GOSH Ocean and Miss Minty

Today I have the last two GOSH polishes!  I hope you've enjoyed seeing them and a few comparisons!!  First up is Ocean.  It is a beautiful, mermaid like polish that has a duochrome from greenish teal to a blue.  In the bottle you can see some purple, but unfortunately most of that is lost on the nail.  For the pictures, I used 2 coats and 1 coat of Poshe.  In the pictures, the brush strokes are visible, but in person, it wasn't as obvious.  The color is very bright though, as it almost glows on the nails!

A tiny bit of the purplish coming through!

Next is Miss Minty.  I believe I used 2 coats (forgot to write it down, sorry!) with 1 coat of Poshe.  This color is a nice cream.  I don't have anything this light of a teal, but it is slightly lighter than China Glaze Crushed Candy (Crackle), which should be similar to For Audrey.  I've wanted For Audrey for a while, just haven't picked it up.  If I do in the future, I will do a comparison :-)

Below I thought OPI Metallic 4 Life would look awesome over this shade, but it actually didn't look as good as I wanted, so I only did one nail.  I think the black jelly looked too streaky over it.  I bet a nice sparkle would be pretty layered over this though!

I hope you enjoyed all the pictures!  I do have another comparison for Gosh Rusty, but I haven't done that yet.  I have lots of other great manis coming up too!  I had a request for China Glaze Techno, so I hope to do that this weekend.  I am going to compare that to a few other glitters I have too!  Also, I'm excited to share with you more of Pretty & Polished!  So many fun posts coming up! :-)

Have a great weekend!!

Much Love,
Crystal

GOSH Purple Heart VS Zoya Ki

A bit blurry, but you get the idea of color :-)

Today I have a comparison post of GOSH Purple Heart VS Zoya Ki.  These two are similar in their shift from purple, to a greyish, to green.  Purple Heart is a tad darker in color, but also a thicker formula.  I almost could have gotten away with 1 coat!  But I did 2 coats for the pictures with 1 coat of Poshe.  This is on my Middle and Pinky fingers.  Ki is a lot more sheer.  But when I have sheer polishes, I think they are great for layering!  I used 3 coats for the pictures along with 1 of Poshe.  You will see in the pictures how there is a difference in color, but overall the two are very similar.  At first when I looked at the bottles, I thought they would be perfect dupes!  However, I realize how how sheer Ki is and it does show on the nail.

On a side note, my Mom, Sister, and I went to see The Vow!  I just love Rachel McAdams! :-)  I won't tell you about the movie, other than I liked it!  I had no idea what to expect, but in thinking it over, I want to watch it again.  That usually to mean means a great movie.  I don't think anything will ever top The Notebook though.  Rachel McAdams and the gorgeous Ryan Gosling are forever my favorite movie couple!  lol  Ok...on to the pictures!

I'd say Purple Heart is awesome if you only need a quick 1, maybe 2 coat mani, but I think Ki is more shimmery and has a bit more duochrome to it.  Both give the duochrome effect though, which is always awesome!  And I love both brushes! haha I'm not sure when I got so picky about a brush, but either way, I feel like both Zoya and GOSH give me more precision with their smaller brushes.

We're getting closer to the weekend!! I'm sure I have lots to do, but hopefully I'll sneak in a movie or something!  Hope you enjoyed my comparison!

Much Love,
Crystal

Gosh Gasoline VS OPI Grape...Set...Match

Bottle Comparisons, blurred a bit, but you can see they have a similar finish.

Another bottle comparison

Today I have for you a comparison of GOSH Gasoline and OPI Grape...Set...Match.   In the bottle, I could tell that GSM would be a tad off because it has this goldish shift to it.  Gasoline seems to be a little bit more on the silver side of shimmer instead of gold.  GSM only needed 2 coats, 1 Poshe, but Gasoline needed 3 coats, 1 Poshe.  Gasoline is more of a jelly consistency.  Both have a glass fleck finish.  GSM is a tad darker, but overall, I think it's a good substitute if you can't find GOSH near you.  I believe the Serena Williams duos can still be found online.

Also, today is the extra day of February since it's Leap Year!  So I was chatting with a few ladies on Twitter today...what happens when you don't have 2/29 to celebrate your birthday?!  They said family/friends celebrate it either 2/28 or 3/1.  I guess that makes sense, but I would celebrate both days then!  I read an article about it and I guess it does cause a problems for some born on 2/29 if they have to fill out forms and such!  I guess some computer programs don't acknowledge 2/29 as an actual date, so if you write that as your birthday, they can't process it.  I can't imagine my birthday not being on a calendar.  That seems unfair!  I don't know why I've never thought of that before.  But anyway, that is my little tangent for today!  If you Google, I'm sure there will be lots about birthdays on 2/29.  So if you or someone you know has a birthday today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!  Hope you celebrated yesterday, today, then again tomorrow :-)

blurred comparison

Below is the slight shift I was referring to earlier.  It seems like it turns more of a pink (gold doesn't really transfer to nail) when tilted at an angle.

Overall, I think both colors are beautiful!  I can notice the differences but I'm sure the everyday person wouldn't.  I think Gasoline would be great to layer!  I plan to try that out in the future.  To me, the color is different, but so is the texture of the polish.  As I said before, Gasoline seems to have more of a jelly finish, and may have not even needed a top coat.  I could tell the OPI GSM needed a top coat though, it dried almost flat, not very glossy at all.

I hope you enjoyed my comparison!  Tomorrow will be a GOSH Purple Heart comparison!

Have a great day!

GOSH Gasoline and Purple Heart

Gasoline - 3 Coats, 1 Coat Poshe

Today I have more GOSH polishes for you!  These colors are so awesome too!  I really wish the GOSH brand was available in the US!  I would buy all of their colors!  Lindsay from Polish & Diamonds was kind enough to swap with me for these!! ;-)

Gasoline is a gorgeous shimmer that is purple, but you can see hints of blue and pink in it.  It was extremely hard for my camera to pick this color up!  I know in the bottle it is more purple, but I definitely could see the fuschia color on the nail.  This is 3 coats of Gasoline and 1 coat of Poshe.

Now I personally think that they switched to two names for these polishes!  Gasoline should be the murky green to purple color!  Even the bottle has color swirls like you'd seen in gasoline!  And Purple Heart can be the shimmer one above, I guess because it reminds me of Valentine's Day and it has shimmer of purple, blue, and pink.  Oh well!  I guess that's the names they wanted!  Hope I didn't confuse anyone with my rambling ;-)  lol

Purple Heart - 2 Coats, 1 Coat Poshe

Purple Heart is a gorgeous duochrome!  It changes from purple, to a grey, to a green.  This is 2 coats with 1 coat of Poshe.  It also has a nice shimmer through it, nothing to bold, but just enough to keep the polish looking even more interesting than the color shift.  Plenty of pictures to see all the different shades of color from this gorgeous bottle!

See the bottle!?  It looks like gasoline! lol

So do you love these colors?  Me too.  And I'm sure some of you are sad because you don't have GOSH anywhere near you.  But you're in luck!  I *think* I have found some dupes for these, so look for that post in the next couple of days.  I'm not sure if I'll do the last two GOSH polishes or my comparisons yet.   Leave me a comment if you prefer one over the other!

Hope you enjoyed more swatches of GOSH!  ;-)

Much Love,
Crystal
