Clearly Besotted Challenge #5

Happy weekend!  We've had family in town all week, but I managed to sneak into my craft room for some stamping time.  I wanted to play along with the Clearly Besotted Challenge, which has a gorgeous autumn color palette this month.

Source:  Design Seeds
My card doesn't exactly have an autumn theme, but I loved these colors and thought they would work beautifully for a fall wedding card.  I was fortunate enough to receive the Blooming Marvellous stamp set for a DT assignment, but I hadn't had a chance to use the rose image yet.  I stamped it in shades of yellow and peach along the edge of an ivory panel.

The sentiment is also from Blooming Marvellous, and I added the little row of x's from Basic Banners.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream, Smokey Shadow)
Stamps:  Clearly Besotted (Blooming Marvellous, Basic Banners)
Ink:  Hero Arts (Fresh Peach, Soft Cantaloupe), Stampin' Up! (So Saffron, Basic Gray)
Other:  pearls, thread

We're off to enjoy the beautiful weather today.  I hope you have some fun and/or relaxing plans for your weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

WPlus9 February/March Release Day 3

Hello friends!  The fun continues with Day 3 of the WPlus9 release previews!  I can't tell you how much fun it has been working with the new stamps and dies, and today's cards are my favorites so far.  :)

Today we are previewing one more stamp set and its coordinating die:

Written on Ribbon
Written on Ribbon companion die

Written on Ribbon has a beautiful folded banner image and tons of sentiments for weddings, birthdays, and more.  For my first sample, I made a gate-fold card with the die cut banner right in the center.

I just can't get enough of this new white ink, so I used it to stamp images from Embroidered Bouquet onto dark gray cardstock.  Love!

The banner and gems look orange, but they are SU's Calypso Coral.  I'm a bit smitten with this gray and coral color combo at the moment.

Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! (Basic Gray, Calypso Coral), WPlus9 Design Studio (White)
Stamps:  WPlus9 Design Studio (Embroidered Bouquet, Written on Ribbon)
Ink:  WPlus9 Design Studio (White), Stampin' Up! (Calypso Coral, Basic Gray), Copic marker
Tools:  WPlus9 Design Studio (Written on Ribbon die), We R Memory Keepers (Corner Chomper)
Accessories:  Michaels (rhinestones)

For my second card, I wanted to use the small sentiments from Written on Ribbon in a different way, so I lined up several wedding-themed phrases on a block and stamped them down the edge of a white card base.

I stamped and die cut images from Lacey Layers and adhered them to a lavender panel, which is popped up with foam tape.  I chose a focal sentiment from Heartfelt Mix, stamping "congratulations" on a white banner and "to the happy couple" below it.

Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! (Wisteria Wonder), WPlus9 Design Studio (White)
Stamps:  WPlus9 Design Studio (Written on Ribbon, Lacey Layers, Heartfelt Mix)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Wisteria Wonder, Basic Gray)
Tools:  WPlus9 Design Studio (Lacey Layers dies)
Accessories:  Michaels (silver pearls)

Once again, you won't want to miss the creations from the WPlus9 Design Team:

WPlus9 February/March Release Week Day 1

Hello there, friends!  I'm so very excited to be bringing you a special post today--I'm Guest Designing with WPlus9 for their February/March release!  Today's the first day of previews, and let me tell you, you are going to be smitten with all of the new stamps and dies coming out this month.

Today we're featuring two new stamp sets and their companion dies:

Very Vintage Florals
Very Vintage Florals Companion Dies
Chantilly Trim
Scalloped Border Die

I've managed to use all four on my first card.  :)

Very Vintage Florals coordinates with the previously released Very Vintage Greetings and its companion die, Label Layers 3.  I used the die to cut a window in a kraft panel, then stamped the frame and sentiment from Very Vintage Florals onto the white card base.

I die cut and stamped the floral images in green, then stamped the flowers again in red and trimmed them by hand.

The new Chantilly Trim set has the most gorgeous lace borders, which coordinate perfectly with the new Scalloped Border die.  I added a scalloped edge to the kraft panel and stamped one of the lace borders along the bottom.

Cardstock:  WPlus9 Design Studio (White), Papertrey Ink (Kraft)
Stamps:  WPlus9 Design Studio (Very Vintage Florals, Chantilly Trim)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Real Red, Lucky Limeade), Memento (Tuxedo Black)
Tools:  WPlus9 Design Studio (Very Vintage Florals dies, Scalloped Border die, Label Layers 3 die)

For my second card, I wanted to do something completely different.  The Chantilly Trim borders made me think of beautifully decorated wedding cakes, so I set about creating one of my own.

After trimming the cake layers from cardstock, I stamped a lace border along the top edges, adhered the layers with foam tape, and embellished them with black gems.

I turned to Very Vintage Greetings for my sentiment, adding a hand-trimmed flag and black gem to draw the eye.

Cardstock:  WPlus9 Design Studio (White, Black), Papertrey Ink (Melon Berry)
Stamps:  WPlus9 Design Studio (Chantilly Trim, Very Vintage Greetings)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Calypso Coral), Memento (Tuxedo Black)
Accessories:  Bazzill (black rhinestones)

I've had so much fun playing with these sets, it was hard to choose just a couple of cards to share with you today!  Needless to say, there will be more to come.  :)

Be sure to see what the WPlus9 Design Team has created!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow for Day 2 of the release week festivities!

Card Patterns sketch #165

Hi friends!  I meant to post this sooner, but we spent the day in Maine enjoying the gorgeous weather and taking my MIL to lunch for Mother's Day.  Tomorrow we'll be hard at work in the garden, my favorite Mother's Day activity.  :)  I hope you're having a great weekend, too!

This week's Card Patterns sketch is so pretty and versatile, it will definitely be going in a file for future use.

I've had an idea in my mind for a while to do an all-white wedding card with clear embossing, so I finally tackled it.  I love how it turned out, and the effect is even prettier in person.

I first stamped the word "love" from Waltzingmouse's Say it Loud and heat embossed it in silver.  Then I stamped the flower and leaves from PTI's Delightful Dahlia and heat embossed them with clear powder (I embossed the flower first, then masked it before stamping the leaves).

Behind the main panel I stitched two white cardstock panels, the top one debossed with music score and the bottom one debossed with a diamond pattern.

To embellish, I added a ruffled satin ribbon and bow across the top, a tiny tag stamped with the sentiment "wedding wishes", and some silver pearls.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (White)
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Delightful Dahlia, Tiny Tags II), Waltzingmouse (Say it Loud)
Ink:  Versamark, Clearsnap (Antique Pewter)
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (sheet music & diamonds impression plates, tag die), We R Memory Keepers (Corner Chomper)
Accessories:  A.C. Moore (ribbon), Michaels (silver pearls), Jo-Ann (silver embossing powder), Stampendous (clear embossing powder), thread

Please stop by to see what the rest of the Card Patterns designers cooked up this week!  We can't wait to see your take on the sketch.

Thanks for your visit!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
