Bubble's Birthday!

Evening all,

I hope you're all well?  I had a fab day yesterday, thank you all so much for all your lovely birthday wishes!  Gosh 35 - that seems so old!!  Good job I don't feel it then ay, well not mentally anyway lol!  Hubby and I went to Bluewater and had a delicious lunch in TGI Friday's.  Typically though I didn't find anything that exciting to spend my birthday money on - why is that always the way when you have money to spend?!  But I did buy some gorgeous new PJ's from Marks & Spencer - I do love my PJ's lol!!

Onto my card and this one I made for my Nephew who was 9 years old on Tuesday.  Wow 9 - the years are flying past!!

The LOTV stamp was absolutely ideal for Archie as he is completely hooked on his PS3.  We all went round to see him on Tuesday night and he had some of his school friends round too, did we get to see him.....not likely!!  He spent the whole time upstairs in his room with his mates playing the PS3!  He he he, so my card was perfect for him and he loved it!

Take care all and see you tomorrow...
Big Hugs,

My Favourite 5 of 2010...

Morning all,

I hope everyone had a good New Year's Eve whatever you were doing?  Good job I scheduled my Sketch Saturday post yesterday - man my head hurt lol!!  But a very fun evening  :o)

So as I'm feeling human again today I thought I'd join along with Debby's Favourite 5 of 2010.  You just need to choose your favourite 5 cards (or near to 5 if you can't choose 5!) and post them.  So here are mine in no particular order.....all 10 of them!  (sorry Debby!)

February 2010 - This is Hubby's Valentines Card.  I really like the layout of this one and of course the Penny Black stamp!!

March 2010 - I made this card for my God Mum's Hubby.  I love the Doodlebug papers, layout and colouring on this one, and it reminds me of spring!

April 2010 - I made this one for my friend's daughter.  Again I love the Penny Black stamp and the layout of this one.  It was the first time I put ribbon behind the buttons too and I was really happy with how that turned out.

June 2010 - I love the simplicity of this card and I think the colour scheme is really striking.

July 2010 - This was my first commissioned card for a friend of mine to give to her Sister-In-Law on her 50th birthday.  I was so nervous making it but really happy how it turned out and my friend loved it and asked for more cards!!  Charleston Tilda rocks  ;o)

July 2010 - This is my absolute favourite card of 210 that I made for my Dad for his 60th Birthday.  I used 3 8x8 inch cards to make it and decided on a 'This is Your Life' type card which illustrated some of the major (and silly minor!) events in Dad's life.  It took a whole weekend to make but I really love the result and so did Dad  :o)

September 2010 - This was my 2nd card I made as a Sketch Saturday DT Member.  Sooooo chuffed to be on the Design Team!!  I made it for our best friends who celebrated their 1st Wedding Anniversary and love the layout, papers and Elzybells stamp on this one.

November 2010 - I made this card for another friend's daughter - I love the bunting and especially Pirate Tilda, oo-arrrrrr!

November 2010 - This one I made for my Brother-In-Law, it's a shaker card.  I love 'Fluffy' and was voted a Pollycraft Favourite with this one  :o)

December 2010 - A very recent card of mine and already a favourite!!  I think this stamp is wicked and love these papers (sorry if I've bored you by using them on so many cards - I've even bought more, lol!)

I hope you've enjoyed taking a walk down memory lane with me today.  Looking back at my cards has got me thinking about lighter evenings and warmer weather - roll on spring!  Normally at the start of the year I'm feeling quite down but this year I feel so alive and can't wait for the coming year - I do hope it's a good one...

Lots of love everyone, see you all soon.  I think I'm going to make my first card of 2011!!...

Sketch Saturday Week #132

Morning All,

Well the 'Big Defrost' has begun today and the snow has started to melt.  I don't like the slush, it looks so dirty doesn't it, the snow makes everything look so clean and pretty, lol!  But we had a nice few days with it didn't we - I wonder if we'll have some on Christmas Day?  Actually I'm quite pleased it's started to defrost, we're off on holiday on Monday and I really want to get there!!

