Challenge 14 at Christmas Challenges {with sketches}

Hi there, its time for a new challenge at Christmas Challenges {with sketches} already and our sketch this time around if from my lovely teamie Wilma. I've rotated the sketch as I wanted to use the text border that matched the dps I've used. Sorry about the awful pic, the dark foggy days combined with my dreadful photography skills are to blame lol.

Our sponsor this time around is Michelle Perkett, Michelle is such a talented artist and her digi stamps are just gorgeous so I'm sure you won't want to miss out on the chance to win. I've used one of Michelle's Christmas images, isn't she adorable? She is called Tia and you can find her in Michelle's Etsy Store

I've coloured Tia with promarkers and added ivory flowersoft and glamour dust  for the trim on her dress, hat and muff. The papers are all from GCD Joyful Peace paper pad, distressed with a kraft knife. The flowers are ivory paper flowers from my stash, coloured with Jolly Roger Red moonglow ink spray. I've used Marianne die to cut the leaves and swirls. To finish off I've added a faux gems and a  fab postage stamp sentiment from Whimsy Stamps, I love these stamps and they have a matching die too.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Daisy Doodles: Christmas plus use a digi
Digital Tuesday: sparkle and shine
Everybody Art Challenge:Christmas cards
Papertake Weekly: Christmas crackers
Pollycraft: Christmas fun
Shopping our Stash: christmas or winter
Whoopsi Daisy: anything goes at Christmas

Thanks for popping by today.

Make your own DP at Michelle Perkett Studio

Hi there, how are you doing? I seem to have gremlins again with a leaky radiator, a poorly pc and I also think I've heard the patter of little paws in the house... I think I may have a little mousy visitor! I do hope not as I love mice and hate to think of having to evict them. I didn't have chance to investigate thoroughly with all the chaos of the leak so I'll have to look for evidence when I get home from work. If its not one thing its another but at least I'm not bored lol.
Anyway on to today's card which features the stunning Princess Oceana from Michelle Perkett Studio, I adore this image and I've coloured her loads of times but I thought I'd give her black hair this time for a change.  You can find Princess Oceana in Michelle's Etsy Store here.

I've coloured her with my promarkers and added some dimension with viva pearl and gloss pens and some tiny sea shells from my stash. She's matted on some blue mirri card. I've created the background using Cosmic Shimmer spray in Midnight Blue and some silver firework ink, sprayed on white card and then clingfilmed and left to dry. I love this technique, its perfect for watery or icy backgrounds and looks sooooo sparkly and shimmery in real life. Once the background was dry I stamped border and and corner stamps from Chocolate Baroque and embossed with seafoam white EP. The flowers and gems are from my stash.

I'm entering Princess Oceana in the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments: No sentiment
2 Sisters:  Use a digi
Crafty Purple Frog: Monochromatic
Paperplay: Sparkle Galore
Simon Says Stamp: Sparkle and shine
Totally Gorjuss: Water or anything wet

Don't forget to check out the new challenge over at Michelle Perkett Studio, Shelley and her lovely team of mermaids have a fab challenge starting today ... they want to see you make your own backing papers.

Michelle Perkett's Earth

Hi there, how is your weekend going? I'm home alone (well apart from the dogs and parrot lol) as hubby and son have gone away for the weekend so although the house is sooooooo quiet I've had a lovely day gardening and crafting :-). This card features Michelle Perkett's beautiful image 'Earth' (you can find her in Michelle's Etsy Store)

The image is coloured with promarkers and distressed with Vintage photo distress ink before being matted on some shimmery brown card. The bp is from the Prima Madeline range and was too pretty to cover up with loads of embellies so I've just added some brown organza ribbon to finish the card off.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments: No sentiment
Crafty Catz: anything goes
Shelley's Images: Show us what you've got
Truly Scrumptious: Anything goes

Say it with die cuts at Michelle Perkett Studio

Hello there, Tuesday again so its time for a new challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio and this week we want to see your die cuts and of course one of Michelle's gorgeous images too. If you don't have any of Michelle's digi stamps you can pop over to her group on Papercraft Planet and pick up a freebie or two (there are loads of lovely free images on the Discussion boards). I've used 'Lily, The Fairy of Enchantment' for my card. I love to colour Lily with those lovely wings and that beautiful dress. You can find her here in Michelle's Etsy Store

Lily is coloured with promarkers and has a little glamour dust for some added bling but it doesn't show up at all in the pic. I've kept the card layout fairly plain and framed Lily with die cuts from a cuttlebug die. The bp is from K&Co I was using up scraps hence the vertical and horizontal stripes LOL. I've added some pale peachy pink roses, salmon pink lace and aqua velvet ribbon from my stash to finish off.

