Happy 4th of July ~ Patriotic Gnome ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
Sharing one more card for Unity's latest release. I just had to play with the awesome new Patriotic Gnome! How stinkin' cute is this guy?! And he was so fun to color up, too!

I've had these patriotic papers in my stash for awhile. Not sure where they came from but I really thought they would be fun to use with the awesome new Tab Fold {Fun Fold Die}. So I die cut the inside striped papers and the firecracker papers and then I didn't want to use either of those again for the tab and then I remembered Unity released a patriotic paper pack with an old Whit Kit. I went searching through my stash and found it! Actually, it wasn't much of a search it's called Americana Vibes {paper pack} so it was first in my Unity paper pack box since it's organized alphabetically. LOL

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used for Patriotic Gnome:
Skin: E000, E00, E11
Hair / Mustache / Beard: C00, C1, C3
Hat / Clothes / Sneakers: B91, B93, B95, C00, C1, C3, R20, R14, R46
Flowers: C1, Y15, YG11, YG23, R14, R46
Grass: YG11, YG23

I didn't want the tab to cover up the gnome so I used a ruler and pencil to draw a line where I wanted to cut an opening. I laid my card open and flat on my mat and used a Fiskars Fingertip Control Craft Knife along my ruler to cut out the line. I ended up having to extend the cut a tiny bit on either end but it fits perfectly. Super easy too.

Here you can see the tab pulled out.
The sentiment was stamped with Black Amalgam ink and then die cut using the smallest die from the Postage Stamp {nesting dies}. I added foam tape to the back and popped it up on the card.

Here you can see the inside of the card. I think I may die cut a panel of white card stock to insert here. Maybe I'll use the Postage Stamp {nesting dies} to coordinate with the sentiment on the front of the card. Oh, and maybe I'll stamp another Patriotic Gnome and add him inside the card too.

So the firecracker papers were a little too busy... I didn't just want to adhere the Patriotic Gnome over top and him get lost in the firecrackers so I die cut a circle from vellum card stock using a die from the Scallops & Circles {nesting dies}. Such a fun card to make. Hope you have an ink-tastic day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Inky hugs,
Crystal

Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 19 ~ Sweet Easter Gnome with Egg Hunt ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing more inspiration for the TOPII Sketch 19 for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Facebook group. A sweet Easter card using one of the adorable gnomes in the Sweet Easter Gnome stamps from Unity Stamp Co.

I'm still trying to finish off the paper pack I found last week. It may take longer to finish off this paper pack only using one strip of pattern paper per card for this sketch though! LOL! I did also use a scrap of white card stock from my old Scrapping for Less days. It's just slightly different from the Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink that I used for my card base. I think it's still ok.

I stamped the adorable gnome and sentiment using Black Amalgam ink from Gina K. Designs and copic colored the gnome. I also stamped three eggs using stamps from the Egg Hunt stamps. I stamped them using Kitsch Flamingo, Salvaged Patina, and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide inks.

Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used:

Skin: E000, E00, E11
Beard: C00, C1, C3
Hat / Feet: C00, C1, C3, RV0000, RV10, RV13
Easter Egg: Y11, Y15, Y35, RV0000, RV10, RV13, BG0000, BG11, BG01

Here's a look at the fun sketch for Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 19. The sketch, as always, is meant to inspire not require. So let the sketch lead in your design, but don't feel limited by it. I have another fun idea for a card to share next week using the sketch. And then I may only have tiny pattern papers bits to play with... so I'll have to figure out what I'll do with those this time.

I fussy cut the gnome and cleaned up the edges by coloring them with a Memento Tuxedo black marker. I also fussy cut the eggs but I left a thin white border around the eggs. I adhered them all together and then adhered them to the card. I popped up the sentiment with foam tape. A pretty simple but cute card for my Easter card stash! Woohoo!

