Oh Christmas Tree

What a pathetic effort...Boxng Day has less than an hour left, and here I am
still showing you Christmas cards!

These two cards are almost the same, but I still made slight differences, so
as to adhere to my personal policy of not creating two cards the same.
One card was for the wonderful volunteers in the workshop at
the Fort, and the other was for a dear friend in England.

I used one of the techniques I demonstrated at a craft fair in September...
that of applying a peel-off outline sticker to double-sided adhesive
paper, covering the image and surrounding area with ultra-fine
glitter, then colouring the glitter with alcohol markers. It is a
very quick and effective technique, but the incredible
sparkle just does not show in the photos.

Inside the cards was identical.

I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas, and didn't overdo the feasting, as John and I did. We had a very quiet day with just the 2 of us at home all day.

Tomorrow, I will return when I will create my last post with Christmas cards...I promise! I really must get into non-Christmas card-making, as I have lots of birthdays in January, and also a new baby card to make as well.

Thank you for visiting,
Hugs,

White On White Snowflakes

Good evening to all the wonderful, talented crafters out there in blogland.
Also, I hope all the Mums in the UK had a lovely Mothers Day
yesterday. Welcome to my newest followers, Vicky, Chana,
Sarah, Kelly, Marianne and Asha. Thank you for joining
up, and I hope you enjoy your visits to my blog.

I have always loved white on white cards, so I have created a Christmas card
using that style. It is a very simple card and is very similar to one I made
recently (here). So far, I am managing to contribute to my little stock
of Christmas cards...I think I have made 7. I usually send out about
40, so with the way this year is racing away, I had better get a
'wriggle on', or I WILL be having my usual November panic!

The inside of my card is very simple.

Dies - Marianne Snowflake Trio, Spellbinders Labels One, Sullivans Scalloped Border
Embossing - Snowflakes (brand unknown)
Sentiment - free with a magazine several years ago
Stickles - Star Dust

Tonight, we will be 'eating light' because I won a contest at our local University Radio Station, and the prize was a fabulous lunch with 3 other winning couples, and 2 of the announcers. We had a wonderful time, and the meal was superb.

I must go and feed all our pets, and feed and rug our old horse, so until next time, I wish you all "happy crafting".

Hugs,
Jennifer. x

Icy Snowflakes

Good morning to all my crafting friends out there. Although we are into autumn
here, the weather is still hot! Today we are expecting yet another day of
mid 30s, with high humidity. My card today makes me long for some
lovely chilly weather, and to dream of a white Christmas.

I am continuing my attempt to build up a collection of Christmas cards to avoid
that awful panic I inflict on myself in late November and most of December.
This card was fairly quick to produce, so I may make a few more with
slight variations...besides, I have always loved simple blue
and white colour schemes with lots of sparkle.

Inside the card, I have left a large space on which to write
 my personal greetings.

Shine A Light

This week, at Crafty Little Fairies, it is the turn of the Pink Fairies to invite
you all to enter our 'CHRISTMAS IN NOVEMBER' challenge.

Remember you can now use any brand of image you wish, but you must use
an image.
This week our sponsor is Crafty Ribbons, and they are generously offering
a £10 voucher.

I created my card using a sweet Lili of the Valley stamp, Shine a Light.
This is the first time I have used the lovely snowflake border die,
but I was a little disappointed at how the glittered cardstock looks in
the photo. I bought quite a few 12x12 sheets in different gorgeous colours
just before Christmas last year, and used a silver sheet, which showed up
as a dirty grey, and this gold looks quite brown. IRL they are so sparkly,
one almost has to wear sunglasses!

A closer look at this little sweetie. As with the glittered cardstock,
reds never seem to photograph true to colour.

I punched a tiny flower for the poinsettia centre, and added an
even tinier gem. The snowflake die-cut is from the same gold c/s as
the snowflake border.

Inside my card. Although the matting looks brown, it is
definitely red!

Santa's Sleigh

Oh my goodness, tomorrow will be the first day of August. Happy birthday to all horses, and here in Australia it is Wattle Day.

The weeks are just racing by at an alarming rate, and already it is time for
another challenge at Penny's Paper Crafty.
Our theme this week is
'ADD SOME STITCHING - REAL OR FAUX'
We have 2 lovely sponsors this week, and they are
and

I was given this traditional digi image, Santa's Sleigh Silhouette, from Floppy Latte
to play with, as well as the digi paper. The Swiss Dots paper came in six
fabulous colours.
I layered the paper, and adhered it with the base stripes both
horizontally and vertically to create more visual interest. My stitching
is faux, the white drawn with a gel pen, and the sivery grey with a
Zig Pen.
I coloured the moon with a Promarker (Primrose I think), and sponged
the edges of the white panel with Adirondack Denim.
In March, I bought the die for this reindeer from a lady at a stamp camp
I attend twice yearly. She didn't want it...can't imagine why...
I love it. This is the first time I have used it, but I am sure you
will be seeing it quite often in the next few months. That tiny
blue gem fitted perfectly into his eye socket.

Challenges:-
Lexi's Creations - 'Christmas In July'
Stamp And Create - 'Christmas In July'
Cards For Men #15 - 'Christmas In July'
Shopping Our Stash #112 - 'Use Your Oldest Punch'
