Travel Cards

I have been doing a number of "cute" or "whimsical cards lately, so I thought I would switch and post something a little different.  I love the images on these two cards.  They are from Hampton Arts.  They are great images to use as there are so versatile.

The first card shows only a partial image from the Hampton Art stamp.  I cut it to fit the beautiful Cheery Lynn die,  I like the fact that there are a number of different little images which can be colored.  This I did with Copic markers.
Finishing off  the card, I attached a ready-made embellishment which says "Dream" with a small butterfly attached.  This is what I am doing  now as we  almost made a trip to Paris this summer, but decided otherwise.  Now I can only dream of going.

My second card is also a travel-inspired card; I put the Hampton Art image on a very small mat of burgundy and then place that on some beautiful designer paper which is gold and has copper in the design  All of this is placed on a burgundy base card.  I didn't put a sentiment on this card as I didn't want to distract from the image.  Again, Copic markers were used to color.

A Little More Inspiration

Here is a little Valentine sick card I made for a friend.  I decided to use the scrap black and white paper I had left over from the tag I previously made.

The Love Bug stamp is from Hampton Arts.  The lace was made by using a border punch on a strip of paper and then turning it over and punchng on the other side.  The heart is double layered.  The bottom layer is a piece of shinny. cardstock and on top that heart it has a shinny heart with florescent designs in it.  This card really does not reveal any technique in particular.

Below are two cards made by Krisha..
Krisha
This is the first time I have ever used a digital image and I am ashamed to say I don't know where it is from, but I fell in love with it. She is colored with pencil and marker, then trimmed. I layered her onto an oval that had been dry embossed then inked and embossed with red embossing powder. That oval went onto a white, slightly larger oval, then onto some red hand made paper, and tied it off with a red w/ polka dot ribbon. I did run the card through the dry embosser for a texture on the front of the card itself

Gingersnap Creations Color Challenge

The Gingersnap Creations GC#88 Color Challenge this week is Coffee and Cream.  For my inspirational piece I chose to do an Aged Tiles technique card.  The collage stamp showing a lady standing in front of the Colosseum in Rome is by Hampton Art Stamps.  The tiles are distressed with Ranger Vintage Photo color.  To give the card a little elegance I chose to add a string of pearls underneath the stamped picture and tie a bow with them.  Under the pearls is a piece of really old paper lace that I have had for years and never knew what to do with it.

With this card I finish up my month of being a Visiting Artist with Gingersnap Creations.  It has really been a fun time.
