Fa la la la la

Hey hey! I'm back with another card. :) This one was made for my guest designer position at the Caffeinated Christmas card challenge where the theme this month is "green".

And the sponsor of this challenge is The Cat's Pajama's, which kindly donated a $25 gift code to the lucky winner.

I have to admit that green isn't really the colour I would often use on my cards, so it was quite a challenge for me to create a green card, but I jumped in with both feet and here is the result ...

It doesn't get much greener than this, does it? ;) It's no secret I loooove adding layers on top of layers on top of more layers :P on my cards, so I had lots of fun making this one. And when I was going through my stamp collection, looking for one that I could use on my card, I found Let is snow stamp set from The greeting farm and I knew immediately I wanted to use this adorable polar bear from the set on my card. I coloured the image with polychromos, fussy cut it and glued it on my card. The sentiment is from an old stamp set from Hobby Lobby. I embossed the sentiment with the gold embossing powder and I glued some die cuts around it to make the whole card more festive. At the end I just added some red crystals. Other embellishments that I used are a doily and a piece of pompom ribbon.

Here you can see the dimension and the lovely foiled paper I used on the card better ...

This is all from me for today. Have a beautiful day! xx

Warm and toasty wishes

Hello everybody! We are far into January already and we have fallen back into routine. Well, sort of, we still have a bit of a problem getting up early. :P But I'm sure we'll get used to this again soon.

Today I'm back with a new card. It's a CAS one again. I played with another adorable stamp set that I received for Christmas - Snow one like you by Pink and main. Look how happy this adorable snowman looks bathing in a hot chocolate.

To create this card I embossed a white cardstock with a TH snowflake embossing folder and then glued little snippets of design paper and some gold washi tape over it. I added a white die-cut, over which I stamped with some snowflake stamps. On a separate piece of paper I stamped my main image, coloured it with polychromos, fussy-cut it and glued it on the card with foam pads. I added some stickles on the snowman's scarf. As a finishing touch I added some gold die-cut snowflakes in the middle of which I glued a pearl.

As mentioned above, I only used snippets on this card - I always feel good when I manage to use some of those small pieces of paper. ;) Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the snippets before I cut them and glued them on the card, but I did take a picture right after that, so you can see how much was left after I cut off what I needed for the card (the golden strip on a card is a piece of washi tape). The golden snowflakes were cut from a leftover piece of paper too - of that I actually took photo before I cut the snowflakes out.

I'm very sorry for the bad pictures, but I only have time to craft in the evening and as you can imagine the lightning is terrible then.

Have a lovely day! xx

Felt Christmas ornaments

Hello everybody! How are you doing? For the last month or so I have been working on Christmas cards and some Christmas gifts to give to friends. I don't know about you, but I much prefer giving and receiving handmade gifts, especially for Christmas - be it handmade ornaments, cookies, a nice card .... Anything really. I think a thoughtful handmade gift makes the holidays even more special. Do you like to give/receive handmade gifts? If yes, what is your favourite thing to give/receive? Last year I was giving away these mini angels (along with homemade cookies), and this year I am working on felt ornaments and will probably make some homemade "nutella" (probably better if I call it "hazelnut spread") to give it away together with the ornament.

You can find several recipes for homemade hazelnut spread online, so I will not share the one I am using, but I will share with you some of the felt ornaments I've made so far. Some of them have already been claimed, but I still have a little bit of time to make more. However, I realized I need to (or better said "want to") buy some new dies - e.g. Christmas tree die, a snowman die. You know, just to make my life easier and not have to cut everything out myself. Do you have any suggestions on which dies I could (should) buy?

These are all completely handmade by me. I used different colours of felt, beads from my stash and some embroidery thread for the stitching. I used Memory box dies for the stockings, circle dies for the Christmas puddings and Spellbinders round corner square die for some of the presents (it took me a while to remember I have those and I don't have to cut the base out by hand). Christmas trees have been cut out by scissors. Do you like them? Which one is your favourite? To be honest I can't decide. I reeeeeeally like the Christmas tree one (though that one was quite a pain to cut out by scissors, so I reeeally want a die with a similar shape), but I also love the little presents and that pink stocking. Heck, I really can't choose just one. I like them all and I hope the recipients will like them as well.

So much from me for today. Have a wonderful December! And merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year in case I don't make it back here before the year ends. :)

Pink and black Christmas

Hey hey! How are you doing? Have you managed to get any days off and relax a bit? Or maybe do some crafting? I have to admit I haven't done as much crafting as I had hoped I would, but I'm planning to catch up in the following weeks.

