Happy Birthday!!

I am hooked on this stamp at the moment, its from the Flower Garden set by Tim Holtz, the cherry blossom is coming out in my neighbours garden and I was inspired to use it again. I have watercoloured the flowers, but  they are more red than pink I will have to have another go I think!
I am adding this to the Happy Birthday challenge at Simon Says.

My neighbours beautiful tree!!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

90 Minute Scramble

For the first time in ages I was able to take part in the  scramble over at the Hero Arts flickr site.  Lisa provided us with a sketch and we had to make a card in  90 minutes.  I have just received this flower stamp as part of a prize and I have been dying to ink it up so here was the perfect opportunity.  Its such a pretty image and I know it will become a real favourite.

Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Look at this beautiful inspiration photograph from the new "Virginia's view challenge" over at the Lily Pad,  I love poppies and had the Hero Arts Long Stem Poppies still sitting on my desk after making this card.  So I started creating straight away and made this card.

This is quite a CAS card for me but I held back with the ribbons and twine this time!!  The poppies have been stamped and coloured with Copic markers,  I then fussy cut them out.  On the card base I have just stamped the Summer sentiment twice with Bundled Sage distress ink and distressed. I then over stamped with the poppy image ,  next I adhered the cut out poppies and added some pearls!

Looking forward to a relaxing weekend after a busy week, hope you have a great weekend and thanks for visiting, I really appreciate all your comments.

Happy Sunday!!

Although I have had a couple of weeks off work there has been very little time for crafting and blog visiting.  My daughter has been home from Uni and we have been so busy, she drove home yesterday, so today a card!!!!  I have followed a sketch over at the Hero Arts Blog but I am not sure I am pleased with the end result, my hand shook a little when adding the sentiment and it has a slight ghost image.  Never mind, its a card and hopefully I will have more time next week!

My Blue Phase!!!

My favorite colours are pink, red and orange but just lately I have been drawn towards blues and greens (so unlike me!!)  Here is my Blue Phase collection!!!I have made three cards over the past few days  using some distress stains and inks.

The first is using the Large Blossom Stamp from Hero Arts with the London Background stamp that lovely Linda sent me.  Thanks again Linda!!  The central panel has also been sprayed with shimmer mist so it has a lovely sparkle in real life.

This card is for the Lily Pad challenge and the Simon Says Challenge "Anything goes"  Its also a last minute entry for this months Hero Arts Challenge.
This second card is inspired by all the lovely "Wonky Rectangle" cards that Donna has been making, once I saw the die on her blog I knew I had to buy it, love the unusual shape for cards.

Its been a very inspirational time lately, after seeing this beautiful card that Franziska created I spotted the stamp she used on ebay and managed to get it at a bargain price!!  I love the water coloured effect you can create with these Silhouette style stamps.

Thank goodness its Friday tomorrow school closes now for a two week break, I am so looking forward to having some me time!!

P.S.  I forgot to add some really exciting news The Lily Pad is holding a fabulous week long Birthday blog hop starting on Sunday 1st April.  Be sure to check in on the fun as there will be PRIZES!!!!

Two more flower cards!

More playing with my markers, this is a small sunflower clear stamp from the Real Gardens Petals set that I haven't inked up before. I really love the water colour effect the markers produce.

Here is a close up view.
Poetic Petals

I made this card using up some scraps from my basket, always a good feeling, I need to make a few more like this as my basket is overflowing at the moment!!

Practicing my colouring!!

Hi Everyone just wanted share a card that I have made just for fun.  I wanted to practice my colouring skills so I made this by stamping the image onto watercolour paper and then colouring in  with distress inks.  After masking the poppies I then stamped over the background image using Old Paper distress ink and then distressed the edges with the same ink.  The poppies have been highlighted with a white gel pen.

Hope you are all having a great week.

Kaboodle Doodle Challenge

Another quick card using another image from Tiffany Doodles.  This is the first time I have entered the challenge over at The Kaboodle Doodle blog but seeing that Tiffany is sponsoring it this week I thought I would have a go.

