Sympathy Card

I'm starting February off with a Sympathy card for a co-worker. Included in the inspiration from our kit was a few inks.

For my card I pulled out the Unity Stamp Company KOT February 2021 {a beautiful mindset} for the butterflies and Distress ink in Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers.

I used both inks on watercolor paper, dried it with the heat gun, and stamped in black ink.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2 - Use jean on your project

Welcome to Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2 - Use jean on your project. This is what JoJo had to say about this Challenge. "Use jean on your project somewhere. Either a jean paper, jean buttons, flowers or even make a jean pocket. You can use real jean material too".

I pulled out page kit #7 from my October Counterfeit Kit - Fall Splendor. I have blue white and rust cardstock, scraps of green and vellum, and the Birdie paper, mini brads in bronze and Stampin' Up Earth Elements brands, Pinkfresh Ink- Storm, Persimmon, and old Martha Steward ink for the olive color, Black Ink and clear embossing powder, Jillibean Soup Mini Alpha in Navy blueberry, and a few colored pencils. To make my embellishments, I am using Unity Stamps KOTM March 2012 {from head to soul} birdies stamped in green and Storm, March 2012 {HEART and SOIL} birdie and numbers stamped in Persimmon, and April 2012 {FOLLOW your own} It's a beautiful day stamped in black

I started by making a template for my pocket, a 4x6 pieces of cardstock, folded one end on the four-inch side together and cut the pocket shape.  Now that I have the shape I like, I cut it out of the blue paper and decided on the orange brads for the rivets in the top of the pockets. I used the colored pencils to draw in the stitching lines.  I used the white cardstock journal spot and the Jillibean soup letter for the title to tuck into the pocket.

I trimmed down the Birdie paper a smidgen, on the top and left and right sides, just so that I have a narrow blue outline from the cardstock. My photos are matted on the rust cardstock, I created a banner on the top right side with the scrap of green and blue cardstock and the Persimmon stamped birdies.

I didn't like the It's a beautiful day stamped on the white cardstock, so I stamped on vellum and used clear embossing powder on it. I then folded it over the top of the pocket and glued the flap down. I used foam tape underneath the pocket.

Page kit # 5 and # 6 - Zucchini Harvest

I'm using my Counterfeit Kit CKC October 2024 - Fall Splendor kit for my layouts today. I pulled out the papers from Park Lane - Happy Garden paper stack, scraps, white, red and black cardstock, DIY jars, enamel dots, Distress ink in Bundled Sage and black ink, and a December 2011 Unity Stamp KOT - {. . . filled with love} stamp set.  I added in some scrap paper of the gingham check, grid, scraps of green and orange.

I am using Christy's Beautiful Like 30 Days of Sketches for Day 5 and 6 for my inspiration.

Here is the sketch for Day 5

For Day 5 I am using the white cardstock as my background with the medium flower print, the light blueish green, two of the canning jars, DIY small printable alphabet tiles, the grid paper, and enamel dots. Here is the left side.

Here is the right side:

Here is the Sketch for Day 6:

Card #1 from CKC October 2024 - Fall Splendor

I'm using my October Counterfeit Kit CKC October 2024 - Fall Splendor. I pulled out the 6x6 paper pad from We R Memories, Unity Stamps KOT September 2024- {wander and wonder} and Unity Stamps KOT - March 2022 {never lose hope} , Distress Ink - Scattered Straw, Wild honey and mustard seed, gold embossing powder, embossing ink and black ink and flat backed pearls.

I started by making my card base out of Kraft cardstock. Using white cardstock, I stamped my image and used the distress ink with the smooching technique to color the basket of flowers, then colored around the card.

I added a flower, pearl and a piece of trim. I have a little box that I keep miscellaneous trim pieces that I use on my cards, tags, or bags. They are left over from scrapbook pages that I just cannot seem to throw away.  I used the Embossing Ink and bronze embossing power on the sunflower on the envelope. This sunflower is from the Unity Stamps KOT - March 2022 {never lose hope},

Don't forget to check out the Counterfeit Kit Facebook page for tons of inspiration.

May Looked Like this - 3 Double Page Layouts

I am finishing off the paper from Page set 3 for two of my double page layouts. The third on I pulled in another piece of Stampin' Up paper.

I am still using the wood veneer, distress ink, brayer, Unity Stamps and Stories of the Month stamps. I did not use the ribbon or the flowers going forward.

Here is the first set of double pages. My wood veneer changes as I used all of the tags that I had and switched to hearts.

The second set

For this last set I brought in another sheet of Stampin' Up paper. I had one heart left and a house with a heart in the center for this layout.

Thanks for Stopping by.

iNSD Layout 3 - The Hard Part

Today I am using Page Set #3 for my double page layout. My five items are embossing folder, brayer, stamps, wood veneer and flowers.

To meet the challenge of using 5 items I have added in to my page set twine, wood veneer, distress ink: bundled sage, peeled paint, tumbled glass and worn lipstick, stamps: Unity Stamps Kit of the Months -February 2021 {a beautiful mindset} the rain boots, January 2020 {you are enough-new beginnings} flower stamped in pink and February 2020 {timeless} blue stamped flower and leaves, Stories by the Month May 2020 - the hard part.

I started using the using the woodgrain embossing folder with a bunch of white scraps, then using the brayer to add the bundled sage ink.  The embossing looks like it is going across the page but in reality, it stops behind the photos.

On left side of the page I used a large wood veneer tag, stamped the boots and flowers then fussy cut and added a silk flower. "The hard part" is stamped, fussy cut and layered on the tag.

For the right side I used a smaller wood veneer tag with the boots and stamped sentiment.