Today I want to show you a Christmas card. And this one is very far from my usual style. But to shake things up a bit I decided to create a non-traditional Christmas card. I've been eyeing the pink and black Christmas paper pad from Craft Sensations for about a month, before I actually made a plunge and bought it. I probably have enough papers to last me a lifetime, but I just couldn't resist. *ooops* Anyways, when I was thinking about making a Christmas card in non traditional colours, I knew I wanted to use papers from this paper pad. And this is how the card turned out ...

So, how do you like this colour combination for Christmas? Do you prefer traditional or untraditional colours for Christmas? For a change I also didn't use a coloured image on my card. Instead I used a big "Merry Christmas" die from The greeting farm.

I wish you a wonderful day! xx

Is it too early for holiday cards?

Hello everybody! How are you doing? It's been a while since I posted anything here. But a lot has been going on here and I barely had any free time. Not that I complain though, pretty much all of the things that kept me busy had been super fun. :D

While I've been enjoying the lovely sunny days, I'm already thinking about December and all the holidays that come with it. Who's with me? Do you work on your holiday cards all year long or you, like me, wait til the last minute to make some? The card I am about to show you was made some time ago, but I'm determined to start making more holiday cards soon.

Today's card was inspired by my other card that I shared with you here. I just love this adorable penguin image from Whimsy stamps and I was pretty happy with the layout of my previous card so I decided to use a similar one here. Between the layers I used foam pads for some extra dimension.

I coloured the image with polychromos and I used stickles and liquid applique on parts of the image. The papers are from DCWV. The only embellishment I used on this card were some small pearls.

So this is it for today. Have a great day! :)

Mouse on a Christmas ornament

Hello everybody! How are you doing? We had such a beautiful weather over the last couple of days. We just had to go outside and enjoy the sun. I hope you managed to enjoy some sunshine over the weekend too.

So, what are your thoughts on CAS cards? I love them, but I barely ever make them, because I find them pretty hard to make. So I applaud to all of you who make them all the time and rock them. Well, in any case, this time I decided to go down this route too. And this is the result.

I have a confesion to make ... I have a hard time throwing away pieces of pretty design paper so I have quite a few scraps lying around. I used one of those leftover pieces on today's card. I kept the rest of the card white. On another piece of paper I stamped this adorable mouse from Wild rose studio and coloured it with my polychromos. Then I fussy cut it, put some foam pads on the back of it and glued it on the card. Under the image I stamped a festive sentiment.

Since I wanted to keep the card clean and simple I didn't add any embelishments.

That's it from me for now. Have a wonderful day! :)

Away in a manger

Hey, hey! I hope you had a lovely Christmas. We had a calm family day with some yummy food and good movies. Just the way we like it. <3

I know I'm a day late with this card, but I still hope you can enjoy it.

For a long time I had been looking for a cute nativity stamp set, but none seemed right, but when saw this one from Paperbabe stamps I knew that was the one. I like that it gives you many possibilities on how to put the elements together.

On this card I created the scene with the holy family and a couple of animals. I raised different parts on foam pads to give the card some dimension. I did the colouring with polychromos. On a seperate piece of paper I stamped a sentiment (the sentiment is a stamp from Hobby Lobby) and glued it above the stamped scene. I finished the card up with two crystals.

I wish you a wonderful day and happy holidays! xx

Happy holidays

Hello! The big day is just around the corner. Are you excited? I can't wait. Do you have any special tradition for that day? We watch Mr Bean Christmas while eating some yummy food. :) I already have this year's menu planned (well, most of it anyways). And I've already baked most of the cookies. Just one more batch to go. Do you make all the food yourself or do you prefer to buy things in the store so your don't have to worry about that and can relax?

Have you sent all your Christmas cards yet? I have and most of them were already received. Just 2 or 3 that went overseas are still on their way. But I hope those will show up before the big day too.

The card I'm about to show you has already reached its destination. Here it is ...

I was really happy with how this card turned out. I used different stamps from MFT which I fussy cut to create a scene. I did the colouring with polychromos. On the Christmas tree decorations I added some stickles, beause I wanted to make it more festive. :) I embellished the card with some lace, die cuts and a small  wooden star and a pearl. The sentiment is in Slovenian and it means "happy holidays".

Have a magical holiday season wherever you are. All the best to all of you! xx

Joy!

Hello everybody! How are you doing? It's getting really cold here. But then again, it's almost November already. Crazy, right? Where did the time go?

I still have several holiday cards I want to share with you and this is one of them. But before I do that let me tell you about a fab crafty candy my mum has on her blog.

If you want to win some of those markers click here and read what you have to do. ;)

And now let me show you my card...

I was very lucky to receive this super cute penguin stamp from a very sweet lady and I am very grateful to her. I love these adorable penguins, they bring a smile to my face each time I look at them. I hope the person who gets this card will feel the same way.

