Is it too early for holiday cards?

Hello everybody! How are you doing? It's been a while since I posted anything here. But a lot has been going on here and I barely had any free time. Not that I complain though, pretty much all of the things that kept me busy had been super fun. :D

While I've been enjoying the lovely sunny days, I'm already thinking about December and all the holidays that come with it. Who's with me? Do you work on your holiday cards all year long or you, like me, wait til the last minute to make some? The card I am about to show you was made some time ago, but I'm determined to start making more holiday cards soon.

Today's card was inspired by my other card that I shared with you here. I just love this adorable penguin image from Whimsy stamps and I was pretty happy with the layout of my previous card so I decided to use a similar one here. Between the layers I used foam pads for some extra dimension.

I coloured the image with polychromos and I used stickles and liquid applique on parts of the image. The papers are from DCWV. The only embellishment I used on this card were some small pearls.

So this is it for today. Have a great day! :)

Snowball fight

Hello everybody! How are you doing? I hope you had lovely holidays and that January has been good for you so far. I can't complain. Over the holiday season I took a short break from crafting so I could spend more time with my family and do more things with them. But now I'm slowly finding my way to my crafty place again. Currently I'm working on a special birthday present for a friend of ours. It is not finished yet, so I can't show it to you, but I promised to share some pictures of it when it's done. In the meantime I would like to share with you a winter card I made ...

How adorable are these pinguins?! Each time I look at this image I start smiling. They look ready for some winter fun (meaning: snowball fighting :P). I never shy away from the snowball fight, in fact, I much enjoy them. What about you?

I did the colouring with polychromos and I added some stickles on parts of the snowballs and snow. The papers are from DCWV. The only embellishments I used are a pearl and some small star sequins.

I used foam pads between the layers to give the card some dimension.

Have a lovely day! xx

Joy!

Hello everybody! How are you doing? It's getting really cold here. But then again, it's almost November already. Crazy, right? Where did the time go?

I still have several holiday cards I want to share with you and this is one of them. But before I do that let me tell you about a fab crafty candy my mum has on her blog.

If you want to win some of those markers click here and read what you have to do. ;)

And now let me show you my card...

I was very lucky to receive this super cute penguin stamp from a very sweet lady and I am very grateful to her. I love these adorable penguins, they bring a smile to my face each time I look at them. I hope the person who gets this card will feel the same way.

Again I used the pretty papers from DCWV and I coloured the image with polychromos. Penguins are a Whimsy stamps stamp and presents are The greeting farm stamps. I didn't use any embellishments here (shocking, I now), just a few die cuts.

I used foam pads between the layers to give the card some dimension.

That's it for today. Have a lovely day!

Santa baby

Hello everybody! How are you doing? How was the first month of the year for you? I hope everything has been well for you. I've been pretty busy at work, but I managed to get some crafting done as well. I'll show you what I've been working on soon, but today I would like to show you another Christmas card I made back in December.

You probably know by now that I like the adorable stamps and awesome dies from The Greeting Farm, don't you? Well, I used one of their sweet images and a sentiment die on the card I want to show you today.

On this card I used pretty blue papers from DCWV and a sparkly red cardstock which was actually an old Christmas card, which I recycled. I coloured the image with polychromos, fussy cut it and raised it on foam pads for some dimension. In the left upper corner I glued the sentiment. I finished the card off with some pearls and blue star shaped sequins.

have a wonderful day! xx

Pop-up box card for hubby

Hello everybody! Can you belive we are already in the second half of January? Goodness, time flies so fast, doesn't it? So, how has 2021 been for you this far? Good, I hope.

At the beginning of the year I was asked to be a guest designer at the Scrapping4fun challenges

I gladly accepted and am joining the team with the new AG challenge that started today. The sponsor for this challenge is DiesRUs.

Let me show you what I made...