I hope your day sparkles . . . Coral Card Challenge

Here is my first card with the 6x6 paper pad I put into my CKC March 2023 - Adventures Begins Here. I found a Through the Rainbow Challenge where they are working on the in-between colors of the rainbow. February's color is coral.

I pulled out the December 2021 - Kit of the Month {smile wider laugh longer} to stamp the flowers and sentiment. I used blank ink then heat embossed with clear embossing poser. I used color pencils to color the image in. I'm using the Jen Hadfield - DIY Home that I included in my kit. There is a perfect Coral background for the February 2023 Challenge.

I stamped another flower on the front of the envelope and embossed it. Now it looks like I need to January and March's challenge.

Forgeries on the Fourth

We are using the Scrapbook Werkstatt (https://www.scrapbook-werkstatt.de as our Inspiration kit this month.

Lisa, our Master Forger this month, said "I think there are a few items which could be forged - not least the velvet bows and some of the die cuts. But I know you will surprise me, as always, with your own ideas for what should be created!"

I of course pulled out many stamp sets and stamped a bunch on scrap pieces of cardstock. I will use these to tuck or as main embellishments. I love the bee hive and bees and will be using that on a card.

I also made a heart transparency with embossing power. The inspiration kit had the pink bows, but I could not find a bow stamp. I know - really no bow stamp. So I substituted the open heart stamp and blue embossing powder.  The hearts are die cut from scrap paper in various sizes.

I had these all done, and cleaning up my table when I turned around and saw my fabric. I know the bows were in velvet, but I decide to make a few burnt flowers out of silk. I'm saving my velvet for a quilt top. I can definitely part with the silk for some scrapbooking. I need pull out some organza to do the same.

I pulled out a piece of blue silk fabric, cut a rough, really rough circle, more like a square with the edges rounded, cut into it for the petals. Then burned the edges. I did not iron the fabric before doing this. I know that is a hug no no in sewing, but I am not sewing these. Be sure to be prepared to blow out the flames as it will burn fast. I have not made these flowers in a long time, so a few are really lop sided. I can use these for tucking.

Hello Sunflower card

In my previous post I made this sunflower frame using the stamp I included in my CKC Novembers 2020 - Autumn Blessing kit.

The frame measures 3x4 and is 1/2 wide. I stamped and colored in the sunflower, fussy cut it out and inked the edges with vintage photo ink.  A little bit of embroidery floss and a word sticker finish off the frame.

I also inked the edges of the frame and patter paper and assembled the card front. One card done and sent in the mail.

Cards

I have a few cards I made from the images I stamped from my Counterfeit Kit Summertime Cheers. In with my forgeries I included these images.

Card #1: Hello Sweet friend -I used the image from the June 2017 Kit of the Month {time to enjoy life} and stamped the ice cream sundae’s and colored them in with markers. I just used some scrap paper for the front of the card. I stamped the sentiment on the inside of the card. There are stickles on the white parts of the ice cream to add a little bling.

Card #2: Sending a BIG Hug – I stamped the larges fern leaf I had three times onto a piece of 5 ½ “x 4 ¼ “piece of cardstock.  Matted it onto green cardstock and added a sentiment. I used one the small fern leaf for the inside of the card.

Card #3: Heart Banner- This was stamped onto whitecardstock and die cut using a stitched rectangle die. The image is colored with markers to match the background paper.  I layered this onto black cardstock and pattern paper from Crate paper – good vibes and Pink fresh Everyday Musings 6x6 paper pads.

Card #4: This is a total copy of a card that Heather Hoffman made. Hers is a shaker card, click her to see it, mine is just a regular card. I just love the way it turned out and it’s my favorite so far. I used a scrap piece of cardstock behind the bird and a piece of vellum. I used distress ink for the splatters

Card #5: Miss You – I’m using the  mushroom stamp that I colored in with color pencils. I added a simple sentiment to the front of the card and the twine I included in my kit.

Card #6 I stamped the mushroom in a cup and colored in it in with colored pencils. I used a nesting oval die to cut the image and brown cardstock out.

Forgeries on the Fourth

Today on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog we display our forgeries. Just a reminder that our kit is from The Scraproom's Flavors of the Month August 2020 Kit.

I included in my kit this  month a ton of stamp sets and very little ephemera packs. I have plenty of stamps that I can make a few of the elements that were included in the Inspiration kit.

Kit #1 I stamped the Grill, Oven Mittens, Ice cubes and such. I have not colored in the drinks, ice cream cone or bottles yet. I have layouts planned for all three of them.

The grill was stamped twice with the Misty and colored in using markers then re stamped after coloring in. I have foam tape between the two pieces of the grill for dimension.  For the ice cubes I used gelatos to color.
The oven mittens were colored with colored pencils and I will be fussy cutting then out for my layout. I used markers for the Ice Cream sundae's  and a bit of Crystal Ice Stickles on the white parts of the ice cream and will be using that on a card.

My kit #4 is inspired by Simple Stories  - Simple Vintage Great Escape. With that kit I included these forgeries - ferns butterflies, a bird and mushrooms.

I stamped the fern leaves with three different colors of Stampin' Up Ink - Wild Wasabi, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive, then cut them out The butterflies were stamped and colored with markers then re stamped with black ink.  The mushrooms in a cup, bird on a branch and single mushroom  were colored with colored pencils. and now look like this

All three of these images are going to be used on cards.

I also stamped the largest fern for a card front.

These were stamped and included in my Embellishment kit. I an using the Heart Banner on a card front and the owl tag is going on a layout.
This journaling tag wit the owl was colored in with markers I'm not sure if I will be coloring the owl, but the sunglasses are the the color of my grandson's outfit that I am scrapping. The Heart Banner is going on a card front.