Onto my card and this one I've made for a colleague of mine, Westy, who loves his football and supports Liverpool (who play in red, hence the colour scheme of the card!), boooooo!!  He he he!!  I'm a MASSIVE Arsenal fan in case you didn't know, who also play in red so I just pretended it was an Arsenal card I was making, lol!  I used this weeks fabby sketch over on Sketch Saturday for my card and this is what I came up with...

Sketch Saturday Week #129

Morning All,

You must be sooooo bored of me saying it, but I'm going to anyway!...
...YAAAAAAYYYYYY IT'S SATURDAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!
I so love the weekends!!  And this weekend I have some time to craft too, wahoo!!  Well hopefully anyway!!  That's the plan at the moment along with a night out with our best friends tonight and seeing the family tomorrow, oh and a bit of paperwork too, lol!  It's all go isn't it!!

This week has been very busy but also AMAZING for Daemo (hubby) and I and we made a massive step forward with our dream!  If you've read my 'About Me' blurb in the side bar you'll have read that my story into crafting is a very sad one, in that I got into it following our sons stillbirth.  Well the sad times didn't stop there and as it turned out we also discovered due to my very rare blood disorder that Harrison was our one and only chance of having our own child.  And although this was God's will, we still desperately want to become parents!  So our new dream was Adoption which we first investigated and enquired about almost 2 years ago now.  Well this week we made our first step and were invited on a 'Motivation to Adopt' day, which was absolutely BRILLIANT!!  We met some amazing people in similar situations to ours and for once felt relatively normal, lol!  We learnt so much and it really confirmed our thoughts not to give up, that this was most definitely the way forward for us.  Soooooo exciting!!  Fingers crossed we get through to the next stage, we can't wait!!...  :o)))

Onto my card and this week I had an order for an Engagement Card so I tied this in with my Sketch Saturday DT Card and this little beauty was created!  What do you think?...

My friend Maria who ordered the card wanted it for her brother, she was over the moon with it  :o)

And our very generous sponsor of a $25.00 gift certificate is...

How generous!!  So why not join in the fun too?  And you should definitely check out the DT Cards this week - what a talented bunch they are!!

Ok I'm sure that's quite enough of me going on, lol!  Have a fab weekend everyone and I'll see you all again soon  :o)

Much love,

Another Baby Boy Card, aaaawwwwwww!

Hi all,

It's Saturday, wahoooooooooooo!! Which can mean only one thing - there's another FAB sketch to follow over on Sketch Saturday, wahoooooooooooo!! This week we are sponsored by the fantastic Simon Says Stamp, a $25.00 gift voucher is up for grabs and believe me, you will NOT have a problem spending it, lol!! So here's my card (week #2 as a DT Member, whoop whoop!). This one I've made for our bestest friends (and sort of cousins - long story, lol!) who had another baby boy at the beginning of August. We went over to see them last Saturday, aaawwwwww lots of new baby cuddles! Welcome to world Ethan Paul Murphy, MWAH!

Close up Elzybells Baby Teddy, coloured with my Copics and Derwent Coloursoft pencils...

Inside of card, sentiment is also by Elzybells...

Side view of card. You can't really see it (thanks to my rubbish photography skills!) but I sticky fixed the image and the star, then sticky fixed the Baby Teddy again, just to add a little dimension...

The papers I've used are Craftwork Cards - Vintage Rose Essentials (loads of fab new Craftwork Cards papers out at the mo!) which I've layered onto Bazzill Bling card. All the stamps I've used are Elzybells, the Grosgrain Ribbon is by Celebrate at Hobbycraft, the Buttons are all from Papermania, the charm was from my stash (sorry can't remember where!) and I've used my Nesties (stars), Martha Stewart Scallop Dot Border Punch and added Glamour Dust for extra bling!
I absolutely love Elzybells stamps and I'm so, so gutted that the amazingly talented Elizabeth has closed it down :o( I think there are still some bargains to be had though so do pop over and try and get yourself some.

I'll be back at some point over the coming week with another Baby Boy card for you, 3 baby boys all born within about 2 weeks of each other!! I'm desperately missing doing something pink, lol!! So until then, join in the fun at Sketch Saturday...

Lots of love