Again I used the pretty papers from DCWV and I coloured the image with polychromos. Penguins are a Whimsy stamps stamp and presents are The greeting farm stamps. I didn't use any embellishments here (shocking, I now), just a few die cuts.

I used foam pads between the layers to give the card some dimension.

That's it for today. Have a lovely day!

Do you want to share a cookie with me?

Hello everybody! How are you doing?

I promised to share some more cards that I made, so here is the next one. :)

For this one I decided to keep the design simple. I used the adorable Holiday Anya 6 stamp from The greeting farm. I coloured her with polychromos. I didn't add a whole lot of embellishments, just a couple of sequins and some teeny tiny pearls.

I really like the look of CAS cards, but I find them difficult to make. For me making fully loaded cards with lots of layers and embellishments is much easier. What about you?

This is all from me today. I hope you have a wonderful day! xx

Let's have some fun

Hello! How are you doing? I hope everything is fine where you live and that you managed to enjoy this past weekend to the fullest. We sure did. We had such a lovely weather so we couldn't just stay inside - we went for a walk, to the park... And me and the lil one even did some baking. Perfect weekend - lots of fun, relaxing and quality family time. What did you do?

I also managed to squeeze in some crafting time and I created this card...

This card is different from the cards I usually make. In fact, I don't think I've ever made a card like this (the shape) before. But it was really fun to make so I might give it a go another time.

As you can see, I kept the whole design very simple. I like the effect vellum gave and I didn't want to cover it all with embellishments. I created (or at least tried to) a snowy landscape and reindeers having fun around the Christmas tree. It was my lil one who chose the images (and has already claimed the card). ;) I embossed part of the "snow" and raised the reindeer on foam pads for some extra dimension. I did the colouring with polychromos.

Have a wonderful day! xx

Hot chocolate anyone?

Hi everybody! How are you doing? I've been keeping myself busy with day-to-day activities and I've been experimenting in the kitchen. I love cooking and baking and I always keep my eyes out on the new things I can/have to try. So if you have a favourite recipe that you care to share, please do so. :) I was thinking about posting some of the stuff I make in the kitchen here, but then I've decided to keep this blog for my papercrafts (and maybe occassional piece of handmade jewelry) only. However, I'm sharing most of the dishes I make on my instagram so feel free to have a look, if you want. :)

Besides cooking and baking I've also made a couple of cards, which I would like to share with you. You can see the first one below and the others will follow in the upcoming weeks.

So, the first card I want to share with your is a Christmas one. I decided to use one of the super cute images from Severine Aubry on my card - this little fella always brings a smile to my face. :D I definitely wouldn't mind if he came here so we could share a cup of hot chocolate. ;)

I coloured the image with polychromos. I'm on a mission to "shop in my stash", so on this card I used quite a few things that I've had in my stash for what seems like forever - crystals, acetate frame with stars, rub-on sentiment and even the die cut frame is an oldie.

Have you started working on your Christmas projects? Or are you currently hooked on Halloween stuff?

So much for today. Wishing you all a wonderful day! xx

How the holidays start ...

Hello everybody! How are you doing?

Today I want to share with you another Christmas card I made.

I don't have a printer so I very, very rarely use digi stamps, even though I have plenty in my collection. Do you use digi stamps? I know there are several advantages to digi stamps compared to rubber/clear ones (e. g. resizing images to your desired size, price etc.), but even so I prefer the "real" stamping - meaning using a rubber/clear stamp and ink. BUT there are some images that I really, really like that only come as digi stamps. So when I visited my parents one day I asked them if I could use their printer to print a couple of images. One of the images I printed was this cute image from Polkadoodles that I used on the card below.

I coloured the image with polychromos and added some liquid applique on parts of the image to make it more interesting. The papers are from DCWV. I decorated the card with some die cut stars and crystals. The sentiment is a rub-on from Stampin' up. I added some foam pads between the layers for some extra dimension.

I hope you like this card. Have you started on your Christmas cards yet or will you make them later in the year?

Have a wonderful day! xx

Snowy hugs

Hey hey! I have some extra free time and I decided to use it to share a Christmas/holiday card I made. You probably know I love making those to send them out to friends and family during the holiday season. And recently I received some new super cute and fun winter stamps and I can't wait to use them, but you'll have to wait a little bit longer to see cards made with them (I'm a SUPER slow crafter and right now I am quite busy at work). Today I'll share with you another winter/holiday card that I made with one of my favourite holiday images - this adorable snowman from Stamping Bella...

