Not Too Polished - Granger

Hello Everyone!! Today I have a gorgeous polish that has to do with Harry Potter!! hehe I only recently watched all the movies (yes, I was very behind lol), but next I want to read the books!  I think I'd like them!

This polish is named Granger by Not Too Polished, which can be found in her shop on Etsy.  Here is Elizabeth's, the shop owner, description:
Hermione Granger really IS the cleverest witch of her age. Her namesake polish, Granger, is a clever red jelly loaded with multi sized gold holo glitter: Gooo Gryffindor!

I really love this!! It is a red jelly with gold and gold holographic glitters!  There are hexagons, squares, and small gold glitters throughout.  This is 2 coats with Poshe top coat.  It applied extremely well and shows the layered glitter perfectly!  It actually reminds me of a jelly sandwich I've done before, but it is much easier to have it all in one bottle!  Definitely a winner in my book!

You can find more information about Not Too Polished on Facebook.  Keep an eye out for coupon codes, sneak peeks at upcoming colors, or to vote on upcoming ideas! Also, check out her Blog!

Hopefully you can see all the jelly goodness and gold glitter in this zoomed in shot!  It is SUCH a great combo!!

I hope you enjoyed this look at a gorgeous polish!  It is a lot better in person - I probably wouldn't have noticed this in her shop, but I am SO glad I was able to try it!  You can pick up a full size on Etsy for $7.50!!

Have a wonderful day!!

Much Love,
Crystal

The Hungry Asian - Bar Fight

Hello Everyone!  Hope you enjoyed the weekend!! :-)  I didn't make it to the beach :-(  But I was able to relax, read, and watch a movie with Mr. CC!  I have been waiting to watch In Time again (we saw it in theaters) since it came to DVD!  It was finally available on one of the movie channels (HBO I think), so we watched that yesterday afternoon.  That is one of my favorite movies!!  Not only because Justin Timberlake (*swoon*) is in it, but because the concept is just awesome!  I liked everything about it!  Glad to finally rewatch it!

Today I have a gorgeous polish by The Hungry Asian, called Bar Fight (how cute is the little smiley face with the X over the eye! lol!)  This is a black jelly with blue glitter.  I layered 2 coats over 1 coat of ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly (matte).  I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite to give it some gloss!

You can purchase this and many others from Kae on Etsy, http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheHungryAsian. Regular bottles are $9.25 and minis are $4.50.  Also, she regularly updates her Facebook and her blog, http://www.thehungryasian.com/.

I love The Hungry Asian polishes!  Kae is awesome at quick shipping and adorable packaging!  I can tell she puts a lot of love and effort into her products!  I highly recommend her shop, especially all the unique colors she has to offer!  I have been eyeing a few others, so I can't wait to order! ;-)

I hope you all have a great day!

Much Love,
Crystal

Not Too Polished - Bone with Windestine - Jeweled Sand

Hi everyone!!  I know I posted Bone by Not Too Polished yesterday, but I had tried this combo of it with Windestine Jeweled Sand and had to show you guys!  I actually was having computer/picture problems last night, so this is just a quick post!  And since these were taken one of the days the sun was stubborn, I plan to redo this combo because I love it so much!  I figured a repetitive post is better than no post, right?  Thanks for bearing with me :-) hehe

Ok, so same as yesterday's post, I used 2 coats along with Seche Vite top coat. I applied a thinner coat first, then went with the thicker second coat.  Not Too Polished can be purchased on Etsy at their shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/nottoopolished. On Etsy, there is the follow message:

I am aware that some of my polishes have had issues in the past, and I am working on contacting all buyers of the problematic polishes to fix them. Please know that customer satisfaction is my biggest concern. I use high quality suspension base in all my glitters. My polishes contain only stainless steel- NOT zinc coated- mixing beads. And my glitters undergo a rigorous testing process. If you are EVER unsatisfied with a polish, please contact me for replacement or exchange- I want you to be completely happy with your Not Too Polished colors!

Next, I did a tape mani using Jeweled Sand by Windestine.  You can shop on Freda's Etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/windestine.  I received excellent customer service and would highly recommend her creations!  Her glitter combinations are absolutely stunning and even prettier in person!  Her shop is currently closed, but hopefully she will be opening again soon!  You can keep in touch with updates on her Facebook.

