Happy Bright Birthday along with A Friday Mash Up!

Image
I found this fabulous challenge at the Friday Mash Up #65....and I was definitely feeling punchy as well,    so this was just too perfect and I had to join in the fun! I really tried to challenge myself as well, by using Bright colours, this is definitely out of my comfort zone and I'm still not to sure how I feel about my card ~  I began by looking in my stash of paper...do I ever have paper....almost embarrassing already! So I looked in my discontinued files after looking at our old SU colour wheel. I knew I wanted to start with Gable Green as my main colour! and so the wheel said...Pixie Pink & Apricot Appeal...and I'm going to create using these colours....are you kidding!!! Out came my punches for the flowers, Beautiful Wings Embosslits and got to work ~ or should I say play ~ I really enjoy my time in my studio and it really has been lacking lately ~ it has been super hot and humid lately and even though we have a beautiful pool to enjoy, one can only repose ...

Color Throwdown & Paper Players

Image
Dean & I had an evening to relax (after he buzzed in the city to show is parents how to use the remote control once again)...wow...what a week...and what a fun evening to sit, chat, create a card for a dear friend and watch Dean flip from American Pickers, Super Bowl...and whatever else he chose! and I played and shuffled paper around, shuffled a little more...but it did come together! Oh what fun to play...and I get to do this again tonight, the girls are coming over and we are working on whatever we choose, nothing to teach, just sharing my toys and lovin' it! I followed two challenges as I was creating my card ~ CTD #117 was fabulous and I couldn't wait to play and this absolutely perfect sketch was from the Paper Players...and as I was putting my post together, I realized that I was toooooooo late to submit to the PP#80 ~ oh well, I still had a blast :-) Thanks girls for this wonderful challenges that you throw our way! I love joining in the fun  here is my dear fri...

First Class of the Year!

Image
Welcome back, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I'd like to wish you all the best in the New Year! I will be hosting my first class of the year on Monday the 9th and I sure hope I'm feeling better by then. I have been sick for over a month now and I can't seem to shake it! I spoke at a ladies Bible Study and then taught a simple Christmas card on the 22nd of November, by that evening I had  laryngitis and it's been one thing after another since then...the hardest part is... I'm never under the weather. I just don't seem to catch whatever it is that's going around...guess I can't say that anymore! I did still mange to have some play time (albeit not enough)...so in between sniffles, tissue, naps...yikes!!! are you sick of me yet!!!! Well, I did get a card created and now all I have to do is cut my kits, and tidy my house...well, cut my kits for sure! So here is my card ~  And a quick shot of the inside  I thought I'd also give you the d...

Color Throwdown

Image
A couple of my friends came over a few evenings ago and we stamped & created until we were cross eyed! We had so much fun, helping and encouraging each other along the way! I love my friends and spending time with them is the best. The card I created for this challenge was a CASE from my girlfriend Darlene. She is SO incredibly creative ~ oh to create as she does! We were asked to go a step further with the Color Throwdown  this week.  Be sure to read about it and help bless  a fellow Stamping Sister who is very sick.   Katie Renz   lives in Washington state, is a wife and mother of three and was diagnosed just before Christmas with stage 4 gastric cancer. The members of the Throwdown team felt the need to rally around Katie and show her our support. I knew I had to join in and bless Katie. I'm praying for you my dear.  Thanks so much for stopping by today ~ have a wonderful day ~ ~ hug those you love ~ and tell them so ~ Blessings to you ~ Deni...
