Sweet Plum Polar Bear!

Hi there!  I've used my day after Thanksgiving to get some crafting done! I'm not a big fan of heading out to shop for Black Friday! I wish I could say that I decorated for the next holiday, but that didn't happen! I did household chores and I did get the few autumn decorations that were out put away, so I'm ready to decorate. But then, I colored!!
This terrific Polar Bear image is from Whipper Snapper designs! He is so fun to color! His name is BearGeorge and you can find him HERE!
He's holding a hot cup from a little set made by Papertrey Ink (and it has a die, too!!) You can find the $5.00 set HERE!
The die is 3.00!
I colored Bear George with copic markers trying to match SUs colors Sweet Sugarplum and Rick Razzleberry.  They look sooooo GREAT together! I used SUs cable knit embossing folder again! CAn't get enough of it-It may show up on every winter card I make! The snowflakes and snowhills are from My Favorite Things. Lots of sponging and Stardust Stickles for sparkle, too!

I'm still struggling with photos, editing and this darn computer, but trying to learn to make it a smooth process! I hope some of these photos show this card's colors, dimension and sparkle. I'm pretty happy with it!
Have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy and be grateful!

Just paper...again!

Hello! There's not much stamping here, just the leaves from Papertrey Ink's Turning a new leaf. Everything else is punches and dies and PAPER! I used the flower dies from Papertrey ink as well to make the sunflowers. I made these awhile back when I was working on some OTHER CARDS. I bunched these three into this feature piece mounted on the Nestability shape until I could figure out the card to put it on. the other day I was working on another card and thought hmmmm... laid it on the October Afternoon gingham and liked it!

Now, speaking of paper, please remember we'd love to have you join in on our August challenge from Diana herself to create a MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS Magnolia card using just paper!

Details are right HERE!

So, thanks for coming by today! I'm off to exercise (Yuck!) and then home to create something else (yeah!), and then a birthday lunch with friends. Gonna be a good day! Hope yours is too!

Gracious Vases-round two

Hello and happy Monday! We are fully back from vacation, unpacked and laundry is done! Dave is back at work and I need to get going on house cleaning again. How I wish I was one of those people who love to clean! They are my heroes! Here are the other three cards I made using Papertrey Ink's Gracious Vases and Debbie Olsen as my inspiration. I love how all of the cards came out and only have a couple left! (Hence, the poor photos-can't retake!)

Here is the link to my previous post . It also has the link to Debbie's colors:

Gracious Vases Part I

this last one is my favorite-I love working with multiple buttons!

Thanks for stopping by today! And now to work!

Hugs and wishes for a spectacular Monday for YOU!

Gracious Vases Part I

Hello! I have threee Papertrey Ink cards to show you today. They were 100% inspired by one of the PTI designers whose blogs I stalk! Debbie Olson. Here is THE LINK to her card.

Here is the link to the stamp set GRACIOUS VASES.

While I had the stamps arranged on my blocks I stamped and then colored six of these so I could make a set of cards to have on hand. So, there I will have three more to show you soon. I've saved my favorite for last!

Thanks so much for visiting! Things you may want to look into:

I Brake for Stamps will be posting a new challenge tomorrow (Wednesday, July 13)

You still have today to comment on Jacque's Magnolia-lcious Sunday Sensations for a prize.

Tilda with small gift and a friend!

Hello! Planned on posting this morning, but time got completely away from me! So here I am this evening after another gorgeous WNY day! I've been trying to use some of my Papertrey Ink stamps lately and I thought I could make these three flowers work with my mini favs! Our friend TILDA and her friend, HUGO. They are, of course, from the Magnolia-licious store owned and managed by the wonderful Diana and her family! This is #293 TILDA WITH A SMALL GIFT AND #411 HUGO THE SNAIL. Both are from recent and irresistible mini collections available in the store! The flowers are from Papertrey Ink and are from Flower Fusion #4. I stamped them in ink and then added some shading with my copics. Tilda and Hugo are cut out and placed in the scene. They were curved a bit and put on a dimensional piece and then the edges are glued down to the background paper with quick dry glue. Stickles in Stardust are added to Hugo and to the flower centers. I'm sorry, but I did not keep markers separate to jot down as I colored this time. I know they are BGs and YRs, but I'm sure you had that figured out already!

And, here is another card with Flower Fusion 4. This time the centers are colored black, and then I added black stickles. Very striking IRL, but I could not get the centers to show their glitter very well.

Thanks for visiting tonight! Have a wonderful night and weekend! I'm headed out to the deck with my coffee to read for awhile!

The Sky is the Limit!

