Hace algunas semanas fui a una fiesta de cumpleaños a casa de unos amigos. Habían tirado
confeti en forma de letras y el suelo estaba cubierto de unas pequeñas letras de colores llamativos que formaban una alfombra multicolor. Entonces pensé '¿Qué podría hacer yo con esas pequeñas letras?' Y de repente se me ocurrieron un montón de ideas: tarjetas de felicitación de cumpleaños, letreros para ordenar cajas, decorar tarros de vidrio,... Así que recogí el
confeti del suelo en una bolsa y me lo llevé a casa...
A few weeks ago I went to a birthday party at a friend's place. The floor of the house was covered with confetti of very tiny letters in bright colours; it looked like a bright colorful carpet. So I thought 'What could I do with all of these little letters?', and a thousand ideas came to my mind inmediately: birthday cards, labels to organise boxes, glass jar decoration,... So I collected the confetti from the floor, put it in a bag and took them home with me...
Finalmente, el fin de semana pasado decidí hacer un diseño con todo ese
confeti, y lo he llamado
'Sopa de letras'. ¡Es
facilísimo, tú también puedes intentarlo! Para ello se necesitan los materiales siguientes:
- Cartón pluma (tic)
- Una bolsita de confeti de letras (tic)
- Una regla (tic)
- Un lápiz de dibujo y goma de borrar (tic)
- Pegamento o cola (tic)
Eventually, last weekend I decided to make a design with all of that confetti, and I have called it 'Crossword'. It's really easy, you can also try to do it yourself! To make it you will need: - Foam core board (check)
- Letter confetti (check)
- Rulers (check)
- Pencils and erasers (check)
- Glue (check)
PASOS:- Cortar el cartón-pluma en el formato y medidas deseados. Yo lo hice bastante grande y de formato cuadrado.
- Dibujar márgenes alrededor del cartón-pluma (aprox. 5-6 cms. dependiendo del tamaño total del lienzo) y dibujar una rejilla de 2x2 cms. cada celda.
- Pegar cada letra alineada a la parte inferior-izquierda de cada celda de la rejilla procurando que ni la letra ni el color coincidan con los de arriba, abajo, a la izquierda y a la derecha.
- Una vez completado todo el lienzo con letras, y cuando el pegamento esté bien seco borrar la rejilla dibujada en el paso 2.
INSTRUCTIONS:- Cut the foam core board in the size and format that you like. I chose a big size and squared format.
- Draw margins around the foam core board (about 5-6 cms., it'll depend on the total size of your canvas) and draw a grid of 2x2 cms. each cell.
- Glue every letter aligned with the button and left sides of its cell, and try not to use the same letter or color on top, button, left and right.
- Once your canvas has been completed with a letter in each cell, and the glue is dry, erase the grid that you drew in the 2nd step.
Y voilá!!! Así quedó!And voilá!!! That's it!
Me encantan todas esas pequeñas formas coloridas y brillantes; son
super alegres y divertidas! Además no le puse cristal para que puedas tocar las texturas de las pequeñas letras. La gente cuando llega a casa busca palabras dentro de la composición e intenta resolver la sopa de letras.
I love those little colorful and bright shapes; I didn't put any glass on the canvas so that you can also touch the textures of the little letters. When people come home and see the design try to find word within the composition and try to resolve the crossword!
