Counterfeit Kit challenge #2 - Everyday Layout - Around Here - March 2024

My challenge this month is to make an everyday layout. It's a really easy challenge, but what picture do I use. that was the hard part. I finally decided to pull a couple of photos of Derek and Darcy around bedtime. It happens every day and there always seems to be a lot of antics between them.

I pulled out the two pictures of them playing before bedtime. Both were taken in March within a couple of weeks of each other. I am using my Stories by the Month for March 2021. 2022 and 2023 (chipboard piece, journal card, and stamp). The I pulled out a Martha Stewart punch to jazz up the page a bit with pink cardstock. pulled a floral spay I had cut a while ago and ran it through an embossing folder for more interest. The butterfly is a left over from a floral arrangement I dropped off at the nursing home.

It's a cute layout with a lot of different left over elements. Thanks for looking

Challenge #2 - Dog Days of Summer

Challenge #2 at the Counterfeit Kit is Dog Days of Summer: Create a Layout featuring pets, summer fun or lazy days.

I don't know about you, but I am definitely not having a Lazy summer or time for fun. It has been a very hectic summer for sure.  I'm using page set #2 from my August CKC - The Country Kit.

I included this house paper, the stripes and gingham in my kit along with some flowers and ribbon. I added the white cardstock, wood veneer and a stamped flower. The orange ribbon is the only scrap I had. I did not use the gingham paper.

I have a couple of photos I need to scrap for myself and my youngest of Ms. Izzy and her last Halloween Costumes. We would always dress her at Halloween. She loved greeting the kids at the door when we handed out candy.

I stamped the white flower added the wood veneer into the flower center

Scrap lift Challenge - Helping out

I'm using my July CKC Kit - Waiting for Summer for the Scrap life Challenge at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge.

We were to Scrap lift Julene's layout from 2014

and her blog post is here: Julene By Design: July Counterfeit Kit for her kit and here Julene By Design: Stuck on U sketches for her layout.

I pulled in this paper from DCWV "Taja Mahal" from 2009. I thought the circle design was a good representation of Julene's paper. I also had no ideas of the photos I would scrap when I pulled my kit together. I found a few pictures of Derek helping out when we were shoveling snow. I thought the circles made excellent snowflakes.

I added a few things when it came time make my layout, Dark Blue, white, orange and red cardstock, 3 snowflake punches, alpine snowflake, crystal and large Fiskars snowflake punch, I am using the Martha Stewart Cherish border punch.

I matted the paper with the dark blue cardstock along with the photos. My photos are a different size than Julene's 1 4x6 and 2 4x4. I added the punched border to the bottom of my 4x6 photo and the top of the page. I found a mitten ephemera and added that to the circle. The snowflakes are punched in the orange, red and white cardstock. I love how this layout turned out. Thanks for stopping by.

The Dance

Today I'm using papers from Capture Life that was in my CKC July 2025 - Waiting for Summer. I am also scrap lifting Shannon Keith at Creative Chaos in TN Fun in the Sun Challenge.

I made my template and cut my pieces for the layout. I did have to pay attention to the patterns in this set of papers.

I roughed up the edges of the papers, inside borders only. I used a gray cardstock for the mat behind the photos. I stamped the flowers and fussy cut them for the corners.

For page two I used a few of the cut a-parts and left plenty of room for her journaling and her pictures.

Thanks for stopping by.

Ate this and loved it layout

I pulled the bright circle paper from my CKC July 2025 - Waiting for Summer kit and pared it with a DCWV Old World Stack paper. I am using 30 Days of Sketches Series 18 with Christy's Beautiful life sketch #1.

I used a ribbon and a scrap white scallop edge at the top of the layout. The photo has a paper clip and a chipboard element. I used a camera and circle with one of the "ate this and loved it" stickers from my kit.

For the 8 1/2x11 layout I used green ribbon at the top and changed up the elements on the side.

For my layout I used both the green and orange ribbon at the top.

Thanks for stopping by.

Dream Layout

Today I'm using the 6x6 paper pad I included in my July Counterfeit Kit and following a sketch on Ginger's Corner Facebook group.

I pulled papers from the Crate Paper "Good Vibes" paper pad and a few of the elements from the Pink Paislee "Bloom Street die" cuts.

I thought the pinks in this paper pad were perfect for Darcy taking a nap at Grandma's.

As usual I made 3 layouts with little tweaks on each layout.

Up first is layout one:

I added in chipboard flower and bow from my stash.

My 12x12 layout.

I added in a chipboard frame I just cannot seem to get used up.

The 8 1/2x11 layout.

I used different papers and the other half of the chipboard frame.

Thanks for stopping by.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2 - Use jean on your project

Welcome to Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2 - Use jean on your project. This is what JoJo had to say about this Challenge. "Use jean on your project somewhere. Either a jean paper, jean buttons, flowers or even make a jean pocket. You can use real jean material too".

I pulled out page kit #7 from my October Counterfeit Kit - Fall Splendor. I have blue white and rust cardstock, scraps of green and vellum, and the Birdie paper, mini brads in bronze and Stampin' Up Earth Elements brands, Pinkfresh Ink- Storm, Persimmon, and old Martha Steward ink for the olive color, Black Ink and clear embossing powder, Jillibean Soup Mini Alpha in Navy blueberry, and a few colored pencils. To make my embellishments, I am using Unity Stamps KOTM March 2012 {from head to soul} birdies stamped in green and Storm, March 2012 {HEART and SOIL} birdie and numbers stamped in Persimmon, and April 2012 {FOLLOW your own} It's a beautiful day stamped in black

I started by making a template for my pocket, a 4x6 pieces of cardstock, folded one end on the four-inch side together and cut the pocket shape.  Now that I have the shape I like, I cut it out of the blue paper and decided on the orange brads for the rivets in the top of the pockets. I used the colored pencils to draw in the stitching lines.  I used the white cardstock journal spot and the Jillibean soup letter for the title to tuck into the pocket.

