Hearts - and yep! I'm losing it!

OK so Saturday I was going to make a card for our digi challenge on Sunday, and indeed I did just that. The challenge was set by our lovely Gunn and she wanted to see HEARTS! Of course being a Charmed digi challenge the most important part was one of our own download images! I had a stack printed and stamped images and was sifting through them looking for one to use. I duly coloured in the one I chose and created my card. Only when I had finished did I realised I had failed the challenge by using a Sarah Kay stamp instead of one of the Charmed digi images. DOH @ ME big time!!! I hid away in the corner until now LOL Please do pop over to Dottie's World and join the challenge (but remember that Charmed image please).

I used my Martha Stewart Hearts Deep Edging punch for this one; first time I've used it and it's FAB! Love it.
Also on the front is Prima Lace for the bow, you can't see it here but I lightly covered parts of the bow in clear adhesive and added some crystal glamour dust - BlackPrima Crystals - Fancy Pants rub-on - Large Crinkled Roses which I sprayed with Old Lace Glimmer Mist - K&Co Sweet Talk Pearls and Red heart crystal - "I heart you" is from the reverse side of the Bo Bunny paper. I glazed the hearts that was part of the design on the paper on the front with Glossy Accent.

The paper is Bo Bunny Persuasion and perfect for Valentine and other romantic occasions. It is double-sided and I used one side for the front and the textual side to cover the inside. I cut both the heart on the front and the two inside with Nestabilities dies. The large chipboard flower inside is a Basic Grey Sugar Rush chipboard around which I wrapped some red fibre.

And the image alas is a Sarah Kay stamp which I coloured in with Copic markers.

Thanks for visiting the Charmed corner of the Web :-)

Charmed Digi Challenge

Well it's not really Dottie's World anymore, it is shared by the many other characters that makes up the Charmed digi stamps :-) My turn to set the challenge today and this is it:

The challenge is simply "Coffee and Cream with spots or stripes" - and a Charmed download of course.

I have lots of spots and stripes on my card and the colours are of course coffee & cream. The digi-stamp used here is Puddle Love from the Dottie & George Love & Marriage collection. I think this is such a special image, just delightful; I absolutely love it and never tire of using it.

A liberal use of Glossy Accents on the puddle and umbrella provided a nice "wet look" just perfect for this image.

This is roughly what I used to make this card:

  • Digi Stamp: Puddle LOve from the Dottie & George Love & Marriage collection
  • Papers: Brown textured cardstock. Pixie Press paper (leftover from our sale)
  • Embellishments: K&Co Ancestry rhinestones. Petaloo Flowers and flower centre. K&Co buttons and lettering (Life's Journey). Cream cotton lace
  • Tools & Misc: Nestabilities, McGill Pine Punch, Glossy Accents, Distress Inks
I coloured the image using Copic markers.

Lots of inspiration on Dottie's World today as we have no less than FOUR new design team members starting. Please pop over and take a look.

Valentine #2

Well I don't know about you but I am soooo looking forward to waking up to a pile of cards on the mat, and the constant chime of the doorbell as various florists' pop over with huge bouquets of wonderful flowers! Yup, it's gonna be a fineeeee day!

So that thought put me in the mood for lurve and I created another Valentine's card, again using the fabulous new downloads available right now! I used Basic Grey paper for the background, K&Co Sweet Talk paper from the Mat Pad, I also used K&Co Cut 'n Paste and Lotus Tea Box ephemera (gorgeous!). Madison was coloured in with my Le Plume marker pens and everything was glittered with Stickles, except the chocolate where I used Glossy Accents

........and did I mention that Brad Pitt is coming to dinner tomorrow night? Oh yeah!!!

Valentine

Have you created your Valentine card yet? You could of course be of the, perfectly rational, opinion that Valentine is a pile of poops, and indeed it has become very commercialised. It is nice though to receive a card from the one you love, telling them how much you care, don't you think? Even nicer of course when it's a handcrafted card.

With this in mind I set the theme of "Lurve" for the Sunday challenge on Dottie's World. Here is my effort.

Products used:
K&Co Sweet Talk Papers,
K&Co Sweet Talk large fabric brads
K&Co Sweet Talk Be My Valentine Paper Ribbon
K&Co Sweet Talk"Kiss Me" Rub-On & Gems
Queen & Co Felt Frenzy Love
Red Ribbon
Glossy Accent
Red & Black Ink
Tim Holtz Paper Distresser
I coloured the image using Marvy Brushmarkers

Gissa Kiss - Free Sentiment....

I don't know, I sit there for ages slaving away making a sentiment circle and then what do I do? I give it away! Ahh, I must love you lot!! :o) So my sentiment circle I made for the Sunday Challenge on Dottie's World yesterday is up for grabs, all you have to do is let me know you want it by dropping me a line. Click this link to the Charmed site and write your details in the online form (opens in a new window). Usual restrictions apply, the sentiment is for your own personal use only and must not be shared or used for commercial purposes.

I made this card for the Monday Mojo spot on Dottie's World (link in the right-hand bar), using my sentiment of course.

The card uses the fabulous Puddle Love image from the Love and Marriage collection.

Other products used here:

  • Basic Grey Ambrosia Paper
  • Black and White Bazzill
  • Imaginisce Paper
  • K&Co AB Lotus Tea Box Grand Adhesions
  • K&Co AB Lotus Tea Box Fabric Tag
  • Tim Holtz Metal Spinner
  • Treading Water border punch
  • Lots of Glossy Accents
  • Ink
  • My Gissa Kiss Sentiment :o)
I used the transparent coloured Puddle Love image against the sentiment and printed on white Bazzill. This shows that the sentiment circles can form an integral part of your design.

Double Challenge

It's a double challenge over on Dottie's World today where the Sunday challenge is to use a Charmed download and double the challenge with another elsewhere in blogland. I chose to double up with the challenge on Cute Card Thursday where the specs are as follows: "The two of us- we would like you to use two of something on your card, it could be 2 people, 2 animals or 1 of each". On my card I have not only used two of the download characters (Dottie and George), I have used the same image twice - on the front and then again on the inside of the card.
The idea of this card can be summed up by the wording on the card:

"Love Birds" (on the front)

"Separated we are mere shadows of ourselves, together we are complete (inside the card)"

The front depicting the love birds apart is therefore in very plain drab colours, with the inside literally bursting with bright colours when they are joined - depicting the anguish of being parted and the joy of being together.

Front

Inside

This was like doing three cards in one go and it did take some time. I am really happy with the result though :o)
