Fabulous YOU!--cQc #326

January 30, 2016

Today I am sharing a card that I made for a very dear friend's birthday.  She is very special to me!  The colors at Colour Q were just perfect for her card.

My base card is white.  The next layer is Old Olive card stock.  I created the background paper using the Brushstrokes stamp from Stampin' Up! using Chocolate Chip ink.  The flowers are from Altenew, "Peony Scrolls" set.  I heat embossed them in white embossing powder and colored them using Zig watercolor markers.  A rectangle was cut in the background panel and stamped with Wisteria Wonder using  the Gorgeous Grunge stamp from Stampin' Up!

I cut five "Fabulous" sentiments from the die from The Ton.  The "You" is stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.  It is from a retired SU set, Painted Petals.  A few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for fun.  Wink of Stella on the peonies adds extra shine.  I also added Wink of Stella on the sentiment!  I love the way this card turned out!  Don't you love when that happens!

THANK You for stopping by my blog today!  I love to hear from you, so please leave a comment.

Have a great weekend!

Nature--cQc #314 and Friday Mashup # 232

November 1, 2015

I loved the colors at The ColourQ  this week and The Friday Mashup is featuring leaves. Since Halloween is over, I decided to make a card I could send for Thanksgiving.  I love leaves, so I had fun creating this card.

I used the Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Tangerine Tango ink pads and added the color directly on watercolor paper.  I just turned them over and rubbed the ink on the paper.  I had never done that before, but it worked perfectly.  I cut the leaves out of these colors using the matching dies from Vintage Leaves (Stampin' Up!)  I then stamped the leaves on top of them using Vintage Versa Fine Ink.  I applied clear embossing powder and heated them to get the shiny look.  I love the way they turned out.

The base card is white.  I added a black layer for accent.  The top layer is white.  I stamped the Nature sentiment from Verve Stamps with black Versa Fine and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I used dimensionals to attach the leaves.  I made a burlap bow and added a button threaded with Linen thread.  These were both attached with glue dots.  I added a few drops of Glossy Accents to look like dew on the leaves.

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!
