Stampin' Chez Moi

Oh what a fun day...got our home tidied...did some knitting (see my Knitting For Sale page)...and had a wonderful play time in my studio....I guess I have more tidying to do now! But I'm SO excited to share my creation with you ~ but it first started with the challenge at Our Creative Corner ...which was ...   Music can be such a motivating thing in life, why not in your papercrafting too? Take inspiration from a song and work it into any papercraft project you'd like - a card, a gift tag or some other paper craft project. Be inspired by the lyrics or the feeling you get by listening along. Just make sure your post includes the song title (and if possible the artist) that inspired you!   And I knew the exact song...and I found myself singing it the whole time I was creating ~ what a peaceful was to create! I also found two fabulous challenges at the Stamping 411 blog...the sketch 245 is found here ~ and the colour challenge 168  is here ~ I love these challenges... ...

I can't believe that I'm posting tonight! I've got a Techniques class on Monday night, nothing was ready for this, painting is still being done ~ but I needed to create something and pronto ~ so I took little breaks along the way as the inspiration came ~ This is the emboss resist technique and I just love the outcome of my card. I found it really hard to take a picture that actually did the card justice, but alas...it wasn't to be! Another bonus was bestowed upon me as I came across this new weekly challenge blog called A La Card Monkey . The challenge this week was Nature ~ how wonderful ~  I know this is shocking ~ out came the sponges and I sponged, sponged & sponged ~ ran upstairs and did more painting, painting, painting...and so this is how my week went ~ here's my creation ~  I sure hope you enjoyed your time with me ~ if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask ~ I hope you have a wonderful day ~ Thanks for stopping by If you ...

I had SO much fun with this challenge and I can't wait to teach wax paper resist to my girls. Sorry girls, you'll have to wait a few weeks! The UDI  Color Challenge #24 was just perfect for what I had in mind, and when I found this sketch at  Sweet Sunday Sketch  #106, the inspiration began to flow.   This took a bit of work ~ first I had all my elements ready to go, but didn't put it together until I had shuffled, moved, shuffled again....there....I think I like that! Then it started to come together ~ ~ So here's my card ~ A little side shot ~ my colors are way off on this shot ~ Not too sure about my Seam Binding, I tried to pull my centre thread (as per instructions), but obviously was doing something wrong, it just didn't happen for me (any suggestions out there would be greatly appreciated) ~ so instead, I very carefully placed Sticky Strip to the back as I manipulated the binding into shape! If you have never tried the 'wax paper resist'...

Sketch Challenge #179 from Stamping 411 is absolutely fabulous ~ you should really play along with the designers! I had a blast this afternoon ~ I really needed a break from Christmas Cards, so I rolled up my sleeves, got the music going.....and got to work! I used Dimensionals to pop each of the panels on my card and heat embossed each with a copper EP, it's really difficult to see the effect, but IRL it's quite stunning! On the inside I stamped tone on tone, using Elements of Style and then stamped my Sentiment over it using Close To Cocoa. I received a beautiful card in the mail this week and LeAnne had done this on the inside of my card, wow, what a beautiful effect....so....note to self.....remember this and do it!
