DARKTHRONE - OLD STAR

Released in 2019, Old Star is the eighteenth album in the career of Darkthrone, a band of great importance in the world's metal scene as you well know. Well, Old Star is a good, solid, linear album with great influence from Celtic Frost (which is nothing new for anyone) and other metallic genres in the six tracks that make up this record, in which my favorite tracks are "I Muffle Your Inner Choir", "The Hardship of the Scots", "Duke of Gloat" (the fastest track) and "The Key is Inside the Wall". Those who helped in the process of finalizing Old Star were Sanford Parker (Buried At Sea, Corrections House and ex-Nachtmystium - mixing), Jack Control (Butcher, ex-World Burns to Death and ex-Severed Head of State - mastering), Chadwick St. John (cover) and Nocturno Culto (recording).

Lançado em 2019, Old Star é o décimo oitavo álbum na carreira da Darkthrone, uma banda de grande importância no cenário metal mundial como você bem sabe. Bem, Old Star é um álbum massa, sólido, linear e com grande influência de Celtic Frost (o que não é nenhuma novidade pra ninguém) e outros gêneros metálicos nas seis faixas que compõem este registro, na qual as minhas faixas favoritas são "I Muffle Your Inner Choir", "The Hardship of the Scots", "Duke of Gloat" (a mais acelerada) e "The Key is Inside the Wall". Aqueles que ajudaram no processo de finalização de Old Star foram Sanford Parker (Buried At Sea, Corrections House e ex-Nachtmystium - mixagem), Jack Control (Butcher, ex-World Burns to Death e ex-Severed Head of State - masterização), Chadwick St. John (capa) e Nocturno Culto (gravação).

Released in 1984, At War With Satan is Venom's third album. At War With Satan is a daring and conceptual album, as the theme presented in this work tells the story of an apocalyptic war between Heaven and Hell, in which Hell wins in the end (of course, this is Venom, damn it!). As for for the musical side that is heavy and evil, the title track with its twenty minutes stands out, because its duration time was the opposite presented by the bands of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM), besides the demonstration of technique and mastery of the instruments by band members. The other tracks also have their brilliance and fury like "Rip Ride", "Genocide" (listening to this track today shows that Venom is one of the sources and influences of bands like Whipstriker and Midnight, for example), "Stand Up (And Be Counted)": "Come on, raise your hands. We are the black metal gods. V.E.N.O. Fucking M." and "Women, Leather and Hell". Originally At War With Satan was released on LP with seven tracks in total and its CD reissue contains bonus tracks. The cover art resembles the cover of a book, or rather a black bible, which makes this album more offensive and Anti-Christian.  At War With Satan still shares the opinions of Venom fans, I like this album and listen with pleasure. Simply from hell!

Lançado em 1984, At War With Satan é o terceiro álbum da Venom. At War With Satan é um álbum ousado e conceitual, já que a temática apresentada neste trabalho fala a história sobre uma guerra apocalíptica entre o Céu e o Inferno, na qual o Inferno vence no final (claro, isso é Venom, porra!). Quanto ao lado musical que é pesado e maligno, a faixa-título com seus vinte minutos se destaca, pois o seu tempo de duração era o oposto apresentado pelas bandas da NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal), além da demonstração de técnica e domínio dos instrumentos pelos membros da banda. As outras faixas também tem o seu brilho e fúria como "Rip Ride", "Genocide" (ao escutar essa faixa hoje, percebe-se que a Venom é uma das fontes e influências de bandas como Whipstriker e Midnight, por exemplo), "Stand Up (And Be Counted)": "Come on, raise your hands. We are the black metal gods. V. E. N. O. Fucking M." e "Women, Leather and Hell". Originalmente, At War With Satan foi lançado em LP com sete faixas no total e o seu relançamento em CD contém faixas bônus. A arte de capa lembra a capa de um livro, ou melhor, uma bíblia negra, o que torna esse álbum mais ofensivo e anti-cristão. Apesar de At War With Satan ainda dividir as opiniões dos admiradores da Venom, eu acho esse álbum massa e escuto com muito gosto e prazer. Simplesmente from hell!

Hellripper's first album was marked by a strong influence from Kill 'Em All (Metallica's first album) and Venom. In Black Arts & Alchemy, the 2019 EP, Metallica's influence is not as evident compared to Coagulating Darkness, but still remains. This EP sounds more metal punk, something like a cross between Toxic Holocaust and Midnight. Cool!

O primeiro álbum da Hellripper ficou marcado por uma forte influência de Kill 'Em All (primeiro álbum da Metallica) e Venom. Já em Black Arts & Alchemy, o EP de 2019, a influência da Metallica não está tão evidente em comparação ao Coagulating Darkness, mas ainda permanece. Esse EP soa mais metal punk, algo como um cruzamento de Toxic Holocaust e Midnight. Da hora!
