Autumnal Colours

I needed some more birthday cards in my stash and I have also decided to try and use up some bits from my scrap box so here is the card I created. I shall add it to the Die Cut Divas challenge which this month is anything goes.

I die cut my base blank and then distressed it with a variety of Distress Oxide inks before running it through the Simon Says Spun Glass embossing folder. I then added the Flower Cluster die cut also from Simon Says.

I routed through my scraps and found these stamped flowers that I had coloured and not used.  The sentiment is hot foiled,  lastly I added the pearls.

I shall also add my card to the Simon Says Flickr Challenge "Stamping"

Have a great week

New Stencils

Before Christmas I was lucky to win a Simon Says gift card, one of my chosen items was this cute tree stencil which I couldn't wait to use.

I stencilled the trees and snowy ground using various distress inks, I then shaded in some sky and added some glitter paste for sparkle on the snow. Next I added the glittery stars and the two reindeer from a set by Clearly Besotted that I have had a few years now, they are a favourite of mine.  I have stamped, die cut and coloured them with alcohol markers before raising on foam for dimension.

I shall add this card to the challenge over at the Christmas Kickstart Challenge which this month is Stencils/masks.

Hope you have all had a good start to the year, the weather here has been wet and windy so I have taken the time to tidy my craft room ready for more creating.

Sparkly Trees.

I used the Forest Border embossing folder from Simon Says and embossed onto white card, I then lightly distressed with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink and rubbed gently with some clear glittery stickles.  I then added the L'll Gnome die cut also from Simon Says.  I decided not to add a sentiment to the outside of the card as it coved the very sparkly trees too much.
I then decided to also add some sparkle to the Gnomes beard which has also been run through my tree bark embossing folder for added texture.

I shall also add this card to the "Merry and Bright" challenge over at the Simon Says Flickr Group.

I am off to see my Granddaughter Eva this weekend as it's her First Birthday on Monday.  Oh my gosh this last year has flown by, it's been a very difficult year, but I am looking forward to spending some time with the family and celebrating.

Siver and White!

This was a simple card to make using the Facetted Snowflake embossing folder from Simon Says embossed in white card spread with some Stickles.  I then added the silver glitter die cut Simon Says snowflakes.

The Sentiment is Hot Foiled and I just added some pearls and silver wire, resulting in a very sparkly card.

Also the Die Cut Divas challenge blog, which this month is "Anything Goes"

This was such an easy card to make that I will be making more to add to my card stash as I know it maybe raided very soon by my daughter!

Have a great weekend, its raining and windy here so I hope you are having brighter weather.

Christmas Box Card

after watching a video by Jennifer McGuire on how to make shadow box cards and thought it would be fun to make a little Christmas scene.  I have used various stamps and dies, the little penguins are by Heffy Doodle and the reindeer by Clearly Besotted.  I have stamped and water coloured with my Zig brush markers then die cut.  The background uses a really old house and tree die from Memory Box. the sky and clouds in the background use distress oxide inks and a stencil i made myself.

This card folds flat for putting in the envelope but pops up nicely when you stand it .  The video was so easy to follow and I am really pleased with the results, I am sure I will be making more like this.

I am adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge "Anything Goes" and the Die Cut Divas Challenge "Watercolouring".

I am off to my daughters for a few days for a visit , I am really looking to playing with my little granddaughter Eva. Enjoy the rest of your week.

Christmas Kickstart Challenge

For my card I used the "Winter Flower" stamp set from Simon Says Stamp, I stamped and embossed the image in gold before loosely water colouring with my Zig brush markers.  I then added some splashes of white gouache paint and some pearls.  The sentiment is hot foiled.

I will also link this to the "Die cut Diva's" challenge "Watercolour"

Gradually filling my Christmas box but still have a way to go yet.

Card making at last.

After a few months off following the sad passing of my lovely husband I now feel ready to get back to card making.  Thank you for all your kind words and beautiful handmade cards following my last post, they were much appreciated. Cardmaking is a very relaxing and therapeutic hobby that allows my mind to escape, so perfect to help with my slow recovery.

My first card is for one of my favourite challenges "Christmas Kickstart " this months challenge is "Home for the Holidays"

I have recently got a Jelly plate and have made a few backgrounds with Oxide inks and various dies, this one uses a couple of Simon Says Snowflake dies pushed into the ink. I then added this older Memory Box die cut in glittery green cardstock.  My sentiment is made with a foiling machine.

I really need to get cracking on my Christmas card stash so this card is hopefully the start of my return.

Christmas Gnome.

I recently went on a craft workshop in Devon learning about Gelli Plate printing, it was a great class and I was really inspired by the images you can create using simple household items plus acrylic paint or even Distress Oxide inks.  Of course I got home and ordered my own Gelli Plate straight away!!

When it arrived I had great fun making loads of card backgrounds with my Oxide inks.  This one uses Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistachio inks and a Snowflake die from Simon Says , I also used bubble wrap which creates a fabulous effect in the ink.

With this background I also ran it through my Crystal Distortion  embossing folder for added texture. I then die cute this cute Li'l Gnome also from Simon Says in this beautiful pool coloured glitter card.

Just a heat embossed sentiment and some sequins and a very simple card.  I am going to have lots of fun with my Gelli Plate!!

