Mo's Challenge # 68

Buttons, Bows, & Lace!

Cathy is our hostess for the month of February and, of course, the theme is love! Use one of Mo's images that pictures love of any kind, dress it up with buttons, lace, and a bow and enter this week's challenge for a chance to win an image from Mo's store.

I  have used an image that shows the love between siblings. It really does exist, but doesn't show itself often, unfortunately! This image captures one of those rare moments. An African American version is also available.

Tools: Copics, Mounting Tape, Glue dots, Wire, Tacky tape

Papers: SU! Rose Romance and Pretty in Pink, Neenah smooth white, Recollections DP

Embellishments: Buttons, Grosgrain ribbon, Lace trim.

So, conjure up something that speaks of love and enter Mo's Challenge for a chance to win!

 A Few More Valentines!

I colored up several images over the past few days and have been going wild with Valentine's Day cards.  I just can't seem to stop! LOL!

This first one uses an image from Make it Crafty. It's called "Geeky Love".  I think it's adorable and was so much fun to color!
My sewing machine was giving me fits...the thread kept tangling and breaking. It finally just started to act right, so I still don't know what was wrong with it.

Tools: Copics, Prismacolor pencils, Martha Stewart punches, Sewing machine, Glue Dots, Tacky Tape, UTEE, VersaMark pad, Heat gun

Embellishments: Gingham ribbon, Flowers, Chipboard heart (colored with Copic marker, pressed into VersaMark pad, coated with UTEE, and heat embossed. Thanks, Sheila!)

For the Guys

For this card,  I used a free image that I got from Designed to Delight when I participated in a recent blog hop. It's now available for sale.
The little heart charm was yellow enamel....I colored it red with a Copic marker. Gotta love those Copics!

Inside it says, "Honey, You are my best catch ever! Happy Valentine's Day!"

Another free image...this time from Tiddly Inks. It's now available for sale.

If you look closely at the rocks I've displayed with this card, you can see that one of them has a funny little face on it. Years ago, my father and I were walking on Rye Beach, here in New Hampshire, and he just reached down and picked it up. He'd spotted the little face looking up at him. He's been gone for several years now, but I still have that funny little rock.

Merry Christmas!

My Very Last Christmas Card for 2010!

I realized that I had one more card to make this year. I had made pouch boxes to put money gifts in, but came up one short. I had this adorable little bear all colored up, so I've used him instead of making another pouch.
This is one of Rick Dennis's wonderful little bears. He has such a sweet face and so much personality. Rick does adorable bunnies and other animals, too. You'll see more of them in the spring!
Rick is looking for more members for his design team. (I'm already a member.)  It's a six month commitment with only one project required per month. Check out his blog for more information if you're interested. Also check out his Etsy shop to see more of his images.

Sentiment from Ladybug and Friends

Tools: Copics, Prismacolor pencil, Cuttlebug with Nesties, MS Branch and Snowflake punches, Nellie Snellen Embossing leaf punch set, Crystal Effects, Line tape, Glue dots

Mo's Challenge #58

Punch it!

The challenge this week is to use three punches on your creation. This wasn't a difficult one for me...I think I have at least a gazillion punches! I really am obsessed with them!

I'm sorry if this picture's a bit washed out. I didn't get this card done until after sundown tonight and had to use a flash instead of the natural light that I prefer.

I used "Employee # 3355" from Mo's set of two adorable little Christmas elves. I had to have this set as soon as I saw it (but then,  I 'have to have' all of Mo's images!). They have such personality and are such fun to color!
I used Nellie Snellen's  embossing leaf set to make the poinsettias. The leaves were glued on to a small circle of CS and finished with paper stamens

Images: "Employee # 3355" from Mo's Digital Pencil , Digital  "Merry Christmas" (unknown)

Tools: Copics, Prismacolor pencil, White gel pen, MS Branch and Snowflake punches, Nellie Snellen embossing leaf punch set, Glue Dots

Papers: SU! Real Red, Garden Green, Green Galore, and Certainly Celery CS, Neenah smooth white, Basic Grey "Jovial" DP

Embellishments: Gold and Pearl cabochons, Paper stamens, Natural cotton lace

The Three Bears at Christmas

Here's another card using the same poinsettias. The sweet bears are a free digital from Cuddly Buddly. They were easy to color. I think multiples of this card would be a snap to make, although I only make a card once.  Mass-producing would bore me to death!

