Stampotique Challenge 235 - Flowers

Hello and welcome to the blog. This week at Stampotique Designer's Challenge our hostess is Carol Fox and she is asking us to include some flowers in our projects. Here is what Carol says about this fun challenge:
"Spring is just around the corner in the UK. So share with me a project with flowers in it"

So let's see your flowers this week!!!

Also, if you haven't done the new release Leap Day Blog Hop head on over HERE and take a look, there are some wonderful new stamps and some wonderful prizes!

My project this week is a bookmark for my planner, I wanted a bookmark for my "today" page because everytime I open my planner I can't find the page for today haha!!!

I used Stampotique stamps:
3 Daisies by Terri Richardson (our new designer)
Carrot - By Jill Penney
Upholstered - By France Papillon (in my background)

This bookmark also features the words "Just Breathe" a Memory Box exclusive die from Simple Pleasures Rubber Stamp Store, you can find them
I love the "Just Breathe" sentiment for my bookmark, it was perfect for me because sometimes I forget to just take a minute and breathe.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, come on over to Stampotique Designer's Challenge and join us this week. You could always win a 30.00 gift certificate to the online store.

Hello and welcome back to the blog today. Wednesday means another challenge over at Stampotique's Designer Challenge Blog YAY!!

Here is what Janet has to say about this challenge:
"Twinchies are small works of art that measure 2 x 2". Create a set of twinchies using your favorite stampotique stamps"

For this particular challenge I decided to do a journal page with quite a few twinchies.
This page reminds me of the Brady Bunch but I called them "The Crazy Bunch" haha!

I used Stampotique Stamps:
4 Dwarfy Gnomes and Goat Monster - By Kira Nichols
Blessed Skellie - By Roc Nicholas
Young Ignis - By Magda Polokow
Moth Fab - By Jill Penney and Daniel Torrente
Waltzing Fleur - By Janet Klein

Altered Playing Card Challenge Week 26

Oh my gosh, only one more week to go for The Altered Playing Card Challenge, Wow. How fun has this been? I've had a great time and I can't believe it's almost over

We are now onto week 26 of this challenge

If you have missed any of the previous week's here are the links

and our Facebook group

and the Pinterest Board link
Pinterest Board

This week I wanted to focus on something called Monochromatic which basically means creating something with one color in many different shades. You can also use white or black in a monochrome project.

I am no good with monochrome and it's a tough concept for me so this week will be a sort of challenge for me as well.

I started out with two different printed papers, one was a light teal color and the other was purple

I then grabbed some stencils, both of these are by Dylusions

For the next step I used acrylic paint but feel free to use inks if you choose
I did the purple card first and used a slightly darker shade of paint along with the stencil
( I like to use sponge dabbers with paint and stencils, you don't want too much paint on your dabber, I usually dab in the paint and then dab onto the craft sheet a few times and then begin to work)

For the second teal card, I did the same

Working with the teal card first, I first added a bit of ink around the edges

I then used my fine tip Bic marker and doodled a bit

I then stamped Roc Nicholas's stamp called Screaming Bunny onto white card stock and colored him with copics
I used several different shades of teal for this

I then cut my bunny out

I used a different color ink to stamp Bla Bla Bla by Jill Penney and Daniel Torrente onto my background, then adhered my bunny and my words Even Silence Speaks By Jo Capper-Sandon
Here is my finished card

For the purple card I first used ink to edge my card

I then used my white gel pen to created some doodles here and there

I added some wash tape, I like to tear my washi tape and then add it to my backgrounds

I stamped  Mervynboy and Hat onto white card stock and colored them with several different shades of purple

I added the Goody, goody gumdrops sentiment last
Here is my finished card

and here are my two cards together

I hope that you will try this monochromatic theme this week. You don't even have to do yours like I did mine, as long as the concept is the same. The same colors in different shades.
Have fun this week, next week is out last and we will have a huge giveaway!! So come back!
Cheers!

Stampotique ATC Facebook Swap

Hello and welcome back to my blog... today I would like to show you some ATCs that I made for the Stampotique Facebook page ATC swap. The Facebook group does a swap about once a month with people from all over the world and it's been so fun.
This months theme for the swap was all about "Swaperoo"
The idea is to create an ATC for your partner with Stampotique Stamps and swap out the body parts and mix and match them.

Here are the two ATCs I made for my two partners.

I used the following Stampotique Stamps:
Carrot - By Artist Jill Penney
Halloween CubeRogerPenelope all by artist Daniel Torrente
When I grow Up - Carol's Collection
Barcode Text 2Design Cube 2 - By Artist France Papillon

This was such a fun swap and I love how these came out. I just had to show you!!
Have a great day!!

Two Normals - Journal Page

Hello all and TGIF!! It's Friday and it's not snowing yet, it's a good day!
At any rate, I wanted to show you a journal page that I recently created. Some of you may know that my New Years Resolution was to Journal more often and actually complete a journal (maybe) lol
So I decided to work in my journal the other day
Of course I had to use my favorite Stampotique Stamps too. haha!

