Boards Of Canada - The Campfire Headphase

The last album that these brothers worked on. It took two years to make. It was recorded on a new studio they built so the sound is totally different from any other BOC record, but its still true, they can work on some incredible sounds that no one seems to have. Its also full sampled acoustic guitars they played so it kinda has more conventional song structures. "We usually imagine our music to have a visual element while we're writing it, so we were picturing this character losing his mind at the campfire and compressing weeks of events into a few hours, in that time-stretching way that acid fucks with your perception" said Michael Sandison. Incredible soundscapes as usual, dreamlike harmonies, spaced out melodies and beats that vary from acoustic to electronic.

This ends my Boards Of Canada blog posts marathon but i do exhort you to look into this duos music and get everything you can because its worth it and its maybe something that might make your days a lot easier to get by. Smoke up in your garden and put these album in full volume because your gonna have a nice experience.

Farewell Fire

Boards Of Canada - Geogaddi

Another eclectic musical work from brothers Michael Sandison & Marcus Eoin Sandison. This album has some pretty dark landscapes of sounds that takes you trough a rare journey of darkness before you reach open air again. Some of the compositions have rhythmic patterns that are not something usual you would hear in an electronic album but it then gives away with some solid beats that make you wanna move and groove. There is a song called 'Gyroscope' that has some samples taken from a number station and sampled from Sean Booth of Autechre. Many tracks in this album and some rare sounds capes. Its true that these brothers know how to collect cool sounds that no one could ever come across and then use it stylishly in a musical sense. 'Julie & Candy' 'Dawn Chorus' and '1969' are highlights in this album so get it and listen good!

Music is Math

Boards Of Canada - In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country

The Scottish brotherly duo make music with electronic beats but with a lot of found sounds and they sample their own instruments. They started doing music together since their childhood but started BOC in the 80`s. Their music has matured in many levels but the harmonic aspect has made an incredible leap towards new grounds that have been unexplored by many. The musical structure is simple since the music normally stays in one section trough out the whole tune, but so many melody patterns and combinations of different melodic instruments makes the whole tune different from start to finish. The beats also vary since both of them have different rhythmic influences. I cant think of anything else to say about these musicians, but i know they would prefer it that way. This is one of their EPs of their lengthy discography and possibly one of their most beautiful works.

'come down and live in a religious community in a beautiful place out in the country'
