Hello Pumpkin

Today's card uses a stamp set from Verve that I forgot that I had, it's a little mini stamp set with this cute pumpkin and a couple of sentiments. I used scraps from a DCWV stack that I used to make some gratitude mini albums for gifts. I used my cricut to cut out the mat. Very easy card, getting ready for my 25 Days of Christmas along with all of my other holiday preparation! The winner is NIKKI. Please email me with your address. I am taking a week off from blog candy but will be back next week with more candy so don't forget to visit me!

Beautiful You

Don't forget BLOG CANDY can be found here.
This is a card that I made for a Verve Stamps sketch challenge. I used the stamp set Beautiful You for the main image as well as the sentiment. I also used this SU DP called Flock together. The cardstock colors are tempting turquoise and so saffron. Not my usualy color combination. I just think it's looks fabulous though. It's really nice to go outside of the box once in awhile.

This weekend was super busy! I went and had dinner with my sister and some friends to celebrate one of our friend's birthday. Then we went to the movies. I haven't been to the movies in like forever so it was a really treat. We saw Ghosts of Girfriends Past...cute chick flick and Matthew Mcconaughey is always nice eye candy. Then on Sunday was a billion loads of laundry and trying to clean up some of my stamping/scrapbooking mess that was literally invading our bedroom! I hope that everyone had a fun weekend.

Verve Stamps Sketch

This is a card that I made for the Verve Stamps April release sketch challenge. This stamp uses A cupcake Affair which can be purchased at the Verve Shop
I also used Sweet Always DP from SU. The colors I used are close to cocoa and pink pirouette. The button is from SU and the ribbon is from my stash. Everything is going pretty well except I think that I'm now getting pink eye! Ugh! I hope that it's my imagination.

The sentiment is SU. I used Making Memories button and flower to meet the other part of the challenge. I think it looks like wallpaper!

Spring Butterfly

Here is another card made for Verve Stamp's March challenges. It was a sketch challenge and I had to use the colors pink, red and green. So I pulled out my SU Bella Rose DP. The stamp set is Verve Stamps Fluttering By and the sentiment is also Verve but I can't remember the name. The ribbon and brads are from my stash. The butterfly is stamped in rose red and is propped on foam tape. The sentiment is stamped in riding hood red. I really like how the card came out, very springy and I even plan on sending this card!

Chocolate Cupcakes and a Lily cupcake

Here are some super cute pics of Lily. She will be offically 10 months old tomorrow! I can't believe that my baby is almost 1. Isn't she just gorgeous? Ok enough gushing about my Lily, how about a card today?

This is a card that I made for a Verve challenge. It was a sketch challenge but I also had to make it a birthday card. The stamp is from Verve's Cupcake Affair and the sentiment is MFT. I stamped the main image in chocolate and the top flower and image are stamped in riding hood red. The icing on the cupcake is covered in stickles and it looks so sparkly and yummy. The ribbon is from my stash and the dp is Au Chocolat, long retired from SU. I am still on Spring Break countdown, only a few more days until Friday!

Day 14 of the 25 Days of Christmas

Here is a fun card using the new stamp set from Verve Stamps called Snow Wonderful. I stamped 3 snowmen and cut them out and used dimenionals to pop two of them out. The Vanilla cardstock was run through the cuttlebug using the snowflake embossing folder. The dp is Basic Grey Wassail and was diecut using the Top Note Die. The sentiment was stamped in red and then punched out using the label punch. The ribbon is red satin from May Arts. I paperpieced the hats using scraps from the Wassail paper pack. Enjoy!

Day 13 of the 25 Days of Christmas

I just love how this card turned out. I used my new Ornamental stamp set from Verve stamps. I stamped the ornament in red and the sentiment and top of the ornament in kiwi kiss. The dp is Basic Grey Wassail. The ribbon is the delicious kiwi kiss/vanilla ribbon which I totally love! I highlighted the bottom scallops with my white gel pen. It was a super easy and fast card but in real life it's really pretty!

Foof-a-lah

This is another card that I had made for the Verve stamps anniversary sketch challenge. All the supplies except for the brads is from Foofalah. I used my nestabilities for the circle and scallop circles. The main image is actually a rubon. A very different look for me but I really like how it came out. I think that it helps that the paper is super pretty!

A tall card & a little late candy

Here's the candy for this week. I didn't get a chance to post it until now. It's this very fun "notes" stamp set, it's acrylic so you'll need a block. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post by next Tuesday and I will post the winner on Wednesday! I'm offically back to work full time next week and they haven't hooked up our data ports yet so no Internet! So I might be late posting but don't worry I'll get to it!!! Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!