This sweet image is called "flower and vase" and its such a great one to colour.  I have used copics again and then highlighted with my white Inkssentials gel pen.  The image has been masked so that I could stamp the background with the Her Arts Envelope pattern stamp.  For this I have used Old Paper distress ink and have spritzed with perfect pearls to give a lovely shimmer.

Sorry another quick post for me, I will visit a few more blogs tonight!!  Sorry I have been so bad lately!!

CR84FN 27

Another challenge and another fabulous colour combination to play with, I am afraid its another card with flowers but, spring has truly arrived and the gardens look fabulous in bloom and I have been inspired!!!

The photograph makes the flower look a little pale but I promise you it is very pink and vibrant, I have used my favourite Classic Fabric design stamp for the background. I have also used the technique Kathy's shows here to make my spellbinder shape a little larger.  The flower is from the Blossom Art set and I have stamped two, distressed with Worn Lipstick distress ink and the pop dotted together to give more dimension.

Here is a close up of the flower , the background swirl is by QuicKutz and has been embellished with liquid Pearls.
Enjoy your week!!!

PDCC# 80

Such a pretty inspiration photograph for this weeks challenge over at The Play Date Cafe, as you know I love colour challenges and these colours are just what I would choose when making  a card.
I have made this mini card, it only measures 3.25 inches by 4 inches, I haven't added a sentiment yet, I shall wait till I need a card and add it then.  This was such a simple card to make. The Large Blossom stamp has been stamped and embossed with White Pearls and the blooms are coloured with Barn Door and Wild Honey Distress inks. Added the ribbon and pearls after embossing and cutting with a spellbinders die and Voila!!

Can I just wish my friends in America and Canada a Happy Mothers Day, in the UK we celebrate Mothers Day in March so ours seems ages ago now!!

Lily Pad Cards and my First Blog Hop!!

Wecome to the Lily Pad Blog Hop!!!!

Hi everyone, its Wednesday and another exciting day in this fabulous Blog Hopping week, you have now reached hop 3 of day 3  and you should have arrived here from the wonderful  Virginia's blog . If you missed any hops on the way please go to The Lily Pad Cards to start at the beginning.

This blog hop started on Monday and features seven blogs per day,  it culminates on Friday, April 1, with the grand opening of Lily Pad Cards. Lily Pad Cards is a new challenge blog that will feature interviews, articles, videos, challenges, great prizes, and more!

Although Lily Pad doesn’t officially bloom until April 1, 2011, you’ll be able to see a new sneak peek every day until then. And you’ll definitely want to drop by because there are three HUGE prize packages with a total retail value of over $800 - including a $100 gift certificate to a very popular online store! Go here for specific prize details and contest rules.

The hop’s theme is "Welcome" because not only are we welcoming Lily Pad Cards to the neighborhood, but we’re also welcoming all of you to come in and join in all the fun.

I have decided to make two cards for the hop.

This is my first card and very much my style, I love pretty feminine cards with bling, butterflies and flowers!! I have made the background with a mixture of distress inks and perfect pearls for shimmer.  I then lightly stamped on the graph background stamp.  The butterflies are from Hero Arts and are stamped onto coloured vellum and embossed with white embossing powder, then layered up for texture. The handmade roses are made using a sizzix die cut (Thanks Suze)! I have generated the sentiment on the computer.

My second card is just a bit of fun to welcome all you hoppers to my blog!!! I wanted to make a card with a blue frog and a lily pad and as I didn't have the right stamps I just found the image on google and paper pieced it.  The jumping frogs in the background are made with a punch that I have had for years.

Please now hop to the next stop, which is over at Simon Says Stamps.  If you hit a bad link you can always go here to continue hopping.  Please report any bad links to webmaster@interlinkz.com.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you enjoy the rest of your hop!!!!

A new challenge.

This is a new challenge for me, but when I saw the mood board over at Simply Create, Alford I knew I would have to make a card.  I love these colours and the images are beautiful so I had to make a pretty card to match!

I have been having more fun with layered backgrounds and made this using Broken China distress ink on my HA Classic Fabric stamp and then spraying with perfect pearls for a light shimmer.  I have then lightly stamped the envelope pattered stamp just on the edges.
Hope you are all having a great St Patricks Day!
