Berries

Good evening. I have another Christmas card to show you. This one features an
interesting fold. I think it may be called a faux step card.

I enjoyed making the card base, so I made a few cards using the design, but
with different DSPs. The card folds flat, and fits into a standard C6 envelope.

This angle shows how the card sits for display. I decorated the card inside
to match the front.

Challenges I would like to enter:-
ABC Christmas 'A' and 'B' - I chose ''B' is for Berries'
Peace On Earth Christmas #55 - Mood Board or Anything Christmas Goes
The Holly and Ivy #154 - Anything Christmas Goes (2nd entry)

Dies - Stampin' Up Christmas Cheer; Spellbinder Scalloped Square
DSP - Stampin' Up Painted Christmas
Stamps - Stampin' Up Christmas Banners
Bronze cardstock is from my junk stash

Until next time, thank you for visiting,
Hugs,
Jennifer.  x

Scarlette is Eleven

Hello to all those out in blogland. I hope you are all keeping safe from
this horrendous virus that has changed the world for countless people.

It is two and a half months since I last put anything on my blog, but
I felt I really must rectify that situation, as today is a very special day for
a very special young lady. Yes, it is our dear granddaughter, Scarlette's
11th birthday today. We really can't believe those 11 years have flown
by so fast. After the summer holidays (she lives in London) she will
be starting high school😲...she is growing up too fast.

This is the card I made for her...a very 'girly' card for a very 'girly' girl.
It took many hours, but it was a labour of love. She always opens her
card and gift from us on Skype, and her reaction is worth it. We were
amazed when she panned around her bedroom, as she has all of the
cards I have made her out on display, as part of her 'decor'.

A close-up of the panel with the sentiment, and the
number 11.

Another panel where we wrote our personal
message to Scarlette.

More panels.

One final view of the card showing the concertina effect.

Challenges I would like to enter:-
To be updated

Dies - Spellbinders Scalloped Circle; Cheery Lynn Light Lace Deco Border, Exotic Butterfly; X Cut Delicate Flower and Border; Sweet Stamps Flutterby #2; Cuttlebug 2"x2" Hippy Chick
Paper - First Edition 12"x12" Sweet Owl
Sentiment - Lili Of The Valley
Flowers - most from my stash, but some are created by me

On this cold, wintery night I will be off to bed now to snuggle under the doona.

Stay safe
Hugs,
Jennifer.  xx

Beaded Ribbon

Hello fellow bloggers.

Today I return with my card for the mid-challenge reminder over at
Christmas Craft Creations where I was thrilled to be invited to join
the very talented design team as Guest Designer for January.
The theme this month is Ribbon or Twine.

I have had this technique idea somewhere in the back of my mind for several
years, and the theme of ribbon or twine was the perfect opportunity to work
out how to achieve it.

I am definitely not adept with a needle and thread, so perhaps I was a tad
ambitious. It took me ages to 'fluff' and sew the ribbon to the die-cut, adding
each pearl bead with the stitching. Eventually though, I was finished, and
considering my struggle, including some stabbed fingers (and some
naughty words😮), I was fairly happy with the end result.

Back within my comfort zone, I really enjoyed colouring this
sweet image with my Promarkers.

The greeting is recycled from a store-bought card, and I
shaped the ends of the tag with a very old corner punch.

Challenges I would like to enter:-
Dragonfly Dreams - 'Pearls and/or Gems'
Merry Little Christmas #29 - 'Anything Christmas Goes'
Passion For Markers #576 - 'Buttons and/or Bows'
Let's Squash It!! #4 - 'Embossing Folder and an Animal' (2nd entry) (must show logo)

Image - Magenta Holly Branch
Colouring - Promarkers
Dies - Spellbinders Floral Doily Motifs
Dry Embossing - Stampin' Up Embossing Folder  Softly Falling
Punch - EK Success Corner Punch (I think)
Ribbon and Pearls are from my junk stash

I would like to once again send a big thank you to Charlotte (aka Lady Joyful) and the rest of the Design Team at Christmas Craft Creations for inviting me to join them for the month of January. For the chance to win a lovely stamp set, why not pop over to be inspired by the team, then enter your own 'Ribbon or Twine' creation.