I hope you're inspired to play along with the sketch... and maybe even use up some of those paper scraps and/or paper pads! Have a wonderful week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

'Scraps' Birthday Cards ~ Grin & Purr Plus a Few More Stamps ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I finally finished up the 'scraps' cards I've been working on using up all the leftover papers I've mentioned the last couple of weeks. I was able to make four more birthday cards using strips and pieces of the pattern papers leftover from the TOP Inky Inspiration cards I created earlier this month. Next week I'll be sharing one last card for the Tawny Owl Paperie Inky Inspiration Sketch 18 and I'm going to pick another pack of papers that will be my focus to finish up. Have you used up any of your pattern paper scraps? I hope you're inspired to join me and finish up all these paper scraps we have taking up space.

My first two cards. These are all very simple designs.

For my first card I was able to add blocks of pattern paper to a 4 x 5-1/4" piece of thin white card stock. I did have a couple bits and pieces hang off of the card stock that I'll admit I cut off and threw away. They were too small to do anything with and it actually felt good to allow myself to let them go. To cover up the line in the middle of the card I die cut a ric rac piece from white card stock and adhered it. I think it works well for covering up that ugly line and it adds a little something to the card. For this card, I stamped the awesome new Grin & Purr stamp that just released over at Unity. I LOVE this cat! Oh my gosh! And the sentiments are so purr-fect!! LOL!

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the kitty:

Ears: R00, R20
Eyes: C00, C1, C3
Fur: W00, W1, W3
Bow Tie: V12, V15, V17 and white gel pen

My second card was created using up a bunch of the strips of the pattern paper. This was so fun to put together. I tried a few different arrangements of the papers but settled on this one. I like the contrast of the papers. I adhered all the strips to a 4-1/4 x 5" piece of a thin white card stock. Trimmed off the excess from the edges (which wasn't a lot, actually) and tossed them in the trash. Yup! So freeing! I adhered the card front to a white A2 top fold card base. I didn't want to cover up the papers so I stamped the Bevy of Balloons background stamp just focusing on the larger middle balloon. I blended some Wilted Violet Distress Oxide around the balloon. I stamped the sentiment from the Cheers & Confetti set. And then just fussy cut it out. Added some white baker's twine and popped up the balloon on the card with some foam tape.

My next two cards. Also simple designs.

My third card finished up the larger scraps I had. I actually cut the larger polka dots paper to adhere on either side of the other paper strips. Again, I adhered all the papers to a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" card front of thin white card stock that I trimmed down to 4 x 5-1/4" and adhered to a white A2 top fold card base. Now, for this card I didn't want to cover up much of the papers so I chose Winnie the Pooh: Pooh Just Knew. It wasn't too big and the balloon worked well with the balloons in the papers. I die cut Pooh and Piglet using the coordinating die (doesn't look like it's in stock right now). The sentiment is from the Rainbow Birthday stamps... love these stamps! Great sentiments, too!

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color Pooh & Piglet:

Pooh: Y11, Y15
Piglet: RV10, RV13, RV04
Balloon: V000, V12, V15
Butterfly: BG11, BG32, Y15

And my last card... a hodgepodge of the papers I had left. These didn't quite fit on a full card front. I adhered them to a white A2 top fold card base. I chose the adorable Life's a Party Gnome. Isn't he just the cutest?! I colored him up using colors from the papers. I didn't want to cover up all the papers in the background so I die cut an oval using the Oval Frames Die Set from Newton's Nook Designs. I fussy cut the gnome leaving a skinny white border around him. Adhered him to the vellum and then adhered the vellum oval to the card by applying glue just behind the gnome. To finish off this card, I added a few yellow enamel dots from the Wish Upon a Star Enamel Dots from Echo Park Paper.

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the gnome:

Skin: E000, E00, E11
Beard: C00, C1, C3
Shoes: N1, N3, N5
Cake Hat: E21, E23, E25
Frosting: BG11, BG32, RV13, Y15
Candle: Y11, Y15, YR16
Banner: RV10, RV13

Four more birthday cards for my stash! Woohoo! What do you think of the simple designs? I think they turned out nice. So happy to have finished off a pack of papers though!! Excited to pick out another one and get creative. I hope you've been inspired to pull out some of those papers scraps and finish off some paper packs. Have a wonderful week!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Crystal

Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ Chillin' Gnomies ~ Colorado Craft Company

 Hello there crafty friend!
I'm back with my second card for the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party! I just checked the link ups and there's already 59 entries!! Woohoo!!That's so awesome! It was so much fun checking out the inspiration shared yesterday for the start of the Linky Party. Today I'm sharing a card using a sweet stamp set from return Sponsor Colorado Craft Company.

