No Stamp Wedding Cards

Here are some really easy, yet still elegant wedding cards. There isn't a lot of layering on these cards. The only stamping is what I do on the inside! The base card is shimmy cardstock run through the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder. I then used stickers from K&Co. for both cards. The silver paper is from some blog candy I won last month. I then tied off the side with organza ribbon! I have tons of stickers that I bought to use for scrapbooking and either didn't use or only used some of them. If they're nice stickers like this, why not use them for cards?

Tart and Tangy Watermelons & Cupcake Challenge

This card actually fulfills a couple of challenges. The first is Taylors Cupcake Challenge. The second is to use nestabilities - which I used for my rectangle and for my pink scallop rectangle at http://www.mdcchallenges.blogspot.com/. The last is for Our Creative Corner - I had to use embossing and I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the background on the CTMH cardstock - Amethyst. The ribbon and flowers were from some blog candy that I won so I have no idea what company they are from. The DP is Basic Grey Euphoria. The cupcake stamp is from Inque Boutique and I paper pieced the cupcake liner with Euphoria paper. The icing was colored in using Copics and the sprinkles were Taylor Twinkles. The bling in the center of the flowers are from Doodlebug.

I can't take credit for this idea. I saw this on someone else's blog but I can't remember where! What you do is take your orange stamp from the SU tart and tangy stamp set and use your markers to color the flesh red and the rind green, stamp and then cut in half. Use your black marker to draw seeds and then I used crystal effects over the seeds to make them shiny.

On the first card, I made my own background by making dots with my black marker. All cardstock is CTMH and I used my cuttlebug.

On the second card, I used my cuttlebug and my SU slit punch to create a scalloped border.

FYI: Marie is giving away a Lavender Vanilla Scrapbook Kit over on her blog and I want to win it. All I had to do was post THIS link to Go. Be Creative. (http://www.go-be-creative.com/) here and I am in the drawing for the kit. Check out GBC if you have a minute!
Marie from http://www.mariasstudio.blogspot.com/ also has a giveaway.
Magnolia candy can be found here: http://artfullyila.blogspot.com/

Enjoy!

More Studio G Heart Candy

Today's heart candy is a selection of Studio G stamps - 9 in all. Selection may vary from this picture.

My blogoversary is coming up the first week in June and I will be celebrating a month early since my baby is due the first week in June! Every day for the next two weeks I will be posting a new prize. To win that day's prize just leave a comment on that day's post by Wednesday, May 14. I will select the winners for all the prizes on Friday, May 16. You can win more than 1 prize! I will be using random.org to select the winners. If you are a subscriber, you may leave two comments on each day's post for an extra chance at winning.

Here is the card that I created for my mom for Mother's Day.
Isn't fun? I used my cuttlebug embossing folder on the sunny yellow for the background. The uniform was a stamp from a wood mounted retired CTMH Basketball set. I used the CTMH Works Alphabet for the "Go Lakers" I looked everywhere for Laker stickers or Laker DP or anything that I could use for a card and I couldn't find anything so I just decided to create my own look. Now that the Lakers are 2-0 in the second round my mom is really getting the fever. We are celebrating Mother's Day at the Cheesecake Factory on Saturday because of the game on Sunday. So hopefully this card will be good luck!

Cuttlebug Flowers and Summer Heart Candy

Here is a card that I made to submit to the Paper Trey Ink site. I used the stamp set Women of Life and the new April paper pack. I used my cuttlebug flower set along with lightweight coasters to make the flowers. The ribbon is May Arts because I hadn't gotten my Paper Trey Ink order yet with the new ribbon. The stems were stamped with Aqua Mist ink. I really like the way it came out.

This week's heart candy is a Fiskars acrylic stamp set - the name escapes me but it's a brand new stamp set with summer images. To win is easy, just leave a comment on this post by midnight Tuesday and I will select a winner on Wednesday, April 30. If you'd like you can answer this question, are you a cardmaker, a scrapbooker or both? Also, do you use up your scraps? or do you, gasp, throw them away? I am starting to get overloaded with scraps, some are easy to use up but others I'm just not sure what to do with! I am working on lots of cards so I hope to upload some new projects soon! Enjoy your Friday!

