Who's Counting? It's Just A Number--cQc #304

August 19, 2015

Today, I was at my exercise class and found out that it is our instructor's birthday tomorrow.  I wanted to do something nice for her.  She just moved here from New Jersey and we all love her and want her to stay.  I knew just what I wanted to do.  When I saw the colors at the Colour Q challenge, I got busy on my card and wine tag.

I absolutely love the stamp set by Simon Says Stamp-Work Out.  I have used it on several occasions and it was perfect for my project.

My base card is Coastal Cabana.  (5 1/2 X 4 1/4).  The next layer is watercolor paper.  I used the Tim Holtz "Measured" stencil and four colors of distress inks to create the background.  I wasn't thinking about the number of years in a birthday when I made this background.  I was really thinking about weight and exercise.  LOL!  I trimmed the finished panel with my stitched rectangle die.

I stamped the girl on Neenah White card stock and colored her with Copic Markers.  The funny part is, I had the die and forgot about it and fussy cut her!  Wow!  I could have saved myself that step if I was more organized.

I cut a Neenah white circle with my stitched circle dies and stamped the sentiment from the Penny Black, Sprinkles and Smiles stamp set with Versa Fine black ink.  I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Glossy Accents and white gel pen were added to her eyes for shine.  I also added a little Wink of Stella to add some sparkle.

I also made a wine tag for her little treat.  I used the new SugarPea Designs-Take Note set for the sentiment.  I received it as a Sweet Incentive from SugarPea Designs.  Check out their site for more information.  I stamped the same girl and colored her with Copics.  I added the sentiment with black Versa Fine Ink and heat embossed it with clear powder.  A few enamel dots were added for fun!

I hope you enjoyed my projects today.  Please leave a message and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Wishing you a wonderful evening!

HUGS!
