Hello Spring--Mix It Up Challenge 40

February 25, 2018

I am playing along with the SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge.

I decided to play with the sketch part of the challenge this time.  I already mailed out all my Valentine cards for this year.  I am now busy working on Easter cards.

My card is created on a white card base.  I used purple card stock and a scalloped die to created the first layers.  The second layer was cut using a rectangle stitched die and a piece of Lawn Fawn plaid paper.  A coordinating plaid was cut using the SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stiched circle dies.  I also used the same dies for the white circle.  This sweet image is from SugarPea Designs.  Easter Blessings was stamped and colored with Copic Markers.  Wink of Stella was added for shine.  Three pearls were added to complete the sketch.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  I hope your day is extra special!

Baby It's Cold Outside--SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge 39

January 19, 2018

I love SugarPea Designs and I finally found time to play along with their monthly Mix It Up Challenge!

I played along with the sketch and the inspiration photo.  I used one of my favorite SugarPea Designs stamp sets for the main image.  My card features the Frosty Friends stamp set.  I just love this precious little girl catching snowflakes.  It reminds me of my childhood.  I grew up in Indiana and I have played in a lot of snow!

I also used the Build A Background Basics stamp set by SugarPea Designs to make the polka dot strip behind the snow man.  I used Copic Markers and paper pieced the coat and scarf.  A few snowflakes and rhinestones were added for fun!  Lots of Wink of Stella adds shine to my images.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.  Have a great weekend!

Congrats On Your New Home FUSION

November 10, 2017

I finally had a few minutes to myself and wanted to play along with the Fusion Card Challenge.

The sketch was just perfect for a card that I wanted to create for my SIL and BIL's new home.

I took the liberty of turning the sketch on the side.

My card is created on a white card base.  I used distress inks to create the background.  The new home sign is from Neat and Tangled stamps--Welcome Home.  I stamped and colored it with Copic Markers and used the matching dies to cut it out.  The leaves were stamped using the SugarPea Designs Lovely Leaves and the matching dies.  The pumpkins are from a retired Stampin' Up! set Fall Fest and the dies.  Wink of Stella was added for shine on the leaves and leaves.

I hope this will make them smile as they are getting settled in their new home.  Just in time for Thanksgiving!

Have a fantastic weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Witch Way Is The Candy? FMS309

October 19, 2017

It is a beautiful day in Atlanta, GA!  I didn't have winning results on the tennis court today, so I thought I would play in my tepee to drown my sorrows.  LOL!

I love the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and my friend Linda is the lovely hostess this week!  I have not had time to play along with many challenges lately, so I hope with colder weather coming and shorter days, I will find more time to play with some of the awesome challenges out there.

Any one that knows me, knows that I love to make Halloween cards.  I think it is a carry over from all those years in First Grade.  I thought I had my pile  completed, but when I saw this sketch  I thought, "What's one more"?  I can always find someone to send it to.

My card is created on a black card base.  The next two layers are cut using the MFT Mod Rectangle dies with Smokey Slate card stock and a piece of striped DSP in my stash.  The circle was created using alcohol inks.  This technique is new to me and the inks are so much fun to play with.  I love how it looks.  I used Amethyst alcohol ink.  I cut the circle using SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Circle dies.  A strip of Lemon Lime Twist card stock from Stampin' Up! was used for my rectangle shape.  The sentiment is stamped in black Memento ink using the MFT Witch Way Is the Candy? stamp set.  The little ghost is from Waltzing Mouse stamps.  The company is no longer in business, but I love this set and will not get rid of it.  I colored the image with Copic Markers.  Wink of Stella and white gel pen was used and  I added Glossy Accents to the star and buckle for shine.  A few black enamel dots were added for fun.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!
I hope you have a great weekend!

What's Canoe With You? SSC163

October 8, 2017

It's time for a new challenge at Sunday Stamps!

Please use a minimum of 3 colors and a neutral of your choice.

We have an amazing color challenge for all of you!  I must admit, this one speaks to me.  I love these colors and I am a huge fan of turquoise and Native American art.  I had so much fun creating this card!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used the SugarPea Designs Arrow Cover Plate to create my background.  I used Real Red for the main panel.   Then I cut a Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise panel and used the arrows to fill in the negative spaces.  I love the way this turned out.  I added a Tangerine Tango rectangle strip and stamped the sentiment using SugarPea Designs Indian Summer stamps set.  The little Indian in her canoe is from Your Next Stamp Little Darling Indians.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and added lots of Wink of Stella.  I used the matching dies to cut it out. A few Tempting Turquoise waves were added using a die.  Red enamel dots were added to complete my card.

Please use a minimum of 3 colors and a neutral of your choice.