Chocolate Elegance

Here is a simple card for you today. It's simple but I think elegant too. The colors used are CTMH chocolate and vanilla. The vanilla piece was run through my cuttlebug using the stylized flowers embossing folder. The dp is AU Chocolate from SU and the ribbon is also SU as is the sentiment. I just think the Au Chocolate paper makes such elegant cards. This card would be great for a wedding or a birthday.

I had my Dr's apt yesterday. All is well except I feel like I'm gaining too much weight. With Tyler, I only gained 20 lbs and I've already gained 18 with this baby and I still have 11 more weeks to go. So I better start really laying off the junk because I dont' think I'm going to have a 15 lb baby! Talk to you all soon!

Evan's Card and Winners

It's been hectic in my house as always. My husband has a work potluck today and volunteered to make jambalaya for 40 people. Volunteered? Not himself of course, but his loving wife. He comes home yesterday with a 100 degree temperature and goes right to bed so somehow I juggle handling a fussy baby (he's mad at daddy for not playing with him) and making jambalaya. I somehow accomplished it but it didn't leave too much time last night for anything else but bed! I did make this card though for my cousin's sweet little boy who just turned 3. He loves cars like mad!

I used all CTMH products for this card and another sketch from Angel. I just cuttlebugged Indian Corn Blue cardstock and attached a layer of dp from CTMH's Rough and Tumble paper pack. The stamp is from Little Boys. Inside I just stamped Happy Birthday. Super easy, 10 minute card. That's all I have had time for so far this week. But I figure my husband owes me with the whole jambalaya thing so I will be cashing in and giving him baby duty so I have some time to stamp!

Now onto what people really came to the blog to see today. The winner! Well first, a little housekeeping and a vent. Last week's winner never contacted me. Doesn't appear to be a regular visitor with my site which is fine - part of blog candy is to get new people to come visit and say hi. But if you participate in blog candy, come back and see if you've won. I keep a little log with the date to check back if I'm not a subscriber to that blog and the blog address and visit to see if I've won or maybe one of my new blog mates has won.

The winner of the lovely gift certificate is Tanya from PaperFix. Please contact me and verify the email address to send your candy too. If I don't hear from Tanya by noon Friday I will pick a new name!

Be sure to check back on Friday when I will have another wonderful Heart Candy Giveaway and stay tuned because I will give away surprise RAKS and a Super Heart Candy Giveaway at my next milestone.

I hope that everyone has a fun and safe Halloween!

Another Criss Cross

I saw this different orientation criss cross card on Cambria's site and decided to make one. The papers are Doodlebug and the stamps are Beautiful Blooms by Paper Trey Ink. I used the colors Holiday Red, Indian Corn Blue and Clover Meadow.

The sentiment is Verve Visual. You know the weather here is nuts. One week it's hotter than hot and then it's actually supposed to rain here today. Rain in Southern California? Unheard of...so leaving for work early, just in case (and to get me a really big non-fat white mocha from Starbucks!) Have a good day everyone!

Card for Monday

I had a lot going on this weekend. I went to a baby shower on Saturday and my baby's first birthday party. Poor baby broken out in a rash and had a fever, found out he had Roseola, which I had never heard of. I'm told it's common in baby's of his age but he spent his party looking like he had polka dots. I did make this card for a swap.

The stamps are My Favorite Things and the paper is the Fall stack from DCWV. I used my Spellbinder scallop and rectangle dies for the first time. I used a white galaxy pen and Martha Stewart ribbon. The Boo was die cut with my cuttlebug. I think I might add a brad or two because it just seems to plain to me. The image was colored in using copics. Anyway, I hope you all had a great start to your week. Pin It Now!

More Sketch Samples

Well today is a better day. Thank you all for your kind wishes. My husband's Excursion had a good amount of damage from the blowout. I guess the force caused the car to bounce and hit his muffler which completely bent and there is some cosmetic damage as well. But he's ok just bummed that his "baby" is hurt and has to go to the car hospital.

I got a prescription for my little guy's excema so let's hope that works. He did NOT want to go to daycare, poor thing. This morning, he woke up early and would not go back to sleep if I didn't hold him. I think he was afraid that when he woke up I wouldn't be there.

