Happy Spring...what I'm up to...

Hello friends, long time to see.  Life has been busy.  

So happy it's Spring.  I am feeling excited and inspired to get creating.  Here is a little peek at what I am up to these days...

Shed Sweet Shed Boutique...May 2016 recap...

The Shed Sweet Shed Spring Boutique has come and gone...

It is always a whirlwind of preparations and excitement.  

It was an amazing weekend.  The weather was not 100% cooperative...but we made the best of it.  My friends, family and customers were "troopers" and we survived rain, wind and un-seasonally cold temps here in Minnesota.

 We are all set up and ready to as the guest vendors for the March Market at 3:17 Vintage in Afton, MN.

And last but not least, I had to share this amazing re-purposed yoke light fixture that is the main room with us.  Whoa, right?

Repurposed Candle Holder Angel...

This sweet angel started out as a milk glass candle holder.

Chippy architectural salvaged wings.

A rusty halo...

 ...and a bit of sparkle.

I think this little creation will make her first "appearance" at the March Market at 3:17 Vintage.  Signs of the Times and I will be sharing the "guest vendor" spot.

Spring Mantel 2015...layers of sweet little junky details...

 

 The weather feels so wonderful and spring-like here in Minnesota.

Embellished Thrift Store Art...thinking SPRING :)

I've seen some fun embellished art pieces online and in shops.  So when I found these three hand painted canvas paintings at the thrift store...I decided it would be fun to play a bit...

A Few Project "Peeks"...what I've been up to here...

Do you ever feel like you can't quite finish anything?

That's how I am feeling here...

I've started on my "Spring" sorting and cleaning...

 The mantel is almost done...

Spring Mantel...begging for some SUN shine...

More snow in Minnesota...and we are getting desperate for a little sunshine!!  How about you?

I decided to have a little fun with my Spring mantel...

The Spring Tree...my version...

I've seen so many cute version of the spring tree...that I hesitated to show you mine.  But since I'm on a tree "kick", I decided...why not?

Pretty basic...a pot flipped upside down with a spring on top.

I started with just a star and a tag.

Then I added a few ornaments for fun.

Or maybe without the tag...whatever makes you happy.

My kids like them with the ornaments...

...but I think I like them plain.

"Practicing Patience"...a simple Spring Centerpiece...

My littlest charmer and I have been waiting patiently for the lilacs to bloom at our house...

Nesting...inside...

We're still waiting for Spring here in MN...

"Nesting" at the Shop...planter basket "birdcage"...

Hello friends...sorry I haven't been around much these last few weeks.  We were actually in Florida over Spring break...and now I am still playing "catch up" here.

I haven't had much "project time" here...but we did do a little "nesting" in the window and our booth at Antiques Downtown before I left.  Here's something I haven't shared yet...

 

I had a couple of these planter baskets...

...put them together and what do you get??

Looks like a birdcage to me :)

I just tied them together with twine and added some ribbon and a vintage pin...

...and clipped on some paper pretties inside...

...and out.

Here it is in the window at the shop.

Thinking Spring.

I made these hanging planters into nests too....single...

...and double.

Of course there are other "nests" tucked in here and there too.

Who could resit that face?

And yes, we're still waiting for Spring here in MN...in fact there is snow in the forecast today :(

Joan and I are heading back to the shop today...the shop is having a sale this Friday through Sunday (April 12-14) so we're going to "pretty it up" a little.  I'll take some more photos of our booth when were done and post them on Facebook tonight.  So hop on over and like Chipping with Charm if you are interested...
