Last Minute Christmas Cards

Hello friends!
I am knee deep in cooking today for Christmas Eve.  I am taking a little break to post a few Christmas cards I created.
This first one was made using Whimsy Stamp's Quick Cards, Woodland Santa.  I know I say this every time, but these images are so beautiful.  But I gotta be me and fancy it up a bit more.  I created a shaker card using the Inverted Scallops Die.  The frame was adhered to acetate and popped up with some crafty foam tape.  I finished it off with some rustic twine and a couple of jingle bells.
My second card is so silly and fun and uses the Snow Over it! Living in Illinois, we have already had a ton of snow and super cold temps and it's only December!  How will we survive another 3 months of this? So this was a card after my own heart for sure! I created a scene with all of the images. I used the  Polka Dot Stencil for the background along with some snowflakes die cut from the Elegant Snowflakes and Border Die set.  I finished the card off with twine. :)
Have a very Merry Christmas!!
Thank you for always stopping by!

Whimsy Stamp's Quick Cards

Hello friends!
Busy, busy, busy!
In the midst of shopping, parties, etc, I have found a bit of time here and there to sneak away to my craft room.  Whimsy Stamp's Quick Card Fronts for the win! For my first card I used the Chilly Penguins. The images are so pretty by themselves, but I've never been one to leave things alone.  LOL. So I added some snow flakes.  These are from the Elegant Snowflakes and Border die set.  The snowflakes were glittered using glossy accents.  I tied a bit of rustic twine, jingle bells, and a few plastic leaves I had in my stash.
My second card also uses the Chilly Penguins set.  I added a snowflake, a bit of red gingham ribbon, some leaves, and the sentiment.
I have a few more cards to share before Christmas, so stay tuned! :)
Have a wonderful week!

Christmas Treat Box

Hello friends!
I know it has been awhile.  I have been creating a lot but finding with this time change, that taking pictures is a challenge.  By the time I get home from school, it's already getting dark.  :(
And of course life doesn't stop....it's always busy.
I love these new Washi Stickers by Whimsy Stamps.  I had an old scalloped squared die that I cut the sticker into.  I used the Mini Treat Box Die with red paper and inked the edges in brown.  The box was assembled and I cut a piece of chocolate brown paper to fit the top of the box.  I adhered the Washi sticker.  Twine and jingle bells were tied as a finishing touch.
Thank you for hanging in there with me! I always appreciate your visits!

A Mouse and an Elf

Hello friends! I just wrapped up my first trimester at school and heading into conferences next week.  I will be glad for a few days off to recharge and spend time with family. If this year has taught me anything, is to not take loved ones for granted.

I have two Christmas projects to share with you using lots of Whimsy products
This adorable mouse is part of the Christmas Portraits stamp set.  It was colored with Copics and cut out using  the Pierced and Stitched circle die  I decided to make a gift box to be able to give to a coworker.  It uses the Hexagon Treat Box Die.  I covered the box with glossy accents and sprinkled it with clear glitter.   I added a satin bow, a little posy, and a gift tag.
This next project uses the Elven Tags Die Set.  It is perfect for cards, tags, and would make a cute bookmark too!  I cut all the pieces and colored them with Copics. I added the candy stripes using the Terrific Tickets Shadows and Patterns Stencil. As a finishing touch, I added string and a jingle bell.  Everything is better with a jingle bell.  LOL.
Thank you for stopping by today! I really appreciate your visits!

Whimsy's New Release!

Hello friends!
I am a bit late posting my cards for the new Whimsy Stamp's release.
Life has been crazy again.  My FIL was back in the hospital.  He had a heart attack.  He is back home and doing okay, but has home nursing coming every day.  It's been a lot again. My husband has been nothing but patient, but I can see him getting weary.

Anyway, that is why I am a bit late.
This new set, S'mores,  is so stinking cute, I had to make 3 cards with it.  Each image was colored with Copics and fussy cut.  There are dies to go with it, but I didn't have those.  ;)  The background was done with the Snowflake Mask Stencil, texture paste, and chunky glitter. I tried the sentiment in both red and black, not sure which one I prefer?

Thank you for stopping by today!!

Merry Mail, Whimsy's New Quick Card Fronts

Hello friends!
I missed sharing Whimsy's new release last week.  I was in Disney World with my son, daughter in law, and granddaughter.  Experiencing this with my granddaughter was amazing!

Whimsy's new Quick Card Fronts, Merry Mail, are gorgeous.  I machine stitched around each card and used Sparkle Grit Paste around the perimeter.  I added a sentiment and a small red and white bow. These Quick Card Fronts don't require anything to make them beautiful, which I love! Sometimes you just need a .......well...quick card! ;)

Whimsy's New Christmas Release!

Hello friends!

I will be doing a mixture of Halloween and Christmas over the next few weeks.  I am so glad that I have been able to get a bit of time in my craft room again.  It really makes my heart happy.  AND next weekend I am heading to Disney to spend a long weekend with my kiddos and granddaughter. :)

Today's card uses Whimsy's new stamp set called, Christmas Tickets.  I love that there are coordinating stencils too! I had to use the striped stencil to play off the candy cane theme.  I don't have the dies, but they were easy enough to fussy cut.  I paired the tickets with a light blue background that was embossed with the new Tweed Cover Plate Die.  The subtle texture is perfect.  I added a candy cane that I had glittered, along with a pink bow.  It is giving me confection vibes!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Bad Santa! New Release!

Hello friends!
Happy October 1st!  Today is Whimsy Stamp's new release day!
I am sharing a new stamp set called, Bad Santa.  The images are a riot and make me smile! I love that they come with coordinating dies too. This Santa was colored with Copics and added to the scene found in the new 6 x 6 paper pack called, Cozy Hearth.  I did a bit of machine stitching and added some chunky glitter to the edges.  Such a fun card for Christmas!
Be sure to check out the full release at Whimsy!
Have a wonderful day!

Post Christmas Penguins!

Hello there!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
This year our Christmas wasn't as joyous as Christmas's past. We are dealing with aging parents and their health is declining. Some difficult decisions are being made, and it is stressful to say the least.
My son was unable to make it home for the holiday, which meant I couldn't celebrate my granddaughter's first Christmas. Thank goodness for Facetime at least.
Anyway, my lack of posts is due to my life being a bit hectic lately.
I made these cards awhile ago but never got to posting them.  This set, Penguin Winter Holiday, from Whimsy Stamps, is so cute I had to make a card for each of them. :)
Each image was colored with Copic Markers and cut out using a basic circle and scallop die. Liquid applique was added to their hats and glitter sprinkled over it while it was still wet.

Each background was done with Tim Holtz Distress spray in Picked Raspberry.  I did some machine stitching to finish it off.

Thank you for hanging in there with me!
Have a wonderful week and Happy New Year!

Merry Stressmas

I love Christmas and everything it means, but if I am honest, I also find it stressful.
It is a busy and hectic time of the year.  So hopefully you can relate to my card today!
This set is from Whimsy Stamps and it is called, Merry Stressmas.  I used Copics to color him in and added some of the sentiments around him.  I also used liquid applique for his hot cocoa and some glitter for the snow.  I used the Holly Frame die and some of Tim Holtz metallic green paper.  I gave it a bit of sanding to distress the edges a bit.  Twine and jingle bells were added as a finishing touch.
Have a wonderful week!
