Key to my heart...

What a gloomy Saturday it is, absolutely perfect weather for staying indoors and getting inked up :-) Our new stamps should be arriving next week, and it will be absolutely thrilling to see them in the flesh. In the meantime Louise Brigden and I have been showcasing the stamps on our new blog "Charmed Delectable Stamps" to whet the appetite. Here is a card using the adorable Annie & Ted stamp.

I love these metal keys by K&Co. They are from the new Life's Journey collection (as opposed to the old from from about 5 years ago) and just like antique real keys. The flower is Prima.

I used K&Co Que Sera Sera paper for the background, and a Que Sera Sera notepad sheet for the centre. The butterfly is also Que Sera Sera and I decorated it with a few pearls. Ribbon is We are Memory Keepers. Annie and Ted were coloured in with Copic markers.
I really hope we are going to be seeing our Annie stamps as part of glorious projects all over the Web. :-)

Thanks for visiting xx

Blog Candy with a Twist!

What a blog candy!! Fancy getting your hands on 72 Copic markers?? No you didn't read that wrong - I really did say 72!!!

Charmed Cards & Crafts have teamed up with Graphics Direct Ltd to bring you this fantastic prize. Graphics Direct Ltd are without doubt the cheapest place to get your Copics', and with outstanding customer service to boot. Although we sell several markers, such as Le Plume, we highly recommend Graphics Direct Ltd for THE place to get your Copics'.
The twist is that we want you to link to a project on your blog (in your comment) that either uses a download or a stamped image that you coloured in.
  • Link to a card you made with a download or a stamped image (does NOT have to be one of ours)
  • If you are using one of the Charmed Cards & Crafts downloads then you get two chances (please enter two comments, in the second just write "my second chance). All entries will be checked.
  • Please mention the candy on your blog.

This will run until 10th April. This post will stay on top until then. The final draw will be entirely random.
GOOD LUCK!! x

UPDATE 11th APRIL: The candy is now closed, comment entered from today will not be counted towards the draw, which will take place Easter Monday. Thank you so much to all who entered xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Meet Annie!

My new little girl. I am really enjoying drawing at the moment, they are not perfect but unfortunately I haven't got time to make them that, nor do I have any fancy writing stuff, just a humble pencil - not excuses, merely facts. So here is my latest in my line of "Sitting girls/Boys"

I cut the frame, scalloped circle behind Annie and pop-up flowers on my Silhouette from K&Co Cut 'n Paste paper. Other flowers used were two yellow Prima flowers.

Once again I used my McGill pine branch punch.

and these were my Copic colours:

Thanks for looking and have a lovely day.

Copic Colour Challenge

My turn to set the colours for the Copic Challenge this week. I chose the following:

BG13 - Mint Green
YO8 - Acid Yellow
V06 - Lavender

I really like these colours together, a nice bright ensemble of frivolity :-)
As well as using the colours for my image I also coloured an old paper doily in V06 Lavender and a scalloped circle in BG13 Mint Green. The main card right at the back is also coloured with BG13, well edges only as that was all you would see.

Pine branches with my McGill punch, I seem to be using that a lot these days.

These were all the colours used:
Pop over the Copic Challenge blog and look at the outstanding work produced by the other DT members! There's a link in the sidebar.

Copic Sketch Challenge

Well here it is, my first DT card for the Copic Challenge blog! I've never been on a design team outside Charmed Cards & Crafts, nor have I ever sent anything in for submission, whether a competition or magazine, so this is really quite alien to me but also quite exciting, and may I say, perhaps a little scary.

The challenge this time was a sketch and of course we had to use Copic Markers.

I used K&Co Cut 'n Paste papers and elements, plus other K&Co products from the Margo and Wild Saffron collection for this card. I absolutely adore the colours from the Cut 'n Paste range, such mellow, soft hues.

I wasn't sure if I preferred the one with the bow, or without, so I am showing them both here. The image is "Juliet" from the Girls About Town download bundle (download button in the right-hand panel).

...with bow:

without bow:
I really love this card, I would even go as far as to say it's my all time favourite.I can't tell you how many pictures I have taken for the blog though, I just couldn't get the colour right!! You can see what a difference a little lighting can make in the next two pictures, one is perhaps a little too light, the other a little too dark.

These circles represent the three square elements on the sketch (in case you were wondering where the heck they were!).

... and here are the Copics' I used to colour my image.

Pop over to the Copic Challenge blog and see what delights the other design team members have created, then have a go yourself. We look forward to seeing your makes.

Thanks for visiting my little corner on the Web xxx
