Circle Journal

I love circle journals. not only is it fun to create in them but I love seeing the creations from the other members. We normally have one going on the Charmed forum and here's one of my recent efforts. The theme was "Grandma's Recipe's". It's a desktop calendar type journal so the pages flip over.

My first page shows grandma cooking. I used Basic Grey papers and embellishments (June Bug) - Prima lace - borders cut with two Martha Stewart punches.

This fab image is Mo Manning. I was searching for a granny stamp and found this digi which was just perfect for the job. She is coloured in with Copic markers (must start writing colurs down for you).

Here is a huge cooking pot on the second page, that I again coloured in with my Copics. Behind the pot panel is a recipe that pulls out. I gave my grandma's soup recipe, which was out of this world. My mum made it even better but I can't quite master it.

You can see how I cut out grandma and mounted her on foam for a 3D effect. I cut table legs for the table and glittered edges distreetly with a little Stickles.

That's it for me today. Thanks for popping by xx

CJ Time!

I can't believe it is CJ5 on the Charmed forum - five circles, five years - where did that time go? I love doing these circles with my lovely Charmed friends, they are a fantastic bunch of people.

So last weekend I created my journal, and yesterday I tearfully waved it bon voyage. In almost one years time it will be returned to me filled with wonderful pages; I can't wait!

Can't show you my journal in case the girls are watching, but here are some sneaky peeks. My theme this time was "Self Portrait":

Crikey it's bucketing it down out there! We haven't had much rain later, and God knows the lawn needs a little moisture, but it looks like the big guy upstairs has decided to give us the whole lot in one go! Are you seeing any lasting sunshine where you are? I don't just mean a little teaser now and again, I mean golden rays all day, no interruptions! If you live in the UK I bet your answer will be a resounding no! It's been warm yes, but most days have been overcast and grey with no wind, quite opressive really, especially here in London where I live. Oh well, perhaps it'll get better :-)

Bye for now. Thanks for visiting the Charmed corner of the WWW :-)

New Goodies!

We have been waiting for the new Basic Grey collections, Origins and Sugar Rush, along with Imaginisce Sweet Cheri and Glimmer Mist, and due to adverse conditions there were delays. At last they arrived today and we could ship the pre-orders that had been waiting.

Many shops may stock Basic Grey but very few stock entire collections - we do. Each time a new collection is released the amount of products within each grows. but you will find them all at Charmed. This time they seemed to have exploded and each collection was literally bursting at the seams! Pop over to Charmed Cards & Crafts and check them out :-)

The Sweet Cheri range is perfect for Valentine and include those adorable clear stamps for under a quid!

Not had time to craft this week so I thought I'd show you a little layout I did for the Charmed Craft Talk journal circle recently. The theme here was "Space" and that could be interpreted in many ways. This was my interpretation, largely because I crave a little "me time":

Thanks for looking :-)

Hello!

Crikey it's been a while since I posted to the blog! I haven't been crafting much, the only things I have done is put together a CJ for the Charmed circle and make up a couple of classes. I don't know why I left creating my CJ until the last minute (but I did) but it didn't turn out too bad in the end. Here are some pictures:

My theme for this CJ was "Do You Believe?" I used a 7Gypsies naked book which I actually coloured with Copic markers before decorating.

Welcome and rules pages. Again I coloured the pages with a green Copic marker before decorating:

My own double layout into my journal.

I did my journalling here on one of the large gorgeous Take Note's from the Basic Grey Lemonade collection. These are a new addition to their ranges, and a very welcome one! Chipboard is Fancy Pants Daily Grind (Available at Charmed Cards & Crafts).

I found this gorgeous picture of an angel on the Internet and crackle glazed over it. Click on the picture to see detail. My whole layout is quite ethereal and the distressed triple frame I created with a gold metallic marker on white bazzill add to that feel. I made a smaler frame like that to mat the sentiment I created on the first page of this layout.

Finally my sign-in page.

Lets end with a bit of music. Have you been watching the new XFactor auditions? There have been some crackers amongst the soggy crisps but this one is my absolute favourite:

This guy can sing!!
I mentioned a couple of classes I made for the site and here they are.

UKS Retailers CJ

This is the last entry in the second UKS Retailers circle. It has been a bit of a rough ride but I have enjoyed making the entries. I now can't wait to see the entries in my own book.

The theme this time was "Pop Idol", but to be honest I have always been more of a rock chick so "Rock Idol" was more appropriate. The centrepiece on the first page folds out to reveal my writing.

Don't get me wrong, I love a ballad and have been known to play "I will always love you" over and over again for about 3 months, but my heart will always be with these great guys!

Basic Grey papers, fibres and black brads. I also used the new K&Co Rock Star Adhesive Chipboard - it arrived just in the nick of time.

Magical & Mystical

That was the subject of the latest CJ to complete for the UKS Retailers circle, the focus being on fairytale and such like. Other entries included two dragons, angel, Santa and mermaids. I really struggled on this one, and you don't want to know how long it took me, but I finally got there.

I used Perfect Pearls on almost everything and it's very difficult to photograph as the colours keep changing. Here are some pictures from my entry, my only regret is that I didn't paint on the smooth side of the Bazzill for the unicorn.

More CJ Entries

Once again I have been busy making entries for the UKS Retailers CJ2. The first one is "I want to be...."

Of course I haven't got the courage to be any of these things, and thus I never will be (hence the quote on the second page). The wording around the quote is "I want to grab life by the balls ... but I'm too much of a coward" - well, I do have my moments! Wording down the side of the second page reads "I know my limitations" - although sometimes quite frankly, I probably don't!

The second one is "Dare to Dream"

I worry on a daily basis about the welfare of my children when they are beyond my constant watchful eye. A safe world would be my biggest dream.

Flowers in the Attic

How you ever read this amazing series of novels by Virginia Andrews? A light read perhaps but the first one touched the core of my heart when I read it as a young girl. I therefore chose this as my favourite book in an entry I did yesterday for the UKS retailers CJ .

Better get gone, lots to do. Bye for now :o)

Mondays....

Mondays are tough don't you think? Today has been incredibly hard to get through, I really needed that extra weekend I asked for yesterday! For a start I found it incredibly difficult to get up, and usually I'm up as soon as I open my eyes! Has someone put something in the water? Since then it has been a monstrous effort to just get through each minute of the day! I must have an early night tonight! Problem is that something seems to happen around 10pm and PING I'm in the wide awake club!

I took some pictures of my new UKS Retailers CJ. Here are a few snippets. Can't post more just in case one of them peeps ;o)

Circle Journals

I'm in two circle journals at the mo, one on my own site with my lovely members, and one with other retailers - we are all UKS sponsors. This weekend I managed to get no less that three entries done for the Charmed Craft Talk circle. No I wasn't late! I had been sent the CJ's early and as I felt in a creative mood this weekend I did them all.

Here's my etry into one, theme for this jounal is "Garden Flowers".

Second one is themed "Friends". Papers used are from the Basic Grey Blush range (love, love, love) I used BG Magnetic Snaps for the closure of the book. Here's a collection of pictures from that LO.

Finally here is the third layout; theme "What makes me smile".

I enjoy the circle journals. Mini layouts are so much fun.