I'm entering Lily in the following challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge: aqua lemon and pink

Hippity hoppity ....Happy Easter

Hi there and Happy Easter to you, I hope wherever you are the sun is shining and you're enjoying the Easter break. We're certainly having some gorgeous Spring weather here in the UK, perfect weather for sitting out in the garden with my promarkers :-)
I don't usually make Easter cards but this year i seem to have made a few, I couldn't let Easter pass without using Harvey, the Easter Bunny from Michelle Perkett though (he's available in Michelle's Etsy Store)

Harvey is coloured with promarkers and cut out with a nestie labels 4, I think he is the cutest little bunny!! I had a lot of inky fun making the tag for Harvey. I used yellow card and stamped with some egg stamps from Chocolate Baroque, I love these stamps as they come in 3 layers, a solid egg stamp, a layer of tiny dots and a layer of larger speckles - I used various inks to stamp them (Anna Griffin cream and duck egg pigment ink, and brown versafine). I added some little brown paw prints (Ok they are dog paws from Paper Pretties but i didn't have any rabbit paw stamps lol). I distressed the edges with brown ink added a yellow eyelet and some yellow gingham ribbon at the top of the tag. To finish off I added a yellow square 'Happy' eyelet that i've had for ages, i think it came with my cropodile.

I'm entering Harvey in the following challenges:

Guinevere

Hi there, its my favourite day of the week and after a dull start the sun has come out too :-)
Today's card features the lovely Guinevere from Michelle Perkett Studio. I coloured her and then couldn't find any papers that looked right  (how annoying is that??) so I decided to get out my starburst stains and make my own.

I made two sheets of backing paper using pale pink and green shades of starburst stains on copier paper (I used alpine ice rose, ramblin rose pink, eidelweiss moss greeen and a little gator gumbo olive - you've got to love the names they give these colours lol). I covered one sheet with cling film and scrunched the other up and left them to dry.

Guinevere is coloured with promarkers and has green glitter for a bit of extra bling in her hair and on her headband. I cut her out with a nestie and a gold mat too. I used the scrunched paper for the main background and punched a border from the cling film bp. The lace is from WOC and the ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. I used the leftover scrunched background to make the flower - punched 3 flowers with a woodware punch, layered themup and added a gold centre and a rose from WOC. The flourishes are made from gold mirri card cut with a marianne creatable die. To finish off I added some faux pearls and dew drops from Crafty Emma's Store. I'm really pleased with the flower, especially as its just made from copier paper lol, you can see it better in this pic.

Today our spotlight Saturday post at MPS is giving all the DT members chance to talk about their favourite charities. Its hard to choose a favourite charity but Rethink and Mind the two big mental health charities are very close to my heart (in fact I work for a small branch of Mind). I'm going to be doing a local craft fair later in the year ( a scary thought) and hopefully my cards will make a little money for our charity. Things are very difficult for small charities at the minute so every penny counts.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Cardmaking Mama's: embellish it
Crafts and Me: glitter
Going grey with scrap creations: recipe challenge, my ingredients are ribbon, glitter and pearls
Mami Doodles: Use a punch or die cut
Pixie Dust: Lace it up

The Stamping Boutique: handmade flowers

Thanks for visiting today, I hope you are having a good weekend. After a nightmare of a week at work I've been out weeding and taken all my frustration out on all the poor dandelions lol, now I've had chance to chill out I'm going to have a couple of hours in my craftroom :-)

Night at the Movies with the Rainbow Lady

Hi there, when I saw the new challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog, 'A Night at the Movies' my first though was Harry Potter as I just LOVE Harry Potter films although to be honest I much prefer the books (you don't what to know how many times i've read them .... I'm such a geek lol). Anyway I had to have a go at a 'Harry Potter' ish scene  although I didn't have a Harry Potter stamp so you'll have to use your imagination a little lol.
As well as a new challenge topic this week we have a fab new sponsor 'Time to Sow' so make sure you pop over the challenge blog to get your entry in to be in with a chance of a fab prize!

The background is masked and brayered using Mountain Meadow big&juicy ink pad with black brayered over the sky. The tree stamps are all from Elusive Images and I'm not sure where the castle is from, its been uninked in my stash for ages so it was  a good time to give it an airing!
I painted the dragon and unicorn with twinkling H2os and decoupaged them up a layer with foam pads. I was really stuck for a wizardy character until i remembered the fab 'Magical Alchemey' digistamp from Michelle Perkett, I love this stamp, he makes a perfect  Dumbledore but i've also used him in the past for Father Christmas coloured in red and white. This time I coloured him with promarkers and added a little bit of yellow feather to his hat.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Creative Card Crew: For a child
Daring Cardmakers: The Book Club
Digital Tuesday: for the kids
The Sisterhood of Crafters: Let's hear it for the boys

I've really enjoyed making this card. its been a while since I played with my trusty brayer :-)

Thanks for visiting today, I hope you're going to join our challenge this week.
