Day Out with Thomas the Train
Hunter LOVES trains these days. Anything that has to do with trains - tv shows, train tracks at home, books about trains, spotting train tracks alongside the road...well, you get the picture. Of course, he loves Thomas the Train - and we were lucky enough to go visit the "real" Thomas in Chattanooga recently.

Avery's Slumber PARTY!
So- since Avery is 5 now, we decided to try something only "big girls" do - host a sleepover. Avery invited all of her closest girlfriends over for a Saturday night birthday party & sleepover. We asked that all the girls bring their sleeping bags and wear the pj's. This way, after the party they could all lay down and watch a princess movie together. Then most of the girls were going home...but a few brave ones decided to stay. I'm not going to lie- it was pretty crazy in this house! Avery and 6 friends decided to stay all night. Well, I lost 2 girls before midnight - and the remaining 4 stayed. I finally had them all asleep by midnight! They slept until 9:00 the next day. I was impressed with that. Avery asks me all the time now if she can have a slumber party every year???

Avery's 5 YEARS OLD!
My sweet baby girl just turned FIVE- words can not express how hard that is to say! These past 5 years have been filled with joy, love, laughing, and lots lots more. And, poor Avery had a rough start to her birthday this year with the stomach bug. (so sad!) However, we tried to celebrate a little with her, even though she wasn't feeling great- I could not allow her big day to pass without some celebrating. We invited the family over for cake, and presents - although Avery didn't even eat a bite if cake. I do think that the gifts helped to cheer her up a little. Here are some pic's from her family birthday party:

Spring Soccer Begins!
Saturday was opening day for spring soccer, and Avery had a lot of fun with her friends. The team is made up of almost all people she knows- her aunt is a coach, and her dad is the other coach - and to top that off most of the girls on the team are her friends too! How much fun is this going to be. For Avery, I think soccer is more about getting some exercise outside with friends, than it is about her soccer skills. Haha. This is fine with me, because at this age, I am proud of her for playing on a team, making friends & having fun. (that's what it IS about anyways)

Avery goes to Six Flags!!
Uncle Brian and his sweet girlfriend took Avery to Six Flags today for her birthday. She had a great time! I received cute text messages and pictures throughout the day - and here are some of the pictures:

Uncle Brian and Melissa were more tired than Avery I think!! I guess walking around all day with a 5 year old wears anyone out, haha! They rode Avery's first "real" roller coaster today (the Mine Train) and I am excited to hopefully have someone to ride roller coasters with in the future. =)

Avery Starts Soccer!
This past weekend was Avery's 1st soccer game! She turned 4 the day before the cutoff to make the pre-Kindergarten team at our church...so of course I had to sign her up! She has been watching her older cousin (Maggie) play for the last few seasons & I knew that she had been wanting to be a part of the team as soon as she could. Her wonderful father offered to coach her team too! So, I am very excited that Avery & Clint will have this bonding time with sports. (and, it helps that her other coach is her Aunt Ragan!!) In her first game, I was VERY impressed with her for running all over the field and keeping up with the older girls. She really enjoyed herself out there. I plan to be at every game this season with my camera on - so get ready for lots of pictures.