I have this wonderful artsy friend named Terri Richardson and her and I text each other quite a bit. Not only is she a great artist she is so funny too. For this journal page I used a quote directly from her.. she said this to me during a text one night
"Just a couple of "Normals", In a World Full of Weird"

When I heard her say that I thought it was a perfect sentiment for a journal page with some Stampotique Stamps by Daniel Torrente
Here is the journal page I created.....

The page kind of just came together naturally and it was so much fun to create for no particular reason. Sometimes you just gotta "do"

Obviously I felt this page needed to have some bright bold colors, I used Dina Wakley paints for that background.

I used Stampotique Stamps:

All By Daniel Torrente and some by Daniel and Jill Penney
Thanks for coming by the blog, I hope you have gotten a nice giggle. Have a Cheery day!!

Stampotique Challenge 178 - Color Splash

Hello all and welcome back to the blog. This week over at the Stampotique Designer's Challenge Blog our wonderful Kaz is our hostess and she has chosen the theme "Color Splash".  She would like to see some bright colors to cheer us up in the dim days of January!

This is a fun and perfect challenge for these cold winter months and you all know that I love bright colors!

I decided to do a set of coasters this year for my family to use. It lets me display my creations around the house in a utilitarian kind of way. haha!
I decided to use this challenge to make my first one.

I bought this set of cardboard coasters at Michael's  and added gesso to the one side. This preps them to take the paint that I'm going to apply

I didn't do a full tutorial, I got a little carried away and forgot to take photos
I used Dina Wakley's paints to paint my background and added a bit of wash tape, used some stencils and added my stamped images, which were colored with copic markers
I sealed this coaster with Duncan's Collage Pauge

For this coaster I used Stampotique Stamps

I Am My Art - In Carol's Collection
Peggy - By Artists Jill Penney and Daniel Torrente

Thanks for coming by and make sure to join in the challenge over at The Challenge Blog youc ould win a 30.00 gift certificate to the online store.

Stampotique Designer's Challenge

Merry Christmas Eve! and welcome back to another Wednesday with me and the Stampotique Designer's Challenge. This is the 4th week with the "Anything Goes" Challenge. This one ran through the entire month of December.

The passed two week's I have given you a bit of a recap on my year with Stampotique, it has been a lot of fun going through some of my projects over this year.

This week I wanted to make something new so i decided to make a cell phone case. I just got the new iPhone 6 and I needed to make me a shiny new case with my Stampotique characters.

I always buy a clear case and just make my own background.

So without further delay, here is my new case:

I used the Stampotique stamp - Moth Fab by artists Daniel Torrente and Jill Penney
and also Whatever... - Carol's Collection
I just love how my case turned out, nice and bright just like I like it. The great thing about it is, I can change it whenever I want and it's always original.

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Next up is a journal spread I did for the purple, black and pink challenge a few months ago

Here is my project for this week's challenge

For this project I used Stampotique Stamp
Moth Fab - By Artists Jill Penney and Daniel Torrente

I used a stencil in the background and Dyan Reaveley sprays to make that spider web. I also used the sprays to color the ribbon for the bow the same color.

Crazy Birthday Card

I am guest posting today over at Stampotique Designer's Blog for one of our design team members Coby. Her grandson is sick so please say a prayer for him.

I have a close friend that has a birthday coming up (pretty soon, need to get this in the mail LOL) and I wanted to make her a card using my wonderful Stampotique stamps. She loves the weird characters of Daniel Torrente and Jill Penney so of course I had to use my fun stamps

For this card I used Stampotique Stamps

Prom Queen and Froggie by Daniel Torrente and Jill Penney

I created my background with Tim Holtz distress paints and then added a few stencils

Both girls were colored with copic markers and then adhered to the front of the card.

This was a fun card to make because my friend and I are always kidding each other about how much we are alike and how crazy and weird we both are, haha! These Stampotique character stamps were so perfect for this.
Thanks for coming by once again and have a wonderful day.

Steampunk and Stampotique

Hello all and thanks again for coming by the blog, I'm blessed to have so many wonderful followers and I'm so happy you stopped by
This week over at Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog the wonderful Kathi has chosen our theme and she picked
Steampunk!! I love steampunk so hooray, Love this challenge.
I hope you will join in with us and try your hand at the new challenge.

For this challenge I chose to use Stampotique stamp

Moth Fab - By Artists Jill Penney and Daniel Torrente

This is one of those "oldie but goodie" stamps, I love this stamp and she is one of my "go to" Stampotique stamps

For my background I used an oval template (just a piece of paper that I cut into an oval) I knew I wanted the card to be at least as big, if not bigger than my stamp and then I went to work
I used distress ink/tool to color the outside of my card

Then I used a stencil and black distress ink to create my gears
Meanwhile the whole time leaving the center of my card white

I stamped my stamp onto another sheet of paper and colored her and cut her out.

For the numbers I used one of Tim Holtz dies and black cardstock

This was a fun challenge and I just love using two of my favorite things together, steampunk and Stampotique
Cheers!!