It's a pop-up box card that I made for my daughter to give to her daddy/my husband! It's my very first pup-up box card, if I may add... I've been wanting to make one of those for a while, but most of the time I ran out of time or felt too lazy to plan this whole design. *ooops* I know there are some dies out there that make a base for the pop-up card in a couple of seconds, but I don't have any of those so I looked for some tutorials online and then made the template for the base myself. This plus creating the "things" I wanted to have in my box resulted in this pop-up box taking quite some time to complete. I really wanted to include (at least) some of the things that my hubby likes to do, so I created a small book (because he loves reading), a camera (because he likes photography) and a computer (because ... well, you know, he's a guy and he likes to spend time behind his computer :P). I have plenty of dies and stamps, but none that I could use here (go figure!), so I designed everything myself. I did hoewever use 2 sentiment stamps once the box inserts were done. Both of the sentiments and the heart image are from The Greeting Farm. On one side of the book I stamped "Best dad ever" and on the other side I stamped some hearts. "Best dad ever" actually says "best day ever", but I changed that "y" into a "d". This sentiment comes from the "Best day Anya" set. On the computer screen I stamped "You are amazing" and that sentiment is from the "Mega-mini amazing" set. Hearts are also a TGF stamp - they are from the Girl build a onesie stamp set. I finished the pop-up box with some star inserts (stars were actually die cut).

Do you have a favourite colour combo when it comes to making cards or other crafty projects? I have quite a few to be honest, but when it comes to making things for guys I very often turn to black and gold colour combination. It's so classy, don't you think so?

That's it for me today. Have a wonderful day! xx

Happy 2021

Hello everybody! Happy New Year! I hope the first week of 2021 has been a good one for you. How did you spend the longest day in the year? For us it was a bit different than the previous years, because we didn't get to visit all the relatives, but it was still nice. The lil one didn't stay up til midnight, but me and my hubby did. Til about 11.30pm we watched The queen's gambit and then we turned on the regular TV. Have you watched The queen's gambit yet? I've had so many people telling me how good it was and that I really should give it a go, so I decided to watch it. And it's really not bad. What are your thoughts on it if you watched it?

I know you are most likely sick and tired of seeing all the Christmas cards already, but there is still one I'd like to show you today.

It's another card I made with the pretty papers from DCWV. And again I used the adorable Mama elephant reindeer images. I did the colouring with polychromos. I printed the sentiment from Word. It's in Slovenian and it means "happy holidays".

Have a lovely day! xx

Jingle all the way

Hello everybody! How many of you are counting the days till THE day? Are you done with all the Christmas baking yet? I've already made several different cookies, but I think I will make another batch in a day or two. I've started thinking about what I'll make for Christmas meal as well, but haven't completely made up my mind yet. Any suggestions? What will you be making?

Here's another Christmas card that I sent out this year. I actually thought it would reach its destination by now, but it hasn't. Hopefully it will get there before Christmas.

I was lucky enough to win these adorable reindeer stamps (with matching dies) some time ago and I just knew I will have to use them on some of my cards this year. They are so cute and they make me smile. :) I coloured the images with polychromos and then cut them out with matching dies and glued them on the card.

It's hard to see in the pictures, but the big snowflake behind the images/sentiment is soooooooo sparkly. It's covered with glitters and it looks really nice in my opinion (you can see the glitters better in the second photo). However, I couldn't resist and had to add even some more bling - I used a crystal string from my stash.

That's it from me for today. Have a wonderful day! :)

We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas ...

Hey hey! How are you doing? I hope you are staying safe and healthy. Do you have any snow where you live? We got a few snowflakes the other day, but not much. It was all gone by the end of the day.

I am back with another holiday card. Once again I used the tree stamp from The Greeting Farm and this time I also included a sentiment stamp from the same set.

Again I used the lovely papers from DCWV and I finished the card off with some bling. I did the colouring with Faber Castell polychromos.

So much from me today. See you again soon! :)

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow ...

Hello everybody! How are you doing? Do you also have a feeling that time is flying by at the speed of the light at this time of year? I honestly don't know where the first half of December went. To me it  feels like it was gone in the blink of the eye.

Have you mailed your Christmas cards yet? Mine went in the mail last week. This should give them enough time to get to their destination.

One of the cards that is already on its way is also this one...

Sorry for bad photos, but the card had to be packed and mailed pretty much immediately after I finished it.

I received this stamp set last year in a swap, but haven't had the chance to use it until now. First I stamped the snowman and seperately I stamped his accessories like bow and hat and placed them onto him. I like this stamp set because it has quite a few stamps - characters and many accessories for them. papers are from DCWV and snowflakes are LLLC and Sizzix dies.

Have a wonderful day! xx

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree...

Hellooooooo my crafty friends! How are you doing? I hope you are successfully hiding from all the viruses that are lurking around at this time of year. Have you started thinking about Christmas yet? or do you think it's still too early to mention the "C" word? My head is already with Christmas and everything that comes with it. I wonder what will Christmas be like this year. I know it will definitely not be as it was the previous years, but I hope we will still be able to experience at least some of the Christmas magic. I am aware that we might not visit all the friends and family this year, so I am trying to stock up on Christmas cards to mail them when the time comes.