I actually got this idea for this combo from http://www.the-nail-network.com/ because I fell in love with the simplicity of the light nude color with the Jeweled Sand!  You can see her post, HERE!  I was determined to get Jeweled Sand after I saw that ;-)

So again, sorry for the short post and lack of pictures.  This combination is WAY too pretty to only have 2 pics :-( haha don't worry - I will redo and repost more pictures soon!  Hope you love it ;-)

Have a fabulous day!

Much Love,
Crystal

Not Too Polished - Bone and The House of Black & White

Hello!!! Today I have a combo using two gorgeous colors by Not Too Polished!!  For the past two days, I got home from the gym and was ready for swatching!  However, the sun thought otherwise and disappeared on me as soon as I had my nails painted!! So I apologize that Bone has no sun pics :-(  But The House of Black & White I managed to get a couple because it peeked back out for a bit before going down!

Bone is simply stunning.  I honestly don't know what else to say.  It is such an elegant nude, I can see myself wearing this all the time!!  I think it would flatter just about any skin tone, just because of it's creamy beige color.  It would blend nicely with the lighter skin tones and pop with darker skin.  I wasn't sure if I could pull it off since I am so fair, but it really gave me a simple, clean look!  It has just the right about of white in it that it is noticeable, but it isn't stark.  It is named perfectly, because it does remind me of the bones on one of those skeletons you see in classrooms! lol

I used 2 coats along with Seche Vite top coat.  I applied a thinner coat first, then went with the thicker second coat.  Sometimes with creams, they can be hard to apply, so make sure to use even brush strokes and press lightly, letting the polish apply itself with very little pressure.  I try not to go over an area more than once, because that can cause streaking too.  This happens for a lot of creams for me, but I think this evened out well at 2 coats.  Seche Vite also smooths it out for a flawless look.

Next I applied 1 coat of The House of Black & White with another coat of Seche Vite.  This is such a fun glitter top coat!  I loved the look of this over Bone!  It gave me the impression of salt and pepper! :-)  There are small white and black glitters along with large black and holographic hexagons.  The base is also dusted with holographic particles that catch the light brilliantly.  The subtle shimmer and shine of the holographic glitters really make this polish special!  The black hexagons remind me of spots :-)

I really enjoyed these two colors, and loved how they looked together too!  I can't wait to use these with other combinations as well!  I hope you enjoyed this Indie brand!  This has been a new one for me and I can't wait to try other shades!  There are so many in the shop that catch my eye!

Have a great day!

KBShimmer Elle

KBShimmer Elle - 3 coats
Hello!  I want to wish a Happy Birthday to my gorgeous, amazing Sister, Rachel!!!  I will see her tonight to celebrate!!  Anyone have exciting plans for the weekend!?  I got sunburned on Wednesday, but didn't really notice it much...until yesterday at work!  Looks like I'll be applying LOTS of sunscreen if I dare go out in the sun this weekend!! hehe

Also, you guys know I read each and every comment right?  I have been feeling the love lately and just want to say THANK YOU!  I am really bad about commenting back, but I hope you all do know how much I appreciate them!  I spend all day on my computer at work, so it makes me lazy to get on it at home.  It's a bad excuse, I know, but I will try to get better at that!  I often say how much social media wears me out - there are just too many things to catch up with!  I love it so much, I love connecting with everyone, and I love how many amazing people I have met!  You all are spectacular!  So all I did last night was lay in bed and read my book, which really didn't give my eyes a break, but mentally gave me some escape!! :-) haha  Hopefully you know where I'm coming from!  In my About Me section, I list many ways to get a hold of me, so if I ever miss a question you have, badger me - I promise I won't mind!  Sometimes I miss things and don't mean to!

Ok, back to polish! Today I have a gorgeous KBShimmer polish to show you!  This is from the Circus Collection, called Elle.  It is such a unique combination!  I love the pink and grey together!!  Here is the description for Elle:  "The circus, full of fun, color, and a wonder for people of all ages. Lions, tigers, and elephants! Elle is our nail polish elephant. A pale grey color, we added several pink glitters, white and grey glitters for a polish that soft and beautiful."   I love the tiny little pink speckles in there!  You see them!?  This is 3 coats of Elle with Seche Vite top coat.

