Thank you!

I needed some thank you cards in my card box so I decided to use a background that I had already made using my del plate and a stencil from Simon Says. I used Distress Oxide on my gel before pressing the stencil in.

Next I added this die cut also from Simon Says, some sequins and a computer generated sentiment. Love these bright spring like colours just wishing for brighter warmer weather!

I am adding this card to the Love Handmade Cards flickr group challenge "Anything Goes"

Have a great weekend

Thanks Card.

I needed a quick Thank You card and as I already had the "Arched Leaf and Flower "  Simon Says die on my desk ready , I cut some more flowers, this time with spring time colours and some gorgeous gingham card from Papermill Direct.

Such an easy card to put together, just added the die cut sentiment and some sequins for added sparkle.

I am adding this card to the challenge at the Simon Says Flickr group "Favourite Technique" as die cutting is definitely one of my favs although I have many favourites!!

I will also add it to the SSS Wednesday challenge "Add a Die Cut"

I have just had a lovely week up in Surrey visiting my new Granddaughter Eva, giving her mum a little break while I took her for long walks in her pram.  I was so lovely spending time with them.

Shimmer and Shine!

The theme for this months "Lets Squash it" challenge is "Shimmer and Shine". I found this challenge quite hard as I only really have embossing powders that shimmer and I couldn't find a way of those looking good on my dry embossed card.  Then sorting through my crafty drawers I found a really old tub of gold Perfect Pearls and decided to give this a go.

First I distressed a pice of card with Spiced Marmalade and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks, I then ran this through in an old Embossing folder from "Design Objectives", not sure of the name of the folder.  I mixed my Perfect Pearls in a spray bottle with water and spritzed the card with lots of spray and then dried with my heat gun.

Its quite hard to photograph but is really shimmery in real life. Next I added a couple of die cut circles and the layered up die cut Thanks sentiment from Simon Says which I also added the perfect Pearls to.

Now I have rediscovered the Perfect Pearls I shall be using them again, such a lovely effect and would look fabulous on my Christmas cards.

It looks like we are in for some good weather at last so I shall be out in the garden ,Woo Hoo!!

Summer Flowers!

The weather in the UK at the moment is wet, windy and dull,  not like summer and really quite depressing.  I needed something to cheer me up so made this mini Slimline card with dies and the So Beautiful stamp set  from Simon Says, lots of summery flowers to colour.  All my flowers are getting spoilt by the rain at the moment!

The background is salty ocean distress Oxide ink and I have coloured the flowers with Zig marker and gouache paint.  I then added a few gems for sparkle and the Thanks sentiment, also Simon Says.

I am adding this card to the current SSS Flickr challenge "Celebrate Summer " and the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes".

Hope the weather is better where you are, have a great week.

Thanks!!

The current challenge at the SSS Flickr group is "Use a Stencil" , I only have a couple of stencils but this one called "Tap Dance" from Simon Says is a great one for all types of cards.

I used an old  spellbinders die to cut the shaped card out of some Antique linen cardstock and then stencilled in various Oxide colours.  The flowers are from Altenew and Simon Says and I have embossed in gold and coloured with Zig markers before fussy cutting and arranging on the card.  The thanks sentiment is also Simon Says and the pearls are from Lucy's "Little Things"

I shall also add this card to the SSS Wednesday challenge "Anything Goes"

We are having a really quiet Easter weekend as the family are still not allowed to visit, that's the second Easter we have missed out on , fingers crossed that we will be able to see them soon.

Hope you are enjoying your Easter break.

Thank you !

My stash off cards was running short of  Thank You cards so I got to work and made these two.

For this first one i used the Kaleidoscope Background stamp from Simon Says and stamped and embossed in silver.  I then coloured in parts of the image with some pink Zig markers. Also adding some pearls and Silver Nuvo drops some areas.

Lastly I added the SSS die cut " Thanks " sentiment in silver and mounted it to a pink card base.

For the second card I stamped and clear embossed a panel with the Simon Says Cosmos Background and coloured with a mixture of Zigs and Distress Oxide inks.  I then cut the three squares with the SSS Stitched Square background die and added to a card base with foam tape.

I then added the die cut Thanks sentiment, also from Simon Says.  I shall add both these cards  to the current Flickr Challenge "Spring Fling"

We have been out in the garden all day today and it was glorious, so pleased to be out in the fresh air!  Looking forward to some more good weather at the weekend!

Pastel Shaker Card.

The current Simon Says Stamp Flickr group challenge is "Do it with Dies" one of my favourite themes.  I have lots of dies and love using them in my cards.

I used the Flower Cluster die to create this fun shaker card, sticking to the pastel lilac colour theme.

After cutting the die from the corner of a card blank I stuck some acetate to the back and then added back the flower die cut, I used some gorgeous lilac card for the background and the sentiment adding some sparkly sequins to the shaker element.

I shall also add this to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Beautiful Blossoms"

Looking forward to the weekend, we are still in Lockdown so have booked a treat of a takeaway from a fabulous restaurant in our town called Brassica.  There food is always delicious,  I miss not going out for a meal so this is the next best thing.

Have a great weekend

Autumnal Wreath Card.

I wanted to make another card for the Simon Says Flickr Group challenge "Autumn Wonder"  I love all the earthy autumnal colours and always need thank you cards in my stash.  My daughter is a teacher and constantly raids my cards box for thank you cards !