I trimmed down the Birdie paper a smidgen, on the top and left and right sides, just so that I have a narrow blue outline from the cardstock. My photos are matted on the rust cardstock, I created a banner on the top right side with the scrap of green and blue cardstock and the Persimmon stamped birdies.

I didn't like the It's a beautiful day stamped on the white cardstock, so I stamped on vellum and used clear embossing powder on it. I then folded it over the top of the pocket and glued the flap down. I used foam tape underneath the pocket.

Be sure to check out the  Facebook Community Group to see what everyone else created for challenge #2. Thanks for stopping by.

Page kit # 5 and # 6 - Zucchini Harvest

I'm using my Counterfeit Kit CKC October 2024 - Fall Splendor kit for my layouts today. I pulled out the papers from Park Lane - Happy Garden paper stack, scraps, white, red and black cardstock, DIY jars, enamel dots, Distress ink in Bundled Sage and black ink, and a December 2011 Unity Stamp KOT - {. . . filled with love} stamp set.  I added in some scrap paper of the gingham check, grid, scraps of green and orange.

I am using Christy's Beautiful Like 30 Days of Sketches for Day 5 and 6 for my inspiration.

Here is the sketch for Day 5

For Day 5 I am using the white cardstock as my background with the medium flower print, the light blueish green, two of the canning jars, DIY small printable alphabet tiles, the grid paper, and enamel dots. Here is the left side.

Here is the right side:

Here is the Sketch for Day 6:

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #2 - Color Explosion!

Welcome to Counte3rfeit Kit's challenge #2 - Color Explosion! Laura asked us to create a layout bursting with color, using vibrant hues and playful patterns to express joy and creativity. There is no journaling as it is part of Darcy's birthday pictures for Katie's album, the picture is of Grandpa Mark and Darcy.

I used the Distress ink in picked raspberry, peacock feather, and twisted citron. I have the mini–ink pads. I used the ink pad on white cardstock to make my background, just inkpad to paper. This is my Vibrant hues paper.

From my stash I found the "love" cut is from a Cricut cartridge that was already cut out, the butterflies are ones that I have fuzzy cut out of other pattern paper and keep in a small container for future use. I glued the butterfly body and used foam dots behind the butterfly wings to give dimension.,

I did get a picked raspberry smudge where the bottom left had side cluster is. I used a word sticker and flower from the Carpe Diem sticker book and another butterfly.

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #3 - Let's Get Sketchy - These Two

Today we have the Counterfeit Kit Challenge #3 - Let's Get Sketchy. Here is the Sketch Master Forger Misty chose.

I changed it up a bit. First off, I went with a busy background paper for the heart and pink cardstock for the background. Then my photos are landscape and not vertical.

I backed the pink cardstock with the teal arrow pattern paper that was in my kit. Instead of having the hearts by the title I added them to the pennant at the bottom of the page. I don't have journaling on this one as it is part of other pages that actually have the journaling on them.

May Looked Like this - 3 Double Page Layouts

I am finishing off the paper from Page set 3 for two of my double page layouts. The third on I pulled in another piece of Stampin' Up paper.

I am still using the wood veneer, distress ink, brayer, Unity Stamps and Stories of the Month stamps. I did not use the ribbon or the flowers going forward.

Here is the first set of double pages. My wood veneer changes as I used all of the tags that I had and switched to hearts.

The second set

For this last set I brought in another sheet of Stampin' Up paper. I had one heart left and a house with a heart in the center for this layout.

iNSD Layout 3 - The Hard Part

Today I am using Page Set #3 for my double page layout. My five items are embossing folder, brayer, stamps, wood veneer and flowers.

To meet the challenge of using 5 items I have added in to my page set twine, wood veneer, distress ink: bundled sage, peeled paint, tumbled glass and worn lipstick, stamps: Unity Stamps Kit of the Months -February 2021 {a beautiful mindset} the rain boots, January 2020 {you are enough-new beginnings} flower stamped in pink and February 2020 {timeless} blue stamped flower and leaves, Stories by the Month May 2020 - the hard part.

I started using the using the woodgrain embossing folder with a bunch of white scraps, then using the brayer to add the bundled sage ink.  The embossing looks like it is going across the page but in reality, it stops behind the photos.

On left side of the page I used a large wood veneer tag, stamped the boots and flowers then fussy cut and added a silk flower. "The hard part" is stamped, fussy cut and layered on the tag.

For the right side I used a smaller wood veneer tag with the boots and stamped sentiment.

I am starting with page set 2 plus the items for the challenge and a couple of scraps.

I started by backing the cut file with the paper in the kit and matting the photos with scraps. I added the strawberry rub on and sequins, then added the journaling spot with the girl rub on. for the glitter I used stickles. The sticker on the bottom of the page gets carried onto page 2.

The rub on flowers and another sticker border at the top to finish off the page.

A few close ups of the details.

iNSD Layout 1 - Happy memories

Layout one for iNSD I picked washi, acrylic paint, ribbon, black cardstock base and pocket cards to include on my layout. I am using page kit #1.

I already had the photo the cardstock and paint in my CKC May 2024 - Waiting for Summer. I had no idea which of the 5 additional supplies I was going to add.

I used a baggie to apply the paint. While it was drying, I matted my photo and laid out the scraps. With two of the 5 items already decided I had to figure out the rest. The journal card is a the top - Happy Memories, and I will journal when I find the date of the pictures. I added two strips of washi next to the paper border on the side. I found a black and white flower to add to the white and orange flowers, I even used a bottle cap.