I went to my first SU stamp club meeting. It was quite nice. We made two cards, they weren't quite to my style but I learned some new things so that was cool. I bought the tag corner and and ticket corner punch and a stamp set called short and sweet.

Tomorrow I will have some more blog candy so be sure to come back and check it out. In the meantime, I have quite a few projects to share all utilizing the same sketch but all with a very different look.
I used Lilac Mist and Buttercup CTMH cardstock. The dp is called Sarah from SU. The stamp is American Art Stamps which I colored in with copics and paper pieced the outfit. The ribbon is CTMH Lilac Mist. The buttercup cardstock was cuttlebugged with the baby embossing folder. The sentiment is from a $1.00 Michaels acrylic stamp set.
This is Giftabella, all pretty in pink. The cardstock is CTMH baby pink which I ran through my cuttlebug with the swirls embossing folder. The dp is from Making Memories. I paper pieced her outfit and everything else is colored in with my copics. I used my Marvy scallop punch and the sentiment is from a Michaels $1.00 acrylic stamp set.
I used all CTMH products for this card. The stamp set is called Totally Chic. I used chocolate and blush. The blush cardstock was run through my cuttlebug using the swirls embossing folder. The paper is More to Adore and the ribbon is the chocolate ribbon round. I did use my Marvy scallop punch (not a CTMH product).
I also used CTMH products for this card. I used the Delight in Everything stamp set with the Let's Get Together Paper pack. The colors used are Cranberry, Garden Green and Buttercup. The sentiment is from a Michaels $1.00 acrylic stamp set and I used my scalloped scissors on the sentiment and the brads are from Just4Fun.

My last card uses a Fluffles stamp from Stampendous. I colored the lights with copics and Fluffles is colored in with Prismacolored pencils. The dp is from a paper slab that I cannot for the life of me remember the name of. The ribbon is CTMH. I cuttlebugged some snowflakes on the side instead of putting a sentiment since the stamp already has one on it.

I hope you enjoyed these cards. Thanks for looking!

Pink and Black

I hope that everyone had a nice weekend. I didn't get a lot of time to craft this weekend but I did make a scrapbook layout for a challenge and a tent card which I hope to load onto my computer today and post soon. In the meantime here are two cards that I did last week.
This card uses the Stylin' paper pack from CTMH. The colors are hollyhock and black. I used my cuttlebug to emboss the black piece.

This is the same card, except I used one of my stick ladies stamps. This is a Karen Stolper stamp from American Art Stamps. I picked up a ton of these the last two years at the Rubber Stamp Convention and have finally inked up a couple. I also used stickles on the trim of her dress.
Don't forget blog candy! You have until Tuesday to enter and then I will be posting more candy on Friday!

Blog Candy!

How Exciting, I'm almost at 1500 hits! So I think that it's time for some blog candy. I have so much extra stuff and stamp sets that I never use, that I plan on purging by giving away blog candy every couple of weeks or so....so be sure to keep checking back. This time I am giving away a 12x12 K and Company, Brenda Walton paper pack. I used maybe 30 sheets of this beautiful paper so there are about 70 sheets or so left! I'm also giving away the CTMH acrylix stamp set A Little Bee. I just never use it and with the new catty coming out, I need to make room!

All you have to do to win is to leave me a comment on this post (1 comment per person please!) what your favorite designer paper is! I love paper and would love to expand my horizons. You have until midnight Tuesday, July 24 to leave a comment and I will use the random number generator thingy to pick a number and post a winner on Wednesday, July 25.

Here is a card that I made to use up some notecards that I had. Yep, my goal is to use up what I have because it really is hard to justify buying more when I have so much stuff lying around! I used a retired wood bee stamp set from CTMH, my cuttlebug embossing folder and sunny yellow and black for the colors.

Bella Contest

Hi everyone,
On the CTMH Friends Group there was a buzz of interest about blogs. My philosophy for this blog was to focus as much as possible on scrapping and stamping. My hope is that updating this blog and meeting new stamping friends will motivate me to create! I have so much stuff, from all different companies, my New Year's resolution was to stop hoarding and to start using, since starting this blog, I think that I am finally starting to meet this resolution.
Now on to my creations for today. I decided to do a bella sketch challenge put on by Tracy. I actually do not own any and Tracy was kind enough to send me some images so that I can play.