I used the super fun and adorable Chillin' Gnomies Stamp Set for this card. All these fun images were so fun to color up! And then I had a blast building a fun scene! I stamped all the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Here's a quick list of the Copic Markers I used to color up all these images:

Santa Gnome: E000, E00, E11, R20, R14, R46, C00, C1, C3, Y11, Y15, Y28, N0, N1, N3, N5
Bunny: W00, W1, W3, W5, R00, R20
Penguins: C00, C1, N0, N1, N3, N5, YR21, YR15, YR24
Polar Bear: C00, C1, C3, R00, R20, Y11, Y15, Y28, R20, R14,
Sled: R20, R14, R46, E51, E53, E55, E57
Gift: YG11, G24, G46, Y11, Y15, Y28

I paired up these cuties with a vintage paper in my stash called Pine St. Square from The Paper Studio that I got a long time ago at Hobby Lobby. I thought the vintage vibe of the sled worked well with these papers. I die cut the holly paper using the Cloudy Frames Dies from our return Sponsor Pink & Main. The die that I used isn't available anymore but here's one that is similar... Diagonal Cover Dies

I also die cut a piece of black card stock using the Cloudy Frames Dies and then I splattered it with white acrylic paint for a snowy night sky. I adhered all my layers together using iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from our wonderful Sponsor Therm O Web. I cleaned up the edges of the fussy cut images by coloring them with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker. To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment on white card stock, trimmed it up and adhered it to the card.

Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party ~ 3 Times as Merry ~ Unity Stamp Co.

Hello there crafty friend!
I'm so excited to share my first card for the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party!! For my first card I'm featuring the awesome new 3 Times as Merry stamps from Sponsor Unity Stamp Co. How stinkin' cute is this Santa gnome! Love him!

I challenged myself a bit and just reached randomly into my Christmas papers and I grabbed the Let it Snow 6x6 Paper Pad from Doodlebug Design Inc. Luckily there were papers that worked well with my colored gnome. I used three different pattern papers from the pad for my background. I adhered my pattern paper layers to a white A2 top fold card base using the iCraft UltraBond Adhesive from Sponsor Therm O Web.

The 3 Times as Merry Santa gnome was stamped with Black Amalgam ink from Sponsor Gina K. Designs. I colored him up with the following Copic Markers:

Nose ~ E000, E00, E11
Beard / White Accents ~ C00, C1, C3
Hat / Glove / Coat ~ R20, R14, R46
Shoes ~ N0, N1, N3, N5, N7
Tree ~ YG11, G24, G46, E53, E55, E57, E59
Red Ornaments ~ R20, R14, R46
Star / Yellow Ornaments ~ Y06, Y15, Y38
Blue Ornaments ~ B000, B02
Green Ornaments ~ YG11, YG03
House Ornament ~ R20, R14, R46, C00, C1

I die cut a piece of white card stock using the largest die from the Stitched Arch STAX dies from My Favorite Things. Blended a bit of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks in the center of the die cut. Fussy cut Santa gnome leaving a white border and popped him up on the card using a bunch of iCraft 3D Foam Squares from Therm O Web. I love the dimension the foam gives to the card! The sentiment was also stamped with Black Amalgam ink. Trimmed it and mat it with a piece of pattern paper from the paper pad.

My card was inspired by a past sketch - {BYSHC} Sketch 16! I turned the sketch, omitted the mats for the paper layers, and shifted the sentiment. But I think you can still see the how the sketch influenced the design of my card. Have you visited the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers Facebook group? We host a fun sketch challenge each month to inspire our holiday cardmaking ALL YEAR LONG. No more stressing out during the holiday season to get those cards done! And I love revisiting the sketches and will likely be sharing a few during the Linky Party.

Yay!! I'm also a Sponsor for the Falling for the Holidays 2023 {BYSHC} Linky Party and this is the fabulous prize package that I am offering for one lucky winner with a $45 retail value. Woot woot!! For a chance to win this fun prize make a Christmas card and link it up to the linky party blog post on the Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers blog.

