Color Palette Guidelines: deep gold---purple---soft blue

To enter the Color Challenge you MUST use at least 2 colors from the monthly color palette and as always you may also use black, white, neutrals or metallic colors as well! We are finding that there are so many amazing artists who are joining our challenge, that we can’t keep up with choosing winners! So, we’ll still have 5 winners of $50 gift certificates to Lindy’s, (sometimes more if we get tons of participants), and of those, 3 projects will be picked by Lindy’s for style, linking, etc, (the details are below) and 2 will be randomly drawn. Hopefully more people are encouraged to enter and we’ll get even more gorgeous projects! We just love sharing the Lindy love & thought this would be a great way to do it without anyone feeling intimidated.

For the challenge inspiration, I've created a Pair of Mixed Media Tags.

Post 341: CAS Christmas Card

Hi friends !

I'd like to share a Clean and Simple Christmas Card. This was part of my DT work for PABD, all the details can be checked out here. I heat embossed the Poinsettia and sentiment in gold and watercolored the flower with Festive Berries Distress Ink refill. I wanted a deep red color and whenever I use my zig markers, the red somehow looks pinkish so in order to attain a deep, rich red I used the distress ink refill and it worked beautifully. Then added a bit of washi tape at the bottom to balance the design, a few sequins for sparkle and a few dots of red stickles on the chocolate brown die cut. They aren't visible in the photo but they add a bit of shine to the crosses all around the dome die cut. Also, I foam mounted the dome die cut and the flower :) I kept the color scheme quite festive with cream, chocolate brown, red and gold and I must say I love that color combo and will be using it again!

List of Supplies:

PABD stamp- Poinsettia
PABD die- Dome Tower Dies
Ranger's Fine Embossing Powder- Gold
Versamark Watermark Mini Inkpad
Homemade Emboss Buddy
Gold and red sequins
Festive Berries Distress Ink Refill
Cream and Chocolate Brown Cardstock
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
Red Stickles
Washi tape
3d Foam Tape

Post 320: Sparkly Birthday Card

Hi friends!

I'd like to share a Sparkly Birthday Card I made inspired by the Craftyscrappers Challenge. For the sparkle I have added gold foil and gold glitter paper.

I used foil for the first time. Basically used the Craftyscrappers Color Splash Stencil and added tacky glue through it and then the gold foil. It didn't transfer completely but I really like the splashy gold effect it gave :) then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Craftyscrappers Doodly Blooms stamp all over the panel as well as a few pink hearts from the Beary Special Day stamp. I really like that cute baby image. My niece helped me by coloring it in using Zigs :) it was so much fun crafting with her. Then added the arrow stencil design on the pink heart and layered up everything. In the end, we added 3 tiny half pearls to the baby's crown.

Supplies Used:

Craftyscrapper Fun Foils- Glitzy Gold
Craftyscrappers Stamps- Baby Prince & Princess, Doodly Blooms & Beary Special Day
Craftyscrappers Stencils- The Arrow & Color Splash
Gina Marie Stitched Rectangles Die
Sizzix heart die
White and Baby Pink Cardstock
3d Foam Tape
Gold Glitter Paper
Tacky Glue
Archival Inkpad - Jet Black
Distress Oxide Inkpad- Worn Lipstick
Snippet of watercolor paper (stamped the baby on it) and pink cardstock (die cut the heart)
Ranger blending tool and foams
Half Pearls

Here are a few photos of the card:

The foiling is better visible at this angle

Post 300: CAS Diwali Card (fish)

Hi friends!!

I'd like to share a Clean & Simple Diwali Card. This was part of my DT work for Peek-a-boo designs, all the details are here. This is an A2 sized, top folding card.

Process:

- Die cut white cardstock using the stitched scalloped rectangle die. Then colored the scalloped frame with Fossilized Amber & Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides
- On the card base, masked off the edges and applied distress oxides through the Dimensional Stencil
- Stamped the beautiful fish from the new Madhubani Stamp on Canson Watercolor paper & watercolored it in with zig markers, then fussy cut it.
- Stamped the sentiment from the Diwali Greetings Stamp set onto a strip of watercolor paper & then colored in the strip with zigs and an aqua brush.
- To assemble the card, adhered the frame at a tilted angle onto the cardbase, also adhered the sentiment strip within the frame and then foam mounted the fish in the center, to add texture added a few gold strings under the fish to make it pop.
- In the end, adhered a few gold colored sequins for some sparkle

Here is a photo of the card:

Post 294: CAS Diwali Card

Hi friends!