I am adding this card to the "Christmas Kickstart Challenge  "From my Gnome to yours" and also the SSS Flickr challenge "Anything Goes".

Enjoy your weekend.

Another Slimline!!

Getting my mojo going so decided to make another slimline card for the SSS Flickr Challenge again using a piece of stamped card from my scrap basket.  I had stamped and embossed in clear the Cosmos flower background from Simon Says on some card smooshed with Distress Oxide inks.  I had graduated the colours so cut the three pieces to go behind my windows.

I then added the flowers and leaf cut using the Arched Leaf  and Flower Blooms die.  The sentiment is a foiled set from Spellbinders.

Its good to use pieces from my scraps as the basket is rather full at the moment!!

Lucky Find!!

I was lucky enough to find a couple of intricate corner dies from Crafters Companion in a local Charity shop, they were both , very cheap, unused and still in their packets,  so I had to bring them home with me!!

I particularly love this first one which is very intricate and couldn't wait to use it for a card.

A very simple design using a square die and layering the corner die on the card.  I then just added the SSS die cut flowers and leaves and a hot foil sentiment using my new Spellbinders set.

I am adding this card to both the Simon Says Flickr group challenge "Favourite Technique" I always love die cutting, such a simple way to make a card.

Also the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Bit O' Green".

Its a miserable wet day here in Dorset and it looks like its not getting any brighter over the weekend so I will be in my craft room this weekend!

Sunflowers!

Today I am joining the LOVE flickr group challenge for Ukraine The lovely LaVon is going to donate $50 to a charity to help the Ukrainian people.

Here is my card using Simon Says stamp Gerbera Daisy background coloured with Zig Brush markers to represent Sunflowers, I think the stamp works  very well for this purpose.

I have run my background card through the Cracked Distortion embossing folder before adding the sunflower strip.  I next added some gems and a hot foil sentiment from spellbinders designed by Yana Smakula.

Sending love to all affected by the conflict.

Snowflakes are winters butterflies!

The Christmas Kickstart challenge for this month is " Snowflakes are winters butterflies" and as I have not long had this gorgeous snowflake embossing folder from Simon Says  I knew it would be perfect.

First I embossed my die cut background and distressed with Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Oxide inks.  I then cut the S,N and W in silver glitter card and white card using Altenew's bold alphabet dies,  layering them up for more dimension. The snowflakes were cut in various colours and layered  adding a gem to the middle.

A very simple card to put together and very sparkly too.

I will also add this card to the SSS Wednesday challenge "Add a die cut" and the SSS Flickr group challenge ,"Favourite Technique"

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I needed a quick Thank You card and as I already had the "Arched Leaf and Flower "  Simon Says die on my desk ready , I cut some more flowers, this time with spring time colours and some gorgeous gingham card from Papermill Direct.

Such an easy card to put together, just added the die cut sentiment and some sequins for added sparkle.

I am adding this card to the challenge at the Simon Says Flickr group "Favourite Technique" as die cutting is definitely one of my favs although I have many favourites!!

I will also add it to the SSS Wednesday challenge "Add a Die Cut"

I have just had a lovely week up in Surrey visiting my new Granddaughter Eva, giving her mum a little break while I took her for long walks in her pram.  I was so lovely spending time with them.

Anniversary!

I needed an Anniversary card and my favourite Simon Says "Arched leaf and flower "die was still on my desk so I cut more flowers!!  This time with coloured cardstock, I also die cut the "Leafy Branch" die in vellum and some pearly white card.

The background is dry embossed with the SSS Crystal Distortion folder, I then added lots of pearls and the rose gold foiled sentiment.

I think the flowers look like cherry blossom!!

I shall add this card to the SSS Wednesday challenge "Anything Goes" and the Flickr group challenge "Dry embossing"

Looking forward to the weekend and hopefully some better weather.

Slimline card

Thinking of Spring and also new ways to use the "Arched leaf and flower " die from Simon Says. This time I have made a slimline card and  used the "Mini slimline windows" die for the frame which I have raised on sticky pads above tjhe gingham card.

cut and coloured all the flowers and leaves with zig marker, the butterfly is also a Simon Says die and I just found a scrap of patterned paper to match my colour scheme.

I was very lucky and hubby got me a Glimmer hot foil system for my birthday and I have made a batch of sentiments ready for my cards.  I love it and know hot foiling is going to be a fun addition to my cards.

I am adding this card to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Slimline cards" and also the Love Flickr group challenge "Anything Goes".

We have family visiting this weekend for my daughters birthday, so looking forward to lots of cuddles with baby Eva!!

Its never to early for a Christmas Card!!

The Christmas Kickstart challenge for this month is "The sentiment takes centre stage" and I knew the perfect sentiment would be this die cut Merry from Simon Says Stamp.

First I embossed a white panel with the SSS Faceted Snowflakes folder and fixed to my card. I then die cut the sentiment adding glitter gold card for the letters I also added the die cut tree also by Simon Says.

I shall also add this card to the SSS Wednesday challenge "Emboss it" and the SSS Flickr group challenge "Anything Goes"

We have just returned from a week away house sitting for my cousin, always love visiting as he has a fabulous garden with lots of wildlife visiting. Luckily the weather was good.