I used my coluzzle to cut out Flowabella and mounted it on blush cardstock that I ran through my cuttlebug (swirls embossing folder). I also used CTMH chocolate cardstock and More to Adore paper. I colored her using my Prisma colored pencils.

For this entry, I random stamped in buttercup the flower from CTMH's Delight in Everything. I used Cranberry and Garden Green Cardstock and the paper from Let's Get Together. The cranberry cardstock I ran through my diamond corrugator.

For this last entry, I used Hollyhock, Black and Blush cardstock as well as the paper from Stylin'. I have small black brads on the side and tied it off with the ribbon. The paper seemed a little busy so I tried to tone it down a little but I also think the paper goes perfectly with this cute little stamp. Please let me know which one of these you like best!

Winner! Winner!

Today I won 3 blog candy contests. That's right, 3! I think that I better go out and buy a lottery ticket! First, I won a wonderful stamp set from Rose Ann at Paper Delightz.

Then I got an email telling me that I won a $10 gift certificate to Electric Paperie from Lisa at Inkderdoodle.

Then I won some lovely ribbon from Gretchen at her blog.

I planned on posting another organization tip for Tuesday but I was just so busy this weekend to actually organize anything and then I had a job interview on Monday which really stressed me out. So today I would like to talk about my new favorite tool - the Cuttlebug. I got this wonderful die cutting machine for Christmas but just recently took it out of the box due to the wonderful examples that I have seen posted on various blogs.

The machine is not very expensive and you can use your Joann and Michaels coupons to purchase this. If you can time it right, Joann has 50% off coupons usually around holidays. The dies and embossing folders are fairly inexpensive. I find that the embossing folders are around 5 bucks. Which is totally cheap. I originally wanted it for embossing but I have found myself buying all of the dies as well which I haven't used quite as much. You can use other dies in this machine and there are all kinds of websites out there that discuss how to put these dies in your machine. I just purchased a Quickutz die and I will be trying it out soon to see if it works. If it does, it gives you endless possibilities! I know that there are lots of wonderful die cutting machines out there (I have the Cricut as well!) but this is the one that I use and really love- it's light, its portable and its inexpensive and really easy to use!

I have done some creating. Not as much as I would like. I am still trying to recreate some of the SU stamp camp projects that I made and use CTMH products instead. We made this Father's Day (all products and materials are SU). It has very little stamping.

Here is my version, which I totally do not like. I think that this layout in general does not appeal to me. I think I would much rather have seen a stamp used but at least I met this part of my challenge. All products and materials are CTMH

I als0 made this card using Flowabellah and papers from CTMH. I also used my swirls cuttlebug embossing folder. It's a 4x4 cards. I just happened to have all of these pieces laying around and put them together for this card. Oh, I also used my oval Coluzzle. I colored everything with my brand new Prismalcolor pencils and mineral spirits. I like how it came out!

Last day of School

Today was my last day of work for the school year! I plan on just spending the summer with my 9 month old and catching up on my scrapbooking and cardmaking! I worked today on some cards using the CTMH paper Let's Get Together. I just love these colors. I started with making some clippies. These were inspired by Cambria Turnbow. I used the lightweight coasters and my flower dies in my cuttlebug. I didn't have the right color brads so I used buttons and tied them off with some cute ribbon! I love these. They were really easy to make. The hardest part was finding these mega paperclips! I had to buy 50 of them so I plan on making more of these bad boys.

I then made two Birthday cards. The first I ended up not liking. It just seemed to really lack something. I used the Let's Get Together Paper Packet, Delight in Everything and Happy Birthday stamp set by CTMH. The green ribbon is from Stampin' Up. I also used the Happy Birthday embossing folder for the cuttlebug.

I then took the same supplies and played around with it a little and came up with this. I just think that it

came out so much better. My picture is pretty dark but it looks very bright and cheerful in person. I finally got to use some eyelets I've been hoarding.

Tomorrow I'm going to Stampin' Up stamp camp where I will be making 25 cards. I'll be sure to share what I make as soon as I get a chance. Pin It Now!