Until next time, thank you for visiting, and stay safe,
Sending virtual hugs,
Jennifer.   xx

I used the 'out-of-the-box' technique to die-cut around the image, as it
is a fairly large stamp.

Bunnies In Love

Good evening to all out there in 'Blogland'. This is my first post for 2021.
We can only hope that this year will be kinder to everyone.

Do you find that while some months contain no, or very few occasions
for which we need to make a card, other months are totally opposite?
Other than for Christmas, January and July are the months where I
need to frantically have my creative juices not flowing, but gushing.😰

I have a couple of very long-term friendships, and this card is for dear friends'
50th wedding anniversary. I met Lyn in 1967 when she started working at
an office where I had worked for a year. We became firm friends, and in
mid 1969, we both commenced our nursing training, during which she met
her lovely John. Graduating in 1972, Lyn and I went our separate ways
geographically, but have always maintained our close friendship,
via emails, snail-mail, and phone calls.

This oh-so-cute image was a doddle to colour, as always with my
Promarkers. I really am so naughty, as I have had this stamp for
several years, and this is the first time it has seen ink!

Challenges I would like to enter:-
2 Crafty Critter Crazies #46 - 'Anything Goes' (must have animal/s)
Crafty Calendar - 'Make It Cute'
Cute Card Thursday #668 - 'Anything Goes'
The Library #74 - 'Pick A Previous Book' (Watership Down)

Colouring - Promarkers
Dies - Spellbinder Classic and Scalloped Rectangles
Punch - Martha Stewart P.A.T.P. set.
Gold foil board - Crafter's Choice

I will be back in a few days with another of the many cards, I have created since New Year. Also, next week I can tell you some exciting news.

Until then, thank you for visiting,
Hugs (socially distanced of course),
Jennifer.  xx

Farewell 2020

Good evening on this final day of what has been a year like no other.
In addition to this horrendous pandemic that has devastated so many
millions of lives, here in Australia we began 2020 with much of our
country experiencing apocalyptic bushfires while still reeling from
the worst drought in recorded history. Floods and hurricane-like
storms then followed at times throughout the year. It's little
wonder that we all can't wait to see the end of 2020.

This is my last Christmas card for this season. The paper is many years old,
but I still love it. I can't remember the maker.

My card features a large greeting by Stampers
Anonymous, designed by Tim Holtz, Doodle Greetings 1.
I tore and sponged around the edges to create a more
vintage look, then coloured the little doodles with Promarkers.

A closer look at the poinsettia, cut with an old Spellbinders die,
its centre of micro beads, the mixed foliage,
and the cute candy cane.

Challenges I would like to enter:-
52 Christmas Card Throwdown - 'Pick a previous 2020 challenge' (November colour challenge 'Red & Green')
ABC Christmas - 'Y your favouite thing/s, or Z zzzzzzzz (sleep). My favourite things for Christmas are poinsettia, candy canes, and lots of greenery.
Crafty Gals Corner #214 - 'Tis the Season'
Double 'D' - 'Poinsettia'

I would like to wish you all a very happy and safer New Year, when hopefully we have banished this hideous virus for all time, and we can once again have contact with our loved ones.

Until next time, thank you for visiting my blog,
Hugs (socially distanced of course),
Jennifer.  xx

Green Chocolate Card/Box

Good Evening.

Recently I showed you a chocolate card/box I made using pink blue, and
silvers. I made 6 of these in all, and while they were all made using the
same template, all are in different colours.

This one is made using a luxurious linen-like paper.

A closer look at my handmade poinsettias, and mixed foliage.

Inside my card/box with the message tag, and a yummy chocolate in situ.

Another close up look at the flowers, and the tiny die-cut sentiment.

Silver Trees

Good afternoon.