Hello friends! I have several graduation cards to finish and this is the first. I used Papertrey Ink's set Up, up and away to say to some great graduates that they can achieve their dreams! We were at a graduation party for a lovely neighborhood girl last night. The variety of guests was a reminder that it really does 'take a village'. At such a young age her life has touched so many others! For her, the sky really is the limit and we wish her well. Funny thing, it doesn't seem all that long ago that I was finishing highschool and headed off the college! However, it was quite a long time ago-36 years to be exact!! Wow!
I wouldn't trade where I am now to be 17 again, would you? It sure was an exciting time though!
Anyway, you didn't come to hear (read) my babblings! I used a nestability shape in Bashful Blue to "frame" my sky scene. The clouds were cut with a PTI die and then stamped with soft sky. Then the edges were sponged with Baja Breeze. My balloons were also cut with PTI dies and then stamped and colored with copics in the following colors:
R08, R17 and R29
YG01, 13 and 07
Y04 and Yo8
B02, 04, ans 06
E30 and E35
stickles were added to areas of the balloons.
Instead of a ribbon I used my Scor-buddy to score 3 lines across the striped paper from MME
and also stitched that layer.

It's raining yet again despite the forecasts for today's weater! Hope the sun is shining on you!!

Enjoy the ride!

Hi! Wow, let me first say thanks for visiting! I'm over the moon that I gained 5 new followers the other day! I appreciate all of you!! I know I'm not able to post as often as some others out in blogland so I am very grateful that you want to know what's new here. Thank you from my heart!
Thank you for all the comments and interest in my Magnolia black and white with a pop cards (last post). I will get Katie's video tutorial linked up AND I will see what I can do about showing the flowers. The sunflower was the 'brainchild' of my good friend Michelle or mitchygitchygoomy on splitcoast. Yep, I even know her in person! Lucky me! Here is the LINK to Michelle's card where she gives some directions. I used a Papertrey Ink die for smaller flowers.

I made this card for my nephew-in-law this week Using Papertrey Ink products the masculine card came together pretty quickly.

No ribbons or buttons, but I needed to have DIMENSION!

Thanks again for coming by!

Hugs, and have a great day!

More orange and aqua!

I told you I was addicted to these colors! Actually, I haven't had time to do new work this weekend. I made this when I was working on the other recent posts and thought I'd show it today!
My nephew was married to his bride last night in a beautiful ceremony followed by a nice reception! They are soooo happy! (That's why no time!) Oh, and gardening!
Anyway I used some of the scraps of background paper that I had left over and Papertrey Inks' Flower fusion small set . I think this is number 4. The sentiment is from another PTI set.

I'm working on those other two mini Maggies as well as something with some of the new full size collection called Sweet Rainbow AND did you see that Diana has the new collection in the store in mini form already?! They are in stock and ready to go! I have some on the way to my house!
We would love to have you join in the June challenge on the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog-to use only a mini or minis on your card or project! Prize being given!!
Well, it's back to work so I can show you another card soon!
Thanks for coming by! I hope YOU are having a great weekend!

For you,,,,quickly!

Hi! I wanted to post today so I thought I'd show you another card with the Papertrey Ink set I just got. Don't you love aqua and black? Me too! The card is pretty self explanatory, but not there is some shading on the flowers. I stamped them in Cool Caribbean, but then shaded them with a slightly deeper shade copic marker. I like the effect! I have another card with this technique, but tomorrow I plan to post my June Magnolia'licious June Challenge CARDS! Yep, more than one!
Janiel has given us the challenge to use only minis and if you check out today's (June 1) post on the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog you will see some beautiful works of art!!

The colors of my card today are a bit of a hint to what I'm working on for my Magnolia-licious cards, but we sure want to see what you come up with! Please check it out and join us in Mini Mag fun!

Have a great day!

A Great Pear and FINALLY a winner!

Hello and TGIF! I love when it is finally Friday! Things are a little hectic at school right now with so much to do and no one knowing what their job is next year! We had so many cuts in our 2 elementary schools so I am very grateful to have a job, and it's a good job, but.....

Anyway, that's not why you came! First, I will finally announce my winner from the wedding post (blog hop) a few posts down. Random.org chose comment #28, which is Tammy.

Congratulations, Tammy! Will you please contact me at drowly6@stny.rr.com and I will happily get your 3 magnolias out to you!

My card today is made with Papertrey Ink products. Next to my beloved Magnolias and Whipper Snappers comes PTI! I got 'a few' of the sets and dies from the release on May 15 and I had an anniversary card to make. This one was inspired by one that Dawn McVey made for the release. I used Apricot Appeal and Peach parfait for my oranges and PTI's burgundy color for what looks like purple.

