Sakura Yuzen Paper Pendents

I love the beautiful Yuzen Papers at Sakurua Hobby Craft. It was fun deciding what portion of the pattern from each sheet of Yuzen paper to use in my pendents.

The bezel cup pendents pictured here are from Sakura, Black Coated Square and the White Brass Circle with the Sakura Ball Chain (which is currently on sale). Experiment with  the papers and Sakura Crystal LacquerThe fan pictured in the square bezel is from the top paper in the package  below. As you can see there isn't any black in the paper.   The combination of the paper and Sakura Crystal Lacquer created a new look on the black bezel.

I used the Earthly Serenity in my pendents.  Each Yuzen Paper Set comes with six (6) beautiful Yuzen Papers. Each sheet is 8" x 11".

To make each pendent cut the Yuzen Paper to fit the bezel cup.  In the bottom of the bezel put a small amount of Sakura Crystal Lacquer to act as a glue to hold the Yuzen Paper in place.  Around the edge of the bezel apply a bead of Sakura Crystal Lacquer. Pour an abundant amount of seed beads in the bezel and work as many as you can into the Sakura Crystal Lacquer around the edge.  Remove any remaining beads.  Add Sakura Crystal Lacquer to cover the entire bezel.  Let dry overnight up to 24 hours, depending how thick the lacquer is and humidity.

The Bottle Cap Inc Pendents

Using Bottle Caps from from Bottle Cap Ink. This pendent has a holiday feel with the red, green and gold colors. A one inch punch is the perfect size for the bottle caps.

The sheet this came from has red, green and purple flowers.

For the final pendent I intentionally cut the paper to get the pinks from dark to light in the background.

Cut images from sheet of Graphic 45 the Magic of Oz Spread Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer on the back of the Fancy Glass to adhere image. Set aside to dry. Adhere bails to the back using Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer.
Gently with emery board remove any excess paper. Add seed beads to the edge with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer.

Or leave the edges plain.  What a great gift for that person who loves all things "OZ"

Sakura Crystal Lacquer - Paris Gift Tag

I LOVE PAIRS!!!!
This tag would make a great embellishment on a package or gift bag for a special occasion!

For the tag I cut a section of a napkin with the Eiffel Tower to use for the front of the tag. Separate the napkin layers (usually 3).  Moisten a Q-tip and outline the areas of the napkin to tear making uneven edges.  Cut canvas 5x7, fray edges by pulling threads.  On the front side, cover canvas with Sakura Crystal Lacquer mixed and Terri Sproul Mixers - Citrine Pearl.  Carefully lay the Eiffel Tower portion of the napkin on the lacquer.  Once the napkin touches it is there to stay (try to move and it will tear).  Layer lace on the canvas using Sakura Crystal Lacquer.  Add Glitter Glitz to the lacquer mix and paint over lace and around edges.  Let it dry before working on the back.  When dry the canvas will be stiff.

On the back use Sakura Crystal Lacquer with Terri Sproul Mixers Aquamarine Pearl (the color from the front side distorted the color and it looks green). On the painted canvas add a piece of sheet music, ledger paper and a section of the napkin, cover with the lacquer.  Sprinkle with fine glitter.  Adhere fabric and flowers with Sakura Crystal Lacquer. Dry throughly, preferably over night.
Center top punch a hole and set eyelet. Add a swivel clasp with chain. Tie ribbons on the clasp. Now you have a beautiful tag to adorn your gift!

JEWEL-TOP GIFT TIN BOX

I just cannot wait to fill this with a gift for my BFF.  This Jewel Tin Box took longer to make only because of the drying time in-between steps so let's get started:
 Supplies needed:
Sakura 3-D Crystal Lacquer ~ Sakura Square Tin Box ~ Tattered Angels Glass (acrylic) Flourish ~ Chunky Aged Silver Glitter (or you can use silver seed beads) ~ Mixed Blue and Green Seed Beads ~ Scissors.
Instructions:

1.)  Using Scissors, Cut Flourish  to fit top of Tin Box.  Let Dry Completely.

2.)  Sakura 3-D Crystal Lacquer is the only adhesive or glue you will need and you will begin by applying it to the backside of cut Flourish and set onto top of Tin Box.  Then, taking a small section at a time, apply Crystal Lacquer to Top of Flourish, generously sprinkle with Silver Glitter and tap-off excess.  Repeat until entire Flourish is covered.  Let Dry Completely.

3.)  Repeat step #2 only this time you will be applying Colored Seed Beads to the negative space on Tin Box.  Let Dry Completely, then fill with Hand made Jewelry, Gift Card for your BFF...or Mom.

That's it, you are done.  Try using your favorite colors or if giving it away, the favorite colors of lucky recipient.  Be creative and above all, have fun because 'art should never hurt.'
Keep Smiling, Carol

ANCHORS AWAY PENDANT NECKLACE

I was cleaning out my gift wrap cabinet and found a piece that had all these wonderful images.  Immediately I knew I would be making a Pendant Charm out of it. I'm sure you've seen them around, but you cannot believe how easy it is to make.  So, let's get started.
     Tools and Supplies needed:
Sakura Hobby Craft:  Rectangular Glass Gem, 2 Bales and 3-D Crystal Lacquer
Jewelers pliers
Graphic (I used image from gift wrap paper)
Printed WORDS (I used my computer to print: Bon Voyage
Charm for bottom of Pendant
Silver
2 Split Rings
Lobster Claw Fastener
Memory Foil Tape
    Instructions:
1.  Cut Graphic (image) to fit Rectangular Glass Gem.  Adhere WORDS to Graphic.
2.  Add a small amount of 3-D Crystal Lacquer to back of Gem and apply Graphic.  Let it dry.
(if graphic is translucent, add white paint to backside of graphic).
3.  Apply Bales (one on Top and one on Bottom, centered) over graphic with more 3-D Crystal
Lacquer, and coat entire back of graphic.  Let it dry.
4.  Wrap Memory Foil Tape to sides and burnish edges (I used a Bone Folder tool).
5.  Add Split Rings to Bales.
6.  Add Lobster Claw Fastener to Top and Charm to Bottom.
That's it, you're done.  Simply attach to a chain or strand of Pearls and dazzle all your friends when you tell them that you made it.
Happy creating and keep smiling, Carol