I ordered from Harlow & Co. and received this very quickly!! These are listed as $9 each. A few are still in stock! Purchases over $50 are free shipping to anywhere!

You can also order through KBShimmer direct on her website. Polishes are listed as $8.50. Also, Christy, the owner, has an Etsy site, http://www.etsy.com/shop/KBShimmer. She sells more than just polish! She makes lotions, soaps, scrubs, bath bombs and lip balms! On her website, she does have a note for orders:
Please note, depending on the amount of orders, shipping for nail polish may take 7-10 Business days. I will be on vacation from 06/18-07/01 and will not be shipping orders during that time. Please do not count those dates in your estimated shipping timeframe. I do have a good stock of polish made, but if sales exceed my projections, I will have to make stock. I will contact you if for some reason I can not fill part of your order or expect a longer shipping delay. I will process in the order received, and will not be combining orders. I will refund shipping overages for PayPal orders per my policies; credit card orders will have shipping adjusted when cards are processed. I have added a flat rate shipping option, I can fit up to 12 polishes via this method.
Next I did 2 coats of Zoya Dove for my base.  Then added 1 coat of Elle and topped it with Seche Vite.

This was such a fun color!  I love that it's the perfect Elephant Grey :-)

Hope you all enjoy the weekend!  I know they go so quick, so do something fun, even if it's just putting your feet up and watching a great movie!!! hehe

Much Love,
Crystal

Happy 4th of July!!!

Hey Everyone!!  Happy 4th of July!!! :-)  Here is my Patriotic Mani!!!  I love how it turned out!  I wish I could have had straighter lines though (using tape), but the sun was about to set on me!! hehe ;-)  So it was done free hand instead!  I decided to take step by step photos for you!  I haven't done anything really like this before, so be gentle with me! :-)

First I did 2 coats of Orly Au Champagne, which I bought from Sally's Beauty Supply.  This is a gorgeous, slightly off white, satin matte polish.  This is probably one of my favorite whites!  I love the sheen to it and how it looks great matte or shiny!  (please excuse my pinky :-(  I bumped it and since racing against the sun, I left it since it'd be covered anyway!)

So next up is Cult Nails Tied Up!  This is SUCH a glossy, beautiful blue!  I did one brush stroke, with no top coat - see, gorgeous right?  It's kind of a jelly like base, where you can see the lighting effects the way it looks.

You can purchase Cult Nails at http://shop.cultnails.com/ and stay up to date with info through Facebook!

Next up is Zoya Sooki!  Again, I used one brush stroke to cover the other side of the nail.  I like that doesn't have any orange to it, as it's more on the pink side, but overall, a very true red.

You can purchase Sooki from https://www.artofbeauty.com/rd/0127947B - This is a Share the Love link, which is a way for me to earn points through them! So cool for me, but you guys can get something too! See what Zoya wrote: Remember EVERYONE WINS with "Share the Love": When someone clicks on your personal link and sets up an online account, a $5 coupon a coupon for a FREE Bottle of Zoya Nail Polish will automatically be placed in their account and can be used immediately on their current order. TIP: If you use this coupon and add 2 more polishes to your order, you get free shipping too! The coupon will appear in the "My Coupons/ Promos" section of their "My Account" Page.

And last, I wanted to add some SPARKLE!  I used Pride from Nostalgic nail lacquer.  This was a part of the limited edition 7 Deadly Sins of Summer collection (based on the 7 deadly sins).  I actually refreshed quite a bit to get this beauty!!  I was very lucky!  Since this was limited edition, it is no longer available, but she does have many other amazing colors in her shop!  You can find Erin's shop at http://nostalgicnaillacquer.com/.  She is out of stock currently, and did recently start a wish list system.  You can visit her blog, http://thesugarcubeblog.blogspot.com/, for updates and more information!
Erin describes this gorgeous glitter on her site: "Pride is a patriotic mixture of red, white and blue glitters in various shapes and sizes, topped off with a hearty dose of star shaped glitter!"

I felt like this mani could be retro and decided to play around with the settings for color! I absolutely love the vintage feel to this photo!

Well I hope all you US friends are enjoying the Holiday!  And to all others, hope you enjoyed a little fun for a Patriotic mani!!  Have a great day!

Much Love,
Crystal