If there's anything you're wondering about, please ask. I loved making this one!

Wishing you a great day, great weekend and a big American thank you to all those who made the supreme sacrifice for our great country as we remember them on Memorial Day.

Hugs, Cheryl

Projects from our Springfest 2011

Hello! I want to show you two of the projects I swapped with other stampers at our 4th Annual Springfest last weekend! First up is my 3D swap. I made twelve of these little boxes-like a small crayon box. It's a free template over at My time Made Easy! The tag is from Papertrey and the stamp is from Whipper Snapper! If you have any questions about them, just ask!

Then, this is what I made (30 of them) for the tag/bookmark exchange which was new this year and what a fun swap.

I received some beautiful things from both m y swaps! Talented, talented ladies!

Thanks for stopping by! Should have my Magnolia-licious card done for tomorrow. Suzanne gave us a great sketch to work with and I can't wait to get my papers and image on it!

Have a great day! Cheryl

Simple but effective~I hope!

Hello! Hope your weekend is going nicely!
I know your probably came to see what I've colored, but sometimes a girl just has to make a few simple cards to have on hand or so she's not late with birthday wishes! Here are two I've made recently. This one uses an SU background plaid stamp that I have always loved. The flower is a Spellbinders nestability. The embossed background is a Sizzix folder (sorry, I don't know the name) More details below!

I cased Dawn McVey, one of Papertrey Inks designers. The flower center is a freebie (with 11 other circle images) for their recent anniversary celebration. It took some looking to find it so I want to link it up HERE for you if you are interested. Scroll down the post until you see Free download.
I used a white card base, some PTI Hawaiin Shores and SU dotted paper from the Regals collection. The script stamp for the blue is an old one from SU. Wonderful ribbon from S"U finished off the flower.
Thanks for coming by today-I hope you aren't too disappointed-I really love all kinds of 'stamping' and papercrafting. Hope you do too!
Hugs, Cheryl

Mums, Doilies....

and a few weekend pics!
Hello, friends! I thought I would post earlier today, but you know how that can go! Here is one of a set of 4 cards that I made for my friend, Alice. It is a VERY late birthday gift! She is our Art Teacher at school and gave me some of the most elegant doilies I have ever seen! I used a Papertrey Ink set from last year and Bo Bunny paper with Papertrey Linen card stock and Brilliant blue (no one's favorite color from the past!) The cards are all different so I will be showing you the others during the week (I hope!)

It was so nice here Saturday am that Dave and I decided to head out on a day trip! We went to the North this time, all the way to Lake Ontario~ there is a haunted winery there called Marjim Manor, formerly Appleton Hall (which I think sounds spookier!) They have mostly fruit wines, but it is worth the trip to do a little tasting and listen to the ghost stories!
We walked out behind the Manor through the alley of trees~this is the view as we returned! (I posted my pics backwards!)

This is the Manor House from behind, the alley of trees is to the left. Are those ghosts or just shadows? Hmmmm...

This is the view as we started through the trees. There is a pond with a small house back there. In the distance you can see Lake Ontario. In the foreground is one of the resident cats. Fluffy and friendly and not scary at all!
On the way home we called my niece (who is a grad student at Canisus) and took her to lunch at My Tomato Pie (YUM!) and then we just HAD to stop at my favorite LSS-Buffalo Stamps N Stuff for some retail therapy and inspiration. Waving HI to Debbie and Marty! Two fun and talented gals!
It was a really great day!
I hope your weekend was one to remember!
Thanks for stopping! I'll announce the winner of the wine box tomorrow when I HOPE to have a Magnolia card to post!
Hugs, Cheryl

Summer flowers!

Hello friends! There is so much going on this summer, but I thought I would show you a card I made this week for a friend's wedding anniversary-I sent it almost 2 weeks late! Yikes!! I CASEd a card that Nicole Heady (Papertrey Ink) made when this set (Springtime Doodles) was released. Actually I only changed the colors and sentiment. What can I say? Her work is an inspiration!
It's really fun to make acetate cards now and then. If you haven't tried it give it a go sometime! They are a real WOW when finished!
Here is a picture of MOST of the blog candy I'm offering for the 200,000 (and counting!) visits to my blog. I have one stamp to add and, of course, the card! If you win and have any of these stamps we can discuss switching them for others. No problem!
Feel free to leave a comment on this post, but I will draw the winner from MONDAY's POST' COMMENTS (click to go to post) .
You have until Sunday morning (Aug 1 to leave a comment). I'll draw later that day. Then just check back to see if you've won.
Tomorrow I will have my FIRST card from a new company that I'm making cards for. I hope you will visit and see who it is! I'm so honored to create for this company!