I took the inspiration from the previous two cards I shared with you on my blog - I kept the same design as I used on the card that I shared with you here and I created the same striped background with washi tape as I did on the card I shared with you here. I like how colourful this card is. Might need to make another one like it, even though I usually don't make duplicate (or even more of the same) cards. As usually I did the colouring with polychromos and then I fussy cut the image and raised it on foam pads for some extra dimension.

That's all from me today. Have a lovely day! xx

Black and white Christmas wreath

Hello everybody! How are you doing? I hope everything is well where you live. Do you have any plans for Easter. I'm planing to cook some traditional meals and we will probably colour a few eggs, but that's pretty much it.

I didn't make (or better said: finish) and Easter cards this year. Shame on me, I know. Luckily my lil one saved me - she made quite a few and we sent those to our relatives.

Well, since I don't have any Easter creations to show you you, I thought I'd share with you another Christmas project that I made quite some time ago, but never posted it here.

I made this Christmas wreath from scratch. First I made the base from old newspapers and then covered it with ribbons, Then I made some flowers from ribbon and felt and glued them onto the wreath base. All of the ribbons used on this project are from Crafty ribbons.

So much from me today. Have a wonderful week! xx

Big lacy snowflake

Hello everybody! How are you doing? Good, I hope.

I know that with Easter just around the corner I should probably work on Easter cards, but my lil one is taking care of that this year, so I can work on other cards/projects. I will share those with you a bit later, today I want to show you a Christmas card I made some time ago, but haven't shared it here yet.

To make this card I used papers from Maja design, a WRS snowflake die and some embellishments. I kept the whole design pretty simple. I separated the layers with foam pads to give the card some extra dimension.

Have a wonderful day!

Santa baby

Hello everybody! How are you doing? How was the first month of the year for you? I hope everything has been well for you. I've been pretty busy at work, but I managed to get some crafting done as well. I'll show you what I've been working on soon, but today I would like to show you another Christmas card I made back in December.

You probably know by now that I like the adorable stamps and awesome dies from The Greeting Farm, don't you? Well, I used one of their sweet images and a sentiment die on the card I want to show you today.

On this card I used pretty blue papers from DCWV and a sparkly red cardstock which was actually an old Christmas card, which I recycled. I coloured the image with polychromos, fussy cut it and raised it on foam pads for some dimension. In the left upper corner I glued the sentiment. I finished the card off with some pearls and blue star shaped sequins.

Happy 2021

Hello everybody! Happy New Year! I hope the first week of 2021 has been a good one for you. How did you spend the longest day in the year? For us it was a bit different than the previous years, because we didn't get to visit all the relatives, but it was still nice. The lil one didn't stay up til midnight, but me and my hubby did. Til about 11.30pm we watched The queen's gambit and then we turned on the regular TV. Have you watched The queen's gambit yet? I've had so many people telling me how good it was and that I really should give it a go, so I decided to watch it. And it's really not bad. What are your thoughts on it if you watched it?

I know you are most likely sick and tired of seeing all the Christmas cards already, but there is still one I'd like to show you today.

It's another card I made with the pretty papers from DCWV. And again I used the adorable Mama elephant reindeer images. I did the colouring with polychromos. I printed the sentiment from Word. It's in Slovenian and it means "happy holidays".

Have a lovely day! xx

Jingle all the way

Hello everybody! How many of you are counting the days till THE day? Are you done with all the Christmas baking yet? I've already made several different cookies, but I think I will make another batch in a day or two. I've started thinking about what I'll make for Christmas meal as well, but haven't completely made up my mind yet. Any suggestions? What will you be making?

Here's another Christmas card that I sent out this year. I actually thought it would reach its destination by now, but it hasn't. Hopefully it will get there before Christmas.

I was lucky enough to win these adorable reindeer stamps (with matching dies) some time ago and I just knew I will have to use them on some of my cards this year. They are so cute and they make me smile. :) I coloured the images with polychromos and then cut them out with matching dies and glued them on the card.

It's hard to see in the pictures, but the big snowflake behind the images/sentiment is soooooooo sparkly. It's covered with glitters and it looks really nice in my opinion (you can see the glitters better in the second photo). However, I couldn't resist and had to add even some more bling - I used a crystal string from my stash.

That's it from me for today. Have a wonderful day! :)

We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas ...

Hey hey! How are you doing? I hope you are staying safe and healthy. Do you have any snow where you live? We got a few snowflakes the other day, but not much. It was all gone by the end of the day.

I am back with another holiday card. Once again I used the tree stamp from The Greeting Farm and this time I also included a sentiment stamp from the same set.

Again I used the lovely papers from DCWV and I finished the card off with some bling. I did the colouring with Faber Castell polychromos.

So much from me today. See you again soon! :)
