but here is what I came up with.

The card is all Graphic 45 French Country papers.  Come join House of Cards challenge this week and make a Classic & Elegant card.  The definition of Classic & Elegant is :  "Think a greeting card from Hallmark.  These are not really cards that fit into any other category.  They usually feature floral or other classic elements.  Less embellishments than Shabby & Vintage or Fun & Cute, but more than CAS."

Looking forward to seeing your cards.

OWH Sketch #188 French Country

Still working on the  Virtual Card Making Party this weekend for OWH.  There are ten challenges and the linkys will stay open until Sunday September 8th.  So there is lots of time to play along. This is Challenge 6 and the weekly sketch for OWH.  The minute I saw this sketch I knew what I was going to do with it.

I just got some Graphic 45 French Country and I knew this sketch was perfect for it.  The sentiment is from Close to My Heart Jardine set.  It was a little sad to cover up the cute rooster and sunflowers inside the beautiful frame but I couldn't figure out any other way that looked good to get this sentiment on there.  I made my own background using cream cardstock, Vintage Photo distress ink, French Foliage stamp and Smokey Slate ink from Stampin'Up.  I distressed the edges with Fired Brick and Aged Mahagony distress ink.

Inkspirational Challenge #33

I am back from a nice camping trip to Blue Mesa Reservoir just outside of Gunnison Colorado.  Weather was a little cold and rainy but still a beautiful place to camp.

I had time to put together a card for the Inkspirational Challenge Blog.

This weeks challenge was a photo challenge.  I used Graphic 45 's papers from ABC Primer and A Place in Time September for the card.  It is a CASE of a tag on Pinterest by Wendy Jannusch.

Here's the photo inspiration from Inkspirational if you would like to play along.

Our Daily Bread May and Inkspirational #18 Challenge

Happy National Scrapbook Day!  The folks over at Operation Write Home are being Rebellious and making cards instead!  LOL  The first challenge of their Virtual Card Making Party is to make a card for the Our Daily Bread May Challenge -- Missing you cards.  I combined this with the Inkspirational Blog Color Challenge #18 of Grape, Olive and Peach.    (My cardstock looks blue in the background but it really is purple)

This is a gorgeous triadic color combination!  In looking through my Pinterest Inspiration Board I came across a card from Sandy Allnock that she made for the Interactive Cardmaking Project (ICP).  Mine doesn't look quite like the original sketch (neither did Sandy's!)  If you want to try the ICP GO HERE and follow along to CBABA to see Sandy's card and play along in the ICP.  The paper is Graphic 45 Tropical Travelogue.  Stamp is TPC studios.  Ribbon is American Crafts.
