Cocktails!!

The challenge over at the "Lets Squash it " blog is "Without Geometry life is Pointless" well this Simon Says Cracked Distortion embossing folder is my absolute favourite, I have used it on so many cards and it is perfect for this challenge.
The background colour is also my favourite two oxide inks Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean I have put it through the folder using the reverse image so the lines are more defined.
I then stamped this Tim Holtz Margarita cocktail on the back ground and then a second image that I have coloured and fussy cut, layering onto the card with foam tape. I also added some Nuvo glimmer paste to the edge of the glass to look like the salt on the rim.  Added lots of sequins for even more sparkle and a computer generated sentiment.

I think this card could be perfect for a masculine or feminine birthday!

Emboss/Deboss

A card for the current "Lets Squash It" challenge which is to use the same embossing folder to emboss and deboss on your card. I decided to use a flowery cuttlebug border folder embossing on the top of the card and debossing on the bottom.

I then cut a strip of card with an older wavy cutting die and then stamped and white embossed with the Simon Says "Gerbera" background stamp.

I coloured with Zig brush markers and added a hot foil sentiment and a few sequins.

I am off to visit a friend in Devon for a few days and the weather is set fair, looking forward to some long beach walks.

Stencil and Emboss.

The "Lets Squash it" challenge this month is to use a "Stencil and Emboss"  For my card I first used the SSS Spring Boho Circle stencil and some Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean Oxide inks to on my rectangular die cut blank.  I then used the Cuttlebug swirl frame embossing folder running just the bottom edge through my machine so that just the edge was embossed.

I then added some Altenew painted flowers layered up to add some dimension lastly adding the Birthday die cut in gold.

Making this was a change from Christmas cards but I need to get back to it as my daughter needs a few.

Embossing!

After a gorgeous week of glorious sun we now have more rainy days due,  disappointing but I have had more time to get in the craft room and make a card.

I love Distress Oxide inks and the blend beautifully, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade make a fabulous bright and summery mix when blended a perfect backdrop to the Gerbera Daisy Background.

I stamped with embossing ink and the heat embossed with clear powder. I then added a small border of patterned paper to the side before mounting on my card. I then just added the sentiment and sequins.

I shall add this card to the current Simon Says Flickr challenge "Emboss it"

Looking forward to watching some of the Olympics today, have a great weekend.

Lets Squash it!!

There's a new challenge on the block set up by my blogging friend Jo and her friend Gail called "Lets Squash It" and its all about using those long forgotten Embossing Folders gathering dust in your stash ( well they are in my craft room I have loads that haven't see the light of day for years!!)

The first challenge is "Geometric and metallic" so I dug around in my drawer and found this lovely geometric square design folder, unfortunately I don't know who makes this one as there are no names on it but I love the design on the white card.

The star is made with a really old sizzix embossing/stencil that i have used with some Gold glitter paste (hope that counts as metallic) and then cut out, the die Merry Christmas is my Simon Says.

I shall also add this to the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Anything Goes"

Another wet and windy day, so lots of crafting being done!!

Have a good week

Anniversary !

Made this simple Anniversary card today using the "Painted Flower" set from Altenew and gold embossing powder.  The Stitched Square cut die and sentiment are both from Simon Says.

I also layered up the panel on some glitter card for extra sparkle, then layered the sentiment onto foam tape before adding the pearls.  This would make a great wedding card too !

I am adding this to two challenges, the Simon Says Flickr group challenge "Embossing" and the Simon Says Wednesday challenge "Use more than one stamp"

Its a Bank Holiday weekend in the UK and the sun is shining, time to relax in the garden before watching the Monaco Grand Prix, 36 years ago we were there on our honeymoon so it has a special place in my heart!!