Vintage Pictic take two!

Decided to post this next to yesterday's post as I get everything finished and scheduled for next week. I really do love the versatility of this set from Papertrey Ink! I used a sketch from Taylored Expressions (#114) to show off papers from TheGirls' Paperie-Paper Girl collection. The card is pretty self explanatory otherwise. the card is 4.75" square.
Thanks for coming by again! Wishing you a really excellent day and weekend!

Wishing You Well!

Hello dear friends!
I hope this day finds you well, happy and enjoying another summer day! We have had 90 degrees daily for almost a week and I'm not complaining! Of course, that also has to do with not having to go to work and firing up our room airconditioners and fans in the morning! I've been walking around the lake (3 mi) every day at 6:00 AM and having outside work done by 10:00! It gets a little hot after that! DH and I did take our kayaks out in the evening a couple of nights ago. Good times! I made this card for a friend who just had surgery. It seems when I'm not stealing outright from Debbie Olson I'm channeling her! I used vintage picnic from Papertrey Ink and Cosmo Cricket paper with my beloved Kraft card stock.
I make several of this type of card at a time. I stamp the picnic basket on different papers and color them all up. since it's summer I stamped the daisies on cream (about 8 of them!) and colored them up. Then I cut my baskets out and lay them on the cream paper with the daisies. I'll have a very different card on the same idea to show you in a day or so.
I'm trying to get ahead as DH is on vacation next week! Yeah!
I'm doing great after my surgery and I see the DR. today. Thanks for all your well wishes! They are very much appreciated!
Better get some other stuff done before my appt. See you soon and thank for coming by the
Cottage!

The Birds and the Bees!

Well, actually I've got the bee (and the flowers). To see the birds I hope you will check out the Copic Creations Challenge which has been posted today! But first, my card. I used Papertrey Ink's All About You Additions. I just had to have this flower garden image when the June release cam out! Debbie Olson provided me with the colors for the start when she posted a card. I used them for this card, but I will be coloring them in different combos!
Using her card as inspiration I tried to add my own touches! I hope you like!
Now here is the link to see some realistic birds colored with copic markers by the best artists around! Copic Creations Challenge Blog. check 'em out!
I've got to get more work done today than I did yesterday! So I'm off!
Have a great day yourself!

What a great day!

Hello friends!! Here's a collage style card as an homage to TIM (Tim Holtz)! I may have to get grungier because it was a fun day yesterday! Sharon (Buffalo Stamps and Stuff) and her "people" organized a wonderful day complete with personal shoppers! Lisa, Tracy and I took the Generation Grunge class from the man himself! My card uses Artichoke card stock, then a layer of Riding Hood Red. The "white" panel is Vintage Cream and is embossed with one of the (many) Tim Holtz products I bought yesterday-an embossing folder! I found the dotted paper on my desk from another project and the card came together. It also uses Papertrey Ink's Vintage Picnic set.
I think one reason the card came together is that I looked at the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS this morning and saw a card I liked! I'm going to upload my card as a CASE over there.

And here's TIM! He was a great teacher, but we
WORKED! I thought I would never get all that sanding done!

Wish I knew what he was discussing here! He was very entertaining!

And, finally a couple of photos of my Generation Grunge Journal. We used the same elements, but the journals I was able to see were all very different!

That's it. I must try to get a Mo card done tonight and, of course, my Maggies have felt neglected since last weekend!
Thanks for coming by to look!
Hugs, Cheryl

Two Simple cards

Hello and Happy Wednesday! It's hump day! I can see the weekend on the horizon!
I've had these Papertrey Ink flowers colored for awhile and am late with so many cards so I needed to do something with them. I colored up some leaves and CASEd a card that Nichole Heady posted for the May release. They are rather simple in design, but aren't those flowers great?!

I often use the copic colors that Nichole gives in her store (on the copics page) for each of her stores colors. Often they are perfect! I always check Debbie Olson's blog too. she usually shows her marker colors.
For the leaves I used my own (I think) combination.
YG21, YG91, YG93 and YG95
For the pink flower I used R30, R32 and R35
The orange flower is YR12, YR15 and YR18
You may be seeing this card again. I'm trying another and stamping the center rectangle with versamark and a bg stamp so it's not so plain. If I like the effect I'll post it!
The white lines are drawn with a ruler and and Inkssentials pen. I sponged the edges of the card with Vintage Photo distress ink.
Thanks for coming by today!