Membership Wednesday ~ August 2023 Uniquely Unity Gnome-O-Ween ~ Unity Stamp Co.

  Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing an adorable Halloween card using the super cute gnomes from the fantastic August 2023 Uniquely Unity membership from Unity called Gnome-O-Ween. I just love these super cute stamps!!

I knew that I wanted to use all of these cute gnomes and the Stitched Circle Plate Background die from Gina Marie Designs has been on my desk just waiting to be used... the perfect pair up! I ink smooshed a quick background using Seedless Preserves, Twisted Citron and Black Soot on Stampers Select White card stock from Papertrey Ink. I die cut True Black card stock using the background die. And then adhered them together.

The gnomes are all stamped with Black Amalgam ink and I colored them up with the following Copic markers:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11
White Beards ~ C00, C1, C3
Orange ~ YR21, YR15, YR68
Green ~ YG11, G14
Purple ~ V000, V12, V05
Black ~ N0, N1, N3, N5
Brown ~ E51, E55, E57, E59

I die cut the sentiment using the smallest die from the Scallops & Squares Nesting Dies and also die cut a True Black piece of card stock using the next size up in the dies. I adhered them together and then adhered the sentiment directly to the card. I added foam tape to each of the gnomes and popped them up on the card. So happy to be adding cards to my Halloween stash.

Here's a quick look at the Uniquely Unity membership this month! Aren't they just the cutest?! Well, that's it for me today! I'll be back in two weeks with inspiration for the August 2023 Whit Kit. I hope you'll give me a visit and check out what I share! Until then have an ink-tastic day!

Happy Father's Day ~ BBQ Gnome ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
I have a cute mini slimline Father's Day card to share today using a super cute new stamp that just released over at Unity Stamp Co. I kept the design simple for this one... pretty much CAS {Clean & Simple} but with a bit of color in the background.

I just adore this new BBQ Gnome from Unity. He's so cute with his spatula and BBQ sauce. And so much fun to color!

Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the cute gnome:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, E04
Beard / Hat ~ C00, C1, C3
Oven Mitt ~ N4, N6, R20, R17, R27
Spatula ~ C00, C1, N0, N2, N4, N6
Grill ~ N0, N2, N4, N6, E42, E44, E49
BBQ Sauce / Kebabs ~ E42, E44, E49
Grass ~ YG11, YG23
Sky ~ B0000, B00

I die cut the panel using the Wonky Stitched Mini Slimline Die from Gina Marie Designs. I cut a piece of plaid pattern paper from the Let Your Soul Wander {paper pack} to 5-3/4 x 3-3/8" and adhered it to a to the right side of a 6-1/2 x 3-1/2" black card front. Next, I adhered it to a white mini slimline card base measuring 7 x 6-1/2"; scored at 3-1/2".

A simple and pretty quick Father's Day card. Be sure to stop by Unity for their big birthday sale and new release!! Lots of wonderful new goodies!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.

Sweet Easter Gnome ~ March Sketch Challenge ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing my last bit of inspiration for the Unity March Sketch Challenge that I'm hosting in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group. I'm sharing a cute Easter card using the super adorable Sweet Easter Gnome stamps. And I'm sharing another bonus card so be sure to read through to the end!

Eeep!! Isn't this Easter card just the cutest?! It turned out better than I hoped. Paired up the adorable Sweet Easter Gnome with the Hippity Hoppity paper pad from Doodlebug Design. I did consider using the new Plaid Builder {layering stencils} to make my own plaid but I'm afraid that time was not on my side so I went with the pattern paper.

The cute little clouds in the background are from the March 2023 Kit of the Month called A Good Man & Some Butterflies. I just adore the detail in these cute clouds!!

The Easter gnome and clouds were stamped with Black Amalgam ink and then colored up with Copic markers. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the adorable gnome:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, E04
Beard ~ C00, C1, C3
Hat ~ RV10, RV13
Ears / Feet ~ R000, R00, R20, C00, C1, C3
Easter Egg ~ YG11, G14, BG10, BG23, YR21, YR15, RV10, RV13

This time I decided not to use a die for my focal image. Just went with straight edges but I used a corner rounder punch for both of my focal image layers. The ground for my gnome was created by die cutting the green grass papers with the Land Borders Die Set from Newton's Nook Designs.

