Snowflakes!

Another simple Christmas card using an embossing folder and dies from Simon Says Stamp!

The background folder is called Crystal Distortion and its so versatile, suitable for all sorts of cards.

After embossing I added loads of gems to the cross points for added sparkle, I then cut a few different snowflakes in white and pink glitter card and layered onto my card front. finally adding the silver embossed sentiment.

I am adding this card to the SSS Flickr group challenge "Creating for the Holidays"

Enjoy your weekend, its meant to get much colder here tomorrow so I thing we will be lighting the log burner and keeping cosy!

Pillow Boxes!

I needed a couple of gift boxes so made these pillow boxes,  decided to make them in a silver grey card.  This first one is decorated with lots of die cut snowflakes using Simon Says dies, cut in white and a blue glitter card. I then added the die cut Christmas using the Heffy Doodle die cut in gold. I then added the string tie to finish off.

This second box is again in silver grey, I have added the white embossed circle and some die cut red glitter baubles and gingham ribbon.  (not sure of where I got these dies)

Almost ready for Christmas now yeah!!

Snowflakes!!

I needed a couple of extra Christmas cards so got out my Simon Says Stamp snowflake dies to create these quick and easy cards.  This first one uses my gold wallpaper for the background which I have stamped and embossed in gold using various Hero Arts snowflake stamps.  I then added the SSS Eliza snowflake cut in gold glitter  and the gold sentiment from Heffy Doodles.

My next design uses a Tim Holtz embossing folder and more Simon Says snowflakes with a computer generated sentiment.
Two very easy cards, perfect for batch making.

I am adding both these to the Simon Says Flickr Group challenge "Die Cuts".

Silver Snow!

If you saw my last post about the wallpaper my neighbour was clearing out you will know that there was a roll of silver too.  Here is a card I have made using it as a background, it really is a quality paper and looks fabulous and shimmery as a backing for cards.

For this card I have embossed in silver an older stamp from Hero Arts called "International Christmas Script".  Then I cur the Simon Says Alicia snowflake in silver glitter paper and twice in white card, I layered these up to make the snowflake stand out from the card.  Lastly I added lots of silver stars and the die cut sentiment from Heffy Doodles.

This was a quick and easy card and it looks so elegant.

I shall add this to both the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Starry, Starry Night " and the current SSS Flickr Challenge "Merry Making".

Have a great week

Pink Snowflakes!

I was keen to play along in the Simon Says Flickr group challenge "Let your stencils shine"again but I don't have many stencils.  I decided to make my own with a couple of their snowflake dies.

I cut the "Kate" and "Eliza" snowflakes into some cardstock and used the outline of the cuts to rub some Raspberry Distress ink through, I then lay the cut snowflakes over the shape and carefully rubbed the ink over to create the shadow effect.

I then just added the die cut sentiment and some sequins, loved the effect it created and I am sure I will try this again.

I am also adding this card to the Simon Says Monday challenge "All things Pink"

I am still suffering with a nasty cold so am going to relax now with a Lemsip and a book.

Have a great weekend

Snowflakes!

I have just received this Snowflake die from SSS, I have wanted it for ages but its been out of stock.  At last I its arrived , maybe a bit late for my Christmas cards but I have it for next year lol!  I just needed to make a card and this simple design was perfect.  I have added shimmer to the base card with Nuvo Glimmer Paste and the SSS Falling Snow stencil.  Just added some more paste to the snowflake, added a sentiment and done.

Now the Christmas supplies are being packed away till next year !!

I shall add this to the current Simon Says Flickr Challenge.

Have a great week,

Sorry the Snowflakes are back!!!!

I have definitely had a theme running through my cards this year SNOWFLAKES lol!!! Here are a couple more cards this time in a non traditional colour scheme.  Love this pink glitter paper and have cut lots of snowflakes in it.  This first CAS card uses Simon Says dies, Stitched Squares, Holiday Frames and Rina snowflake.

For this second card (a revamp of  this card)  I stamped and embossed in white the SSS Kaleidoscope background onto water colour paper. Then coloured with Zig Brush markers in pastel colours. I then added my sparkly layered snowflake and the SSS Holiday Frame die cut in a shimmery cream card.  Then just added the sequins.  Loved making these in the pinks gives such a great look!

I shall add both these cards to the current Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge "Die Cuts".

Have a great Sunday.

More Snowflakes!!

After making my last card the glitter card I used for cutting my snowflakes made a fabulous stencil to use for the background on this card. I dabbed the stencil shapes with "Salty Ocean" Distress Oxide then embossed with a glittery embossing powder. I then added some snowflakes and gems and mounted onto a blue base card.

I shall add this card to the current SSS Flickr Challenge "Let your stencils shine".  Another Christmas card for my box Yeah!!

Have a great week.

I Love this Snowflake die!!

I really love my new snowflake die from Hero Arts, I love the dimension it creates and its so easy to use.  For this card I have used water colour paper and smoshed some blue Distress inks using an acrylic block and water.  I have then added lots of Wink of Stella to create a shimmery, sparkly background.  I have then die cut the Hero Arts snowflakes and also a Memory Box snowflake, behind the white one I have stuck some glitter card for even more shimmer.  I have touched in some of the flakes with a silver pen.  The gold embossed message is also Hero Arts.
This card is such a lovely shade of blue and I had a real job photographing it to get a good likeness, hence the two shots, I have also added a close up to try and show all the shimmery goodness.

This card actually fits three challenges this month, Hero Arts "Holiday Cardmaking", ABNH "Holiday themed " and the LOVE cards flickr group.  I dont usually post cards for multi challenges but this one fitted the bill!!!

More Snowflakes

While my Hero Arts "Snowflake Dies" were on my desk I decided to have another play using a background I had made using this Gina K "Waxed paper resist technique".  After ironing the waxed paper I used Peacock Feather distress ink to make this, I then cut with an Avery Elle die.

Next I positioned the snowflake dies and held in place with some washi tape. I then added the sentiment stamped, gold embossed and fussy cut using the Hero Arts"Holiday messages and frames "set.
I am adding this card to two challenges Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Totally Resistable" and the Hero Arts "Holiday Cardmaking" challenge.

I am off back to Surrey this weekend to see a show with my best friend, celebrating her Birthday.  We are seeing a dancing show featuring ex dancers from Strictly Come Dancing and I am very excited!!  Hope you enjoy your weekend.

Online Class

Another card cased from Day 1 of my online card class, this three fold card is based on Jennifer McGuires "Christmas Tree Card".  I decided to go with the fold but add this snowflake tag shape to the front.  The base is stamped with the same stamp as the snowflake base, the Hero Arts "Merry Background"

I am adding this to the current Hero Arts Challenge "A few of my favourite things" as I love to get inky and play with mixing my Distress inks.

Its been a busy this week at work and I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend!!
