Planes, trains and automobiles

It has been ages, well 13 days since I posted - I have been a little busy.

On the 1st I took a train to meet the Parents and we drove to Toronto for a morning flight on the 2nd.

Off we went to Las Vegas (on my very first flight) we arrived there around noon and made our way to our hotel to check in and drop off our bags.

We had concert tickets to see Reba McEntire with Brooks and Dunn at Caesar's Palace.  It was a great concert

Sunday we explored some of the hotels on the strip, and checked out Shark Reef at the Mandalay Hotel.

We also found this store at the Excalibur... dragons, so many dragons and assorted other fantasy items.... I should have taken a bigger suitcase

Mom and I used the bus to travel to Stitcher's Paradise and picked up some new stash.  We sent dad back to the hotel to spare him having to wait while we explored the store.

Mom and I got temporary tattoos Monday night

Tuesday morning we reversed the trip and return home.  I actually stayed an extra day with the Parents before returning home.

I did a little stitching on the plane and in the hotel on My Day Complete

So much stash so little time

I have acquired some new stash in the last couple of months. I actually pre-ordered the Michael Powell book in the spring and it was delivered in September when it was released.

I have picked up a few Canadian themed patterns in the last year or so something that has been lacking in the stash.

Adding to the collection

On the weekend Bonnie hooked me up with this year's special edition Gingher scissors.  I am going to have to find another flower frog soon

The Goodies Part III

This time I didn't road trip to get stash.  It came to my door in a nice padded envelope, along with the fabric I wanted to use for the Owl birth sampler.

Love united (Keslyn's) and Love never fails were on clearance.. and you just never know when there will be a wedding to stitch for.

The little green guy that didn't photo is Green dragon bookmark by Dracolair Creations.  Only reason to get him is that the dragons are feeling outnumbered in the collection... I mean stash....

The Goodies Part I

Over the summer I picked up some additions for the stash collection - the first a little finishing fabric....

and a pair of large scissors that I know are for fabric.  I have a couple other regular orange handled pairs and I always get mixed up which ones are for fabric.  And these ones are blue and white...

Road Trip Stash

In September Dani and I did a road trip to Syracuse New York, and a cross stitch store near there: A Stitcher's Garden http://www.astitchersgarden.com/

I admit to being bad and not having any sort of list or idea what I was looking for. I did pick up a piece of linen that should be good for the Just Nan limited edition ornaments, which I have but not have stitched yet.

Yes, I said linen, which I don't like but will try.

A Day Out

Yesterday was the Knowledge and Needles annual stitching day.

Stitchers from near and far gather for food, chatting, laughter, stitching and some shopping.

I took some pictures of the wonderful stitching on display:

And I picked up a little stash

Thanks Ann for hosting a lovely day

The Kitchen Sink

I've been meaning to do a couple posts in the last week or so but got side-tracked with finishing Cirque.

Hopefully this won't be too boring.  Oh, who am I kidding it will be!

There was no TUSAL post in July.  Why you may ask?  Funny story:

Picture it:

Stitching chair, chair-side table, ORT glass, open bottle of diet coke.....

If you're thinking to yourself Christin dumped the bottle of coke all over the place, you'd be right!

All over the table, on the carpet, in the WIP basket.... it was a mess!

Out of this disaster is the good news that the only causalities were some working copies and the July ORTS.  Given the fact the basket is full of projects, I'll take it.

I have moved the basket to the other side of the chair away from the line of fire.

At the end of July I went to see the parents and attended our yearly family reunion.  While I was there I needed some cord to finish the owls and popped into Fabricland.  Of course I couldn't just get little cord:

Also a couple weeks ago, Dani and I were at the local mall poking into stores for no reason when Dani spotted this:

The scissor frog I got a couple years ago fits!  Who needs an ice cream bowl when they can have scissors?

This past weekend was my birthday.  Here is my baby photo from 40 years ago:

My friend tells me I look like I was plotting....  dad agrees

I have a little stitching to share.  I got out Fortunate traveler and worked on the leaves a bit.  Still way behind on this.

I have managed to gather a little bit of stash this month.

Some Bonnie picked for me, and I picked up a few things at Knowledge and Needles when I was in Brighton for retreat.

Scissor Run

On our way home from Retreat on the weekend Dani, Tracey and I did a "short" detour to the United States to stop at Joann's.

This detour added a few hours to our trip but we were able to pick up the limited edition Ginghers.

I know - I got a new pair in September. But that's ok.

Here they are:

and here is the collection:

I Wish I May

In an effort to better organize myself I decided that the Blog needed a wish list page.

There's now a new page that I've listed the charts I'm drooling thinking about for the stash and a few odds and ends.  Well let's face it - it's the start of a wish list.

Hopefully now I'll remember where the list is and I can keep track better.

Let the shopping begin!

Stash and Stitch

Another catch-up post....

The 5th of October Dani, Tracey and I once again piled into the car for another road trip.

This time we were off to the Cataraqui Guild of Needle Arts Needle Arts Fair, where we did a little shopping....

then headed off to Rebecca's for a lovely afternoon of visiting and stitching.  Her HD was kind enough to cook us a garbage can turkey .... and I ate too much.  Thanks Rebecca and Curt!

I was good and only picked up a couple things for the stash.

Ann has the new DMC colours so I picked those up as well as the Just Cross Stitch 2013 Christmas Issue.

There was also a booth of Celtic cross stitch things and I picked up two charts there.

Goodies From A Road Trip

As part of the catch-up posts.... adventures at the end of September....

At the end of September Dani, Tracey and I went to the States and did a little shopping at Joanne's.

There was some cute Halloween fabric

and some fall fabric

and this cute scissor fabric

I also found this Owl pin cushion.... on sale.  I thought she would make a nice decorative edition to the stash zone.
