Stampin' Chez Moi

I'm so excited to play along with two challenges today ~ I've never played with the sketches over at Retro Sketch and I just LOVE these sketches and then found this colour challenge over at Stamping 411 ...come join in the fun and get creating!!!! You'll have a blast, I promise! What a fun day I've had ~ sat on my riding mower, cut the grass (takes about 2 hours) ~  I find it really relaxing for me, time to ponder, pray for those I love and sometimes I catch myself singing my heart out...my poor neighbours! Then I went for a dip in the pool, relaxed with a nice tall ice water and began to knit by the pool ~ sunny and hot and yes, I was under my beach umbrella ~ Dean is away on a fishing trip and so the house is extra quiet, the kids all had plans, so I was alone all day and was it ever quiet and relaxing...almost too quiet, almost!!! I strolled into the house around 8pm and headed to my studio to create a birthday card for a dear friend of ours ~ and yes ~ another...

Oh what a fun day...got our home tidied...did some knitting (see my Knitting For Sale page)...and had a wonderful play time in my studio....I guess I have more tidying to do now! But I'm SO excited to share my creation with you ~ but it first started with the challenge at Our Creative Corner ...which was ...   Music can be such a motivating thing in life, why not in your papercrafting too? Take inspiration from a song and work it into any papercraft project you'd like - a card, a gift tag or some other paper craft project. Be inspired by the lyrics or the feeling you get by listening along. Just make sure your post includes the song title (and if possible the artist) that inspired you!   And I knew the exact song...and I found myself singing it the whole time I was creating ~ what a peaceful was to create! What a beautiful evening we shared with dear friends yesterday. We've been getting together for New Years Eve for 15 years or so (as well as throughout the year). We are so blessed!!! First we sat down for dinner, then had a rousing game of Canasta...and Judi & I kicked some serious butt last night...it's been awhile since it's been our turn to win, so it was pretty sweet to say the least! We then all decided that we just wanted to sit and visit and Judi & I pulled out our knitting needles...talk about a relaxing evening, it was fabulous!  Judi & I have always exchanged gifts, but decided that we both have everything we need/want and so opted to nix the gift portion of our time....but I still HAD to make a card and what fun I had creating this just before they popped in for the evening. Well girls, it's been fun being a part of the Stamping 411 team for the month of July ~ thank you once again for the honor! Now onto this fabulous sketch....you really need to join in the fun! What a fun card sketch to create with ~ I've enjoyed my time so much playing along with this ~ do join in the fun! Here is my card ~ I really don't enjoy creating sympathy cards when they are needed. I find it too difficult, so I always like to have some on hand ~ now I actually don't have any except for this new one that I created to go along with this sketch. I really need to create a few more ~ I guess that just doesn't sound so great ~ I need to take a photography class ~ sorry about the shots! BAD!!!!! Our garden of vegetables and flowers are singing a symphony of song!!! I was captured by the beauty of my flower garden as I strolled the yard this morning ~ it literally stopped me in my tracks ~ then I heard Dean say 'what are you thinking about honey?' ~ oh, nothing, just gazing at our flowers!!! We both stood there for awhile and just admired the handy work of the Lord! Oh how I wish my picture would do justice to this ~ in real life ~ it is absolutely stunning!! and now on to the sketch challenge from the gals at Stamping 411 ~ and I had so much fun incorporating  a flower into my card. I really enjoy creating masculine cards!