I'd like to share a Clean & Simple Diwali Card today.
Diwali is the festival of lights & festivities. And it is the time we spend with our friends & family.
So I thought of making a few cards to give to my loved ones :)
The sentiment on this is in the hindi language and it means "Have a Blessed Diwali"
For this card, I have done heat embossing in gold through a stencil.

List of Supplies:
Peekaboo Designs Stamp Set- All Occasions Hindi
The Crafter’s Workshop Stencil- Mini Fleur De Lis Doily
Versamark Watermark Mini stamp pad
Ranger’s Embossing Powder- Gold (super fine detail)
Ranger’s Heat Tool
Homemade Emboss buddy (some corn flour stitched into a cloth bag)
Navy Blue Cardstock 250 gsm
Acrylic Block/Stamping Tool
Mudra Sequins- Gold
Ranger’s Glossy Accents

Procedure:

1. Prepared the cardbase by dabbing an emboss buddy on the surface (to avoid static so that the embossing powder doesn’t unnecessarily stick to it) then using the stencil as a template, dabbed the versamark stamp pad through the design. After that spread some gold embossing powder onto the sticky ink and flicked off any extra using a dry brush. Then heat embossed the design with a heat tool.
2. In a similar way, heat embossed the sentiment by stamping it in versamark ink.
3. Finished the card by adding a few gold sequins.

Here are a couple of photos of the card:

(the shine from the gold embossing & sequins is more visible in this pic)

Post 233: CAS Card- Sparkle

Hi friends :)

How are you today ? Still recovering from the flu bug but that doesn't keep me away from crafting :) I'd like to share a Clean and Simple Card. This is a standard A2 sized landscape style side folding card. The process was simple enough, I've done some inlaid die cutting. The word sparkle has been made dimensional by adhering 2 black die cuts under the sparkly gold die cut. I've added some gold splatter with perfect pearls and in the end, added a few flat star sequins. The card is quite shiny and sparkly, I'm not sure it shows up in the photos.

List of Supplies:

Winnie & Walter Essential Cutaways- Lana Cutaways
Die Cuts & More - Word Die: Sparkle
Perfect Pearls- gold
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
Gold Flat Sequins
White Cardstock 270 gsm
Snippets of Black Cardstock

Here are a couple of photos of the card:

I am playing along with the following challenges:

W & W Rerun No. 21 - I didn't have the Kindness stamp set so I chose the alternative, I was inspired by Kate's card. I loved the way she used the shine die cut in gold color across the middle of her card along with the gold splatter, I have done my own version of the same.
CASology #258 - Diamond (When I think of diamonds, I think of their shine and sparkle)

Post 127: CAS Birthday Card

Hi friends !!

I'm so glad you've taken the time to visit me here. I truly appreciate it :) Today I'd like to share a clean and simple birthday card.

This is a top folding A2 size card. I wanted the focal image to be of a sparkly and shiny birthday cake.

Synopsis of the Process:

On snippets of black cardstock, the cake, decorations on the cake, the candle and the sentiment were stamped (from the Hero Arts Birthday set) with versamark ink and then heat embossed in gold. Then the images were die cut with coordinating dies. A banner was created out of a snippet of purple cardstock which was layered under the black sentiment banner to accent it. Some ink blending was done in the center of the cardbase and then the die cut stamped images were adhered with tombow glue. To finish off the card, 3 gold sequins were added.

List of Supplies:

1. Hero Arts Stamp and Die- Birthday
2. Ranger's gold embossing powder (fine detail)
3. Ranger's heat tool
4. Homemade emboss buddy
5. Tim holtz mini distress inkpad- peacock feathers

8. A pair of scissors
9. Sizzix Big Shot Plus for die cutting
10. Ranger's round blending tool and foam
11. Tombow mono multi glue
12. Versamark watermark mini inkpad

Here are a few pictures of the card:
