2012 Catch-up Post for Anne S

I have been a bad, bad blogger, and haven't been updating any of my ornie stitching so far this year - while I haven't actually done one per month, I have managed 10 ornie finishes so far, so technically up-to-date (albeit by accident not planning).  Here are all the ornies I have completed so far this year:

January Ornie

This is my first ornament finished in 2009. A Mill Hill design worked on perforated paper with thread and lots of beads. It is called 'Down the Chimney' - fun to stitch and quite quick.

One that has been in my stash for ages so a good feeling to know there is one less project waiting in the cupboard

Mill Hill Winter Greetings Series

Although I got rather behind with my Christmas stitching I have managed to finish another Mill Hill Christmas Kit called 'Peace' from their 2008 release. I did not stitch the dove as per the chart but added a dove charm which I prefer

June ornament + others

Following is a quick snap of some Christmas projects I have been working on - beaded baubles - fun way of using up the odd beads which seemed to be increasing in volume.

My Christmas ornament for June is a Mill Hill Treasured Diamond Poinsettia from their 2008 release. I love this range from Mill Hill and have stitched most of their designs which are just a pleasure to stitch. Sorry I don't have a better photo - this was taken in a hurry before I had to delivery the ornament to work for part of our Christmas in July display.

Jeweled Joy by Mill Hill

This is my February ornament just completed but really should go under the January section as it is a 'JOY' ornament. Another Mill Hill kit - stitched on black perforated paper and stitched with DMC floss and Mill Hill beads. Finished size is 3" x 1.25" and kit included a pin back however I have used a small, flat magnetic and will place this above the Mill Hill santas which cover our fridge at Christmas time. I can never pass up a good sale....

I've seen a few people that like doing the Mill Hill beaded ornaments and I noticed there were quite a few kits on sale at Stitches 'N Things. (It looks like most are marked down from $6.50 to $4)

It looks like there's quite a few other patterns on sale as well - lots of Christmas and ornament patterns from several different designers.

I've never purchased from them myself, so I can't attest to their service, but I've seen their store linked from a few different blogs and their website looks pretty good, so I think it's worth checking out.

Mill Hill Santas

This is my first post so I hope I get it correct. Just finished 2 Mill Hill Santas - worked on perforated paper. I have quite a collection of these worked plus I have some kits in my stash and will aim to have them all worked before the end of the year.
The one on the left is Mandolin Santa from the Musical Santas series and on the right is Avignon Santa from the Medieval Santas series. I usually put a small, flat magnet on the back and at Christmas cover the doors of my refrigerator with them.