Here's one of the Christmas cards I made recently...

I really like these Christmas trees. They are a TGF stamp that I've had in my stash for a loooooong, long time. They come as one big(ger) stamp, but after I stamped and coloured the image I cut out each of the Christmas trees, raised them on foam pads and glued them onto my card.

For the card I used papers from DCWV. I decorated the card with some crystals, ribbon and metal charm that I've had in my stash for ages (literally!). I used some foam pads between the layers to give the card some dimension.

So much for today. I wish you a wonderful day! xx

Happy birthday

Hi everybody! How are you? I've been busy baking in the last couple of days, but now I will be able to rest a bit.

We are already half-way throught the current challenge at The sketchy challenges blog. This month we want to see your creations based on this sketch.

Here's the card I made...

I made the stripes with golden glittery washi tape and then I just added a layer of beautiful DCWV patterned paper. I've had the big flower in my stash for quite a while and I thought it would look well on the card. To decorate the card I also used some golden stamens and white berries.

I hope you will come play with us.
Have a beautiful day! xx

Shake it... Christmas

Hello everybody! It's time for a new challenge at Magnolia-licious blog and the theme is Anything goes with option of Easter. Remember, you do NOT have to use Magnolia stamps on your creation if you don't have any; you can also use Stambing Bella, Whimsy Stamps or CC Designs images.

I decided to go with AG for my card and I didn't do the Easter theme. However, the DT had an extra challenge to make a shaker card, and I did that.

I'm realy trying to make Christmas cards all year long this year so I will have enough when December comes. For my card I used the adorable Divine angel Tilda stamp. I coloured the image with distress inks and I added Stickles on Tilda's wings. Papers are from DCWV. I embellished the card with some crystals, pearl string, pom pom ribbon and some lace.

I hope you will come play with us this month. Have a beautiful day!

I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:

Getting ready for holiday season

Hey hey! Brrr, it's getting cold here. At some places they have already received first snow of the season. That was early!!! We still haven't gotten any in my town, but the temperatures are getting lower and lower, so I guess it's just a matter of time.

Today I'm back with another Christmas card. I'm planning to send out many Christmas cards this year, so I better stock up. If you want a card from me too (and haven't said so on my FB page), let me know and I will send you one too. :)

I've decided to colour one of the old(er) Christmas images. I really like these adorable mice - these are definitely the only mice I find adorable and am not afraid of. Lol

To make this card I used gorgeous papers from DCWV's Winter magic paper pad. To embellish the card I used some crystals, lace, pearls and flowers. The silver stars you see peeking from behind the flowers are from Crafty ribbons.

I did the colouring with distress inks and I covered poinsettia with Stickles. I love me some extra bling!! He he :D

So much from me today.

See you again soon. Hugs! xx

Flowers everywhere

Hello everybody! It's weekend. Woohoo! :D Do you have any plans? I'll see if I can get some free time to do some crafting and if I can I also want to catch up on commenting. Fingers crossed I can do it.

Before I go to my card, I want to tell you about the candy my mom has on her blog. Hop there and join if you want to. :)

I always like to have some cards on hand (especially birthday ones) for when I need them and might not have time for crafting. I was just going through my box and I noticed that I have quite some cute cards ready to be mailed, but almost none non-cute. Oooops. So I went to work. I always enjoy trying new things when crafting, so this card is something new for me. It's not cute and doesn't have any stamped images. Not even a sentiment. But it does have a lot of flowers. ;)

Sorry because picture isn't the best. In my opinion card looks better in person than it does here.

See, told you there were lots of flowers. ;) It was lots of fun putting this together and even though I enjoy colouring it was a nice change to make a card that didn't require a coloured image.

To make this card I used gorgeous DCWV papers from the Midnight Berry paper pad. For the center I used lots of flowers from different companies. Other embellishments I used are lace, tassel trim, golden butterflies, pearls, gems, pearl string and silicone frame. I made this frame with Mod podge molds. Lacy border is Cottage Cutz die.

Hope you like my today's card. See you soon. Enjoy the weekend! :)

I'd like to enter my card to the following challenges:
Scrapping cottage: Birthday card (I used Fancy lace border)
Frilly and funkie: Floral infatuation
Craft Heaven shop: Anything goes

Inky chicks: Lots of butterflies