You can check out my process video here... Sweet Easter Gnome | March Sketch Challenge | Unity Stamp Co.

Also sharing a BONUS card!! Our family has been considering get a kitty and I am smitten with the tortoiseshell cats. Love the pretty mix of colors in their fur.

I found a cute picture online and tried to replicate the coloring… it turned out okay. I do like how the eyes turned out though. Here’s a quick list of the Copic markers I used to color up the kitty:

Fur ~ YR21, YR15, YR16, N0, N2, N4, N6, C00, C1, C3
Nose ~ R00, R20, R14
Ears ~ R00, R20, N0, N2
Eyes ~ YG11, YR21, E00

I die cut the Copic colored kitty with the third largest die from the Big and Little Pierced Chain Rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs. Another paper pad of Spring papers made my background and my mat for the kitty layers. I used the Spring Market paper pad from Carta Bella. The sentiment was stamped, trimmed and then popped up on the card with thin foam tape. A few touches of white gel pen on the eyes, nose, and whiskers finish off my card.

Here's another look at the sketch! Today and tomorrow are the last days to play along with the sketch!! Please know that the sketch is meant to inspire and not require. Feel free to alter it to work for your creation just as I did for both of my cards! Most importantly have some inky fun! I can't wait to see what you create! Be sure to share your cards in the Unity Show & Tell group and also add them to the sketch challenge album in the group to be entered for a prize!! I have had so much fun hosting the challenges in the group for the last couple of months. Hope you all had fun too! Thank you all so much for playing along!

A quick blog post today to share a cute mini slimline card I made using the super cute Garden Gnomes from Unity! So excited to have new gnomes release! Love these cuties!

I love them so much I made this cute card for my husband for Valentine's Day. Not a traditional Valentine's Day card at all! But he recently started growing hydroponic plants. So I thought this card was perfect! And the sentiments seriously made the card work for Valentine's Day!

I've compiled a list of the Copic markers I used to color up this cute scene. I know it looks really long but keep in mind that I repeat a bunch of the markers and use them for multiple images.
Here's the list:

Life's a Party Gnome Card ~ October Sketch Challenge ~ Unity Stamp Co.

 Hello there crafty friend!
Today I'm sharing a bit more inspiration for the Unity October Sketch Challenge that I'm hosting in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group. Just one card for today but it's a super cute gnome birthday card and who doesn't love a gnome!?! The Life's a Party Gnome is just THE cutest gnome stamp for birthday cards! I just had to use him for my best friend's birthday. She loves gnomes and I know she'll get a kick out of this card!

I paired up the Life's a Party Gnome with the beautiful Birthday Party {paper pack} that's also available at Unity. Since the patterns in the papers are a little busy I decide to leave my bottom layer just plain white breaking up the patterns and I do love white space sometimes on my cards.

Don't be afraid to alter the sketch to work with your design! The gnome was a little big for the smaller rectangle piece that the sketch calls for so I opted for a circle. This also gave me more space to include my sentiment. Here's a quick list of the Copic markers I used for this adorable gnome:

Skin ~ E000, E00, E11, E04
Beard ~ C00, C2
Hat ~ B0000, B00, B02
Icing / Sprinkles ~ C00, C2, B0000, B02, RV21, RV14, Y06, Y15
Candle ~ Y06, Y15, RV10, RV21, RV14, B0000, B00, B02
Shoes ~ N1, N3, N6
Celebrate Sign ~ Y06, Y15

A few rhinestones finish off the card design nicely and compliment the sprinkles in the image.
You can check out my video for this card here... Life's a Party Gnome Card | October Sketch Challenge  | Unity Stamp Co.

Here's another look at the sketch! Please know that the sketch is meant to inspire and not require. Feel free to alter it to work for your creation and most importantly have some inky fun! I can't wait to see what you create! Be sure to share your cards in the Unity Show & Tell group and also add them to the sketch challenge album in the group to be entered for a prize!! I'll see you back here next Thursday with more inspiration for this month's sketch challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
See ya next time.