At the beginning of this year I made a promise to myself that I would
limit my urge to add lots of goodies to my junk stash. I managed to
keep my promise fairly well, but when I saw this gorgeous 3D
Embossing Folder, my resolve mega-melted!
The E.F. is large, and because it is 3D, the naturalistic layered look of the forest is
fabulous. I LOVE it! I bought that lovely snowflake ribbon about 3 years ago at
a craft show, and decided that it was time to use it.

For my greeting, I used dies from 2 different sets.

The insert of the card has snowflakes punched in each corner, and
I used this rather large peel-off sticker I have had for 'yonks'.

As I'm sure you all know, gold and silver are really difficult to photograph (as is
glitter). I took almost 20 photos from all different positions, but none were fully
successful, so please forgive the quality of my photos.

Challenges I would like to enter:-
Allsorts #600  - Christmas Flowers, Wreaths, Trees
Beccy's Place - Day 23  'T' (Trees)
Cute Card Thursday #662 - Silver or Gold
Double D - Winter Blues   TOP 3
Fezziwigs Festive Frolics - Decorate The Tree

Embossing Folder - Stampin' Up 3D Evergreen Forest
Dies - Cottage Cutz Rustic Scene and Trees; Cheery Lynn Merry Christmas Set; Spellbinders Holiday Sentiments
Ribbon - Craft Queen
Peel-off sticker is from my junk stash

On this boiling hot, record-breaking day I will go outside, and try not to melt while I take my washing off the clothesline.

Until next time, stay safe, and thank you for visiting,
Hugs,
Jennifer.  x

A Merry Little Christmas

Good morning.

My card today has a touch of vintage to it with lots of sponging and,
no surprise, one of my poinsettias.

A closer look at my floral 'arrangement' made with an old
Spellbinders die Layered Poinsettia, and Tim Holtz Holiday Greens dies.

I embossed the Stampers Anonymous Doodle Greetings sentiment
with gold E.P., but the shine does not show in my photos.

Challenges I would like to enter
Beccy's Place - Day 25  'V'  WINNER
Stamping Sensations - 'Christmas Flowers, or Wreaths, or Garlands'

I hope to be back later with another card, so until then, thank you for visiting.
Hugs,
Jennifer.  x

Christmas Lamp

Good evening.

Once again, the lovely Beccy at Beccy's Place is running her 'Month of Holiday
Cards' challenge. This is the 8th year, and runs all of November, with a different
challenge each day. It is a great way to increase one's stash of Christmas cards,
and Beccy is very generous with her digi prizes.

A few days ago the challenge was to create a card using up some of the
pile of 'scraps' we crafters tend to accumulate. I decided to use scraps
of 3 different papers from a 12 x 12 stack I bought 'yonks' ago. I also
used a cute little scalloped punch which I have also had for
'yonks' and have only used twice...MY BAD!

It took me ages to carefully align the squares, so my finished base
would be perfect rectangle, but in the end I was quite happy
with the result.

A close up of the beautiful image, one of Beccy's, which was a joy to
colour with (as usual) my Promarkers.

My greeting is from a sheet of mixed font greetings.
The matt and font are very shiny gold, although they look black.

Challenges I would like to enter:-
Beccy's Place - Day 18 'Scraps'
Colour Crazy #46 - Anything Goes (must be hand coloured)
I Love Promarkers #423 - Anything Goes (with option of 3 layers)
Stinkin' Inkers - Quilting  SPECIAL AWARD
Try It On Tuesday - Traditional Christmas Colours

Image - Beccy's Place 'Christmas Lamp'
Colouring - Promarkers
Dies - Spellbinders Floral Ovals; Classic Ovals
Punch - X-Cut Small Scalloped Square
Paper - Franchville 12 x 12 Stack Christmas Basics
Greeting - Art Stamps Australia

I must be off to bed as we have a big day planned tomorrow, entertaining visitors we have not seen since last Christmas.

Please stay safe in these difficult times, and until next time, thank you for visiting.
Hugs,
Jennifer.  xx