Hi everyone. Here is another card using a Verve Visual anniversary sketch. The size of the card is roughly 6x3 and fits in SU's small open end envelopes. I used the stamp set Thankful Blossoms by VV and the cardstock is CTMH Goldrush and Barn Red. The ribbon is from a May Arts share I did awhile ago. This is more of that Paper Loft dp I had. The scallops were made with my slit punch. A fun and easy card!

Blurry? Maybe I need a new camera!

I have no idea why this picture is so blurry! Sorry! But I just love how this card came out. It uses the Verve Visual set Thankful Blossoms and the little flower/bug is from Paper Trey Ink. The paper is from Paper Loft. It was part of the Verve Visual sketch challenge. It's very self-explanatory, except for the flowers which I stamped on a coordinating paper, cut out and used foam tape for dimension. Hopefully, I will take a better picture next time!

I am actually in the market for a new camera. I am looking for a basic SLR camera and have been saving up my credit card points to buy one. I know that everyone loves the Canon Rebel but I would love to find something comparable for less. Any suggestions? Does anyone have the Sony SLR camera? I have a cybershot right now and it would be great to be able to use the same memory sticks!

More Verve & Mini Sheetload of Cards Sketch

Here is another card that I made using the mini sheetload of cards August issue. I really like this one a lot! I used scraps from the Tie the Knot SU Simply Scrappin' kit. I just love how it came out!

A very simple card, also for a verve sketch. It uses the stamp set Thankful Blossoms. The paper is from 7 Gypsies and is quite busy so I kept the stamping to a minimum. You can't really tell but it's layered on orange cardstock.

My first ATC and Bind-It-All Info

Well here it is, my very first ATC. I made this card for a Verve Visual challenge. For those who don't know, an ATC is like a mini card, 2.5 x 3.5. Some people collect them, others turn them into full sized cards. For this card, I used the Verve Visual stamp set Starlight, Starbright. The paper is CTMH Blue Ribbon, cranberry and outdoor denim cardstock. The stars were made with the SU small star punch and the ribbon is cranberry CTMH grosgrain ribbon. My nestabilities were used for the oval scallop.

I highly recommend visiting htt://www.zuttersisters.com/Tips.html for information on how to use the Bind-It-All. They have great instructions for using your binding tool and even have some helpful charts on what size wire to use and how to line up your holes and how to be successful when binding your project. I also saw that you can get the spacing bar for just 2.99 which I plan on doing. I hope that this link will help those of you out there looking for tips, it helped me a lot!

Do you have Verve?

Verve Visual is hosting a contest. If you don't know about Verve Visual it's a stamp company started by Julee over at Poetic Artistry. I'm all about supporting independent women in the crafting industry so I had to pick up these stamps and check them out.

I used the OH Girl line of Basic Grey paper and the Fancy Florals stamp set by Verve Visual. The colors are Baby Pink and Petal. This is the first time I've used Petal, I actually had to take the shrinkwrap off of the stamp pad! I used my new nestability scallop dies for the sentiment and the ribbon is old SU organdy. I stamped each piece of the flower separately and then used dimensionals to give depth. It's simple but I like it.
If you haven't noticed already, I love challenges and card contests! They are so fun. There is another one going on at Inique Boutique. If you upload a card using their stamps on Thursday, they'll send you a free stamp. I am so tired today though that I don't think I even have the energy to stamp. Now that's tired.

Where's the winner?

Well I haven't heard from the grand prize winner yet from last week! So if they don't email me by Tuesday night I will be picking another winner and announcing it on Wednesday! I've been really busy re-organizing and cleaning up my stamp corner. I'll try to remember to take pictures so you can see what I mean by corner!

Here's another card using the Fancy Florals set by Verve Visual. I used Buttercup and Indian Corn Blue along with more Sarah paper by SU. I just got a new stamp set and some cool punches from my SU demonstrator so I hope to be able to play with those soon!

Another Criss Cross

I saw this different orientation criss cross card on Cambria's site and decided to make one. The papers are Doodlebug and the stamps are Beautiful Blooms by Paper Trey Ink. I used the colors Holiday Red, Indian Corn Blue and Clover Meadow.

The sentiment is Verve Visual. You know the weather here is nuts. One week it's hotter than hot and then it's actually supposed to rain here today. Rain in Southern California? Unheard of...so leaving for work early, just in case (and to get me a really big non-fat white mocha from Starbucks!) Have a good day everyone!