I decided to try and make a wreath card with stamps and dies coloured in the gorgeous warm colours.  I have used the "Leaf Border " and "Leafy Branch " die plus the leaves from one of the Spring Flowers stamp set.

I have also added lots of sparkly metallic splashes with my Nuvo  Sunlit Sienna pen.  Lastly the sentiment is cut in a rose gold mirror card.

We had probably the last of the hot summer days yesterday and the Autumn mists arrived this morning, time to get out those woolly jumpers i think!

Have a great week

Autumnal Leaves

I have a new die from Simon Says , the Leafy Branch so decided to use it to make a card for the SSS Flickr Group Challenge "Autumn Wonder"

First I created the background by smooshing some Autumnal distress inks onto my die cut base, when dry I added some white gouache and some splashes of  Sunlit Sienna Nuvo marker to give a shimmery effect.  Next I die cut the branch twice, colouring the leaves of the second set and layering up. Layered onto a red card base and added the red die cut sentiment.

The leaves are beginning to turn here although we are having a bit of and Indian summer after the wet cold August. Went to the beach yesterday and swam in the sea, which was cold and exhilarating. Must make the most of these days before winter sets in.

Have a great week

Thanks!

I have been practicing my water colouring with Zig markers and made this card for a couple of current challenges.  The first is the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Fall/Autumn"  and the second is the SSS Flickr Challenge which is "Grateful/Thankful" for this fortnight.

I used the centre flowers from the SSS "Centre Cut Flowers" set and stamped in Scattered Straw Distress ink, then I carefully water coloured with my Zigs.  I then layered the panel up on some mustard card and added the die cut sentiment.

Thanks!

We are off on holiday next week but before we go I wanted to make another card using the Autumnal colours and theme as I love oranges and yellows, so bright and pretty!!

For this card I use the Simon Says "Centre Cut Flower" stamp again and just embossed in gold ,coloured and cut out the leaves, I also used the leaves from the "Even more Spring Flowers "set.

The frames was made from a scrap from my basket, its just the edge of a panel I made for another card.

As you can see I also added some splatters and the die cut sentiment, also from Simon Says.

I am adding this to the SSS Wednesday Challenge "Stamp It" and the SSS Flickr challenge "Falling for Fall", I will also add it to the SSS Instagram challenge.

Looking forward to my holiday hope you all have a great week too.

I was lucky enough to win the Simon Says Flickr group challenge a couple of weeks ago and received my new stamps this week.  I couldn't  wait to ink them up.  This is the "Centre Cut Flowers" cling stamp.

I have embossed in white then coloured with Zig Markers.  Used the SSS Square cut dies to form the layers and the Thanks die is also Simon Says.  Had fun colouring this , I am sure its going to become a favourite.

I shall enter this in the latest Flickr Challenge, which is "Crazy for Colour".

Now to play with my other new stamp.
Have a great week.

Ink Blending.

The challenge over at the Flickr blog this time is "Ink Blending" and its not one of my favourite crafting techniques, mainly because I always struggle to blend the colours with out a marked line.  So I challenged myself to have a go !!  I know these are Autumnal colours but its so cold here today I needed to use  these warm oranges and yellows!  The dies are both by Simon Says, I am pleased with the blending and am off to have another play!

Hope its warmer where you are.

Love the shimmer on this.

I am adding this to both the Simon Says Flickr Group challenge and also the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.

More Autumnal Thoughts

Had another go at making an Autumnal card for the Simon Says Flickr Group challenge this time just using SSS dies and some smooshing with Distress inks. A simple card so just added some sequins for added sparkle.

A close up of the leaves which I cut twice and layered up.

The weather is definitely getting Autumnal here and the trees are beginning to turn.

Have a great weekend,

Bright summer sun!!

I had fun making this bright shaker card, using the "Cosmos Flower" stamp from Simon Says and zig brush markers.  It was difficult to photograph and capture the brightness of the flowers as the acetate kept reflecting.

Pleased with the end result though a perfect summer Thank You card for my daughter to give out.  She is a teacher and gives out lots of cards at the end of term.

I shall add this to the  Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge and the SSS Flickr Challenge #101.

The weather is still glorious here we have had over a month of beautiful sun and no rain,  the garden really needs the water but I am loving this weather!!

Summer!

I was lucky enough to win a bunch of stamps and dies from Debby's De Stash giveaway and this "lemonade" stamp set from Simon Says was part of the goodies.  I was waiting for the right opportunity to ink it up and the current "Summertime Fun "Flickr Challenge at Simon Says was the perfect challenge!!  Used Mustard Seed yellow distress ink for my lemons and the Wonky Rectangle die is also Simon Says.

With all the sport on I have found myself in the craft room quite a bit and have made this card for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Red, White and/or Blue)  The stamp is "Beautiful Day by Altenew and I watercoloured with Zig Brush markers. just added the sentiment and all done.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend

I stamped and embossed the image with Silver powder and coloured then die cut a frame (an old die and I am not sure who made it!) A CAS card , sometimes its good to have white space lol!!

Violets!

Violet is not a colour I would normally use but I wanted to try something different and challenge myself.  Stamped and embossed the "Artful Flower" set from SSS and then watercoloured , I made a couple of extra flowers to add the scalloped cut top, then added the sentiment. Not sure if its too busy really.

Adding this card to two challenges, the Simon Says Wednesday challenge " Add a die cut" and the SSS Flickr Group "Anything Goes" challenge.