Images: Bears from Cuddly Buddly,  Free digital sentiment from Zany Not Crazy
Tools: Copics, White gel pen , Gold metallic pen, Nellie Snellen Leaf set

Paper: SU! Real Red, Glorious Green, Garden Green CS, Neenah smooth white, Paper Pizazz  DP

Embellishments: Red pearl cabochons, Paper stamens

Let's see how well you can punch! We want to be "knocked out" by your beautiful creations using three punches and one of Mo's  great images!

Thanks for visiting!

Mo's Challenge # 47

Browns and Cream

Paola is our hostess for the month of September, and she's asked us to use shades of brown on our projects this week. I'm not all that fond of browns, so this was a difficult challenge for me! I love bright colors and really had to fight the urge to use other colors along with the shades of brown. With that said, this is my DT card for this week. I was a good girl and did as I was told. LOL!
I used Mo's image, "Missed You". I just love the look on the mama bear's face.....I think any mother can relate to what she's feeling!
This time, for a change, I colored the main image entirely with Prismacolor pencils. The Stamped mushrooms are colored with Copics, though.
Inside it says," Sending you hugs on your birthday!"

Images: "Missed You" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Mushrooms from Magnolia, Computer-generated sentiment.

Tools: Prismacolor pencils, Copics, Martha Stewart Branch border punch, SU! slot punch, Mounting tape

Papers: Bazzill Dark brown textured paper, SU! Creamy Caramel, Digital paw print DP, PTI White

Embellishments: Satin Ribbon, Heart Charm

Hop on over to Mo's Challenge Blog and check out the other DT members' cards, then enter a card or project for a chance to win one og Mo's wonderful images.!

Waitin' on the Dock!

This is a merge of two of Mo's images: the little sister from Bethy's Wagon set and the barrels from her Pirate Accessories set. I took some artistic license and 'erased' the X's on the big barrel. I didn't want it to look as if she were sitting on a barrel of rum!

Images: Barrel and little sister from Mo's Digital Pencil

Tools: Copics, White gel pen, Cuttlebug with embossing folder and Nesties, Circle punch (for roses), Nellie Snellen embossing leaf punch set, Flower Soft, Glue Dots, Mounting tape

Papers: SU! Dusty Durango, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin Pie, Going Gray, Always Artichoke, PTI white, Basic Grey DP

Embellishments: Grosgrain ribbon, Hand-made roses and daisies

More Digital Artists

It's no secret that I love digital images! Mo's are still my absolute favorites...her images are so well drawn, and so full of personality! You can feel their emotions coming right off the page. Nothing else can touch her designs, in my opinion.
Every once in a while, though, I venture out to see what other artists have to offer.

Isabella's Sketchbook

This card uses an image from an artist fairly new to the digital scene. It's from Isabella's Sketchbook. Check it out. You're sure to find something you like!
Of course, the image is colored using Copics. I used my Cuttlebug and Swiss Dot embossing folder on the large white panel and to cut out the image panel using one of the new Spellbinder label dies.
The lacy panel was done with the Martha Stewart Punch-Around-the-Corner Eyelet Lace set. I don't like the fact that the panels can only be certain sizes, so I cut and over-lapped it to make it narrower. The ribbon and bow hides the seam nicely.
I picked up the daisy trim about a year ago, but this is the first time I've used it!
The white daisy in the upper corner was made using one of the new Nellie Snellen Punch and Emboss flower sets. I got mine at 7 Kids College Fund. They are a great idea, but very hard to punch! I actually stepped on it to get it to go through the CS! The embossing step isn't any easier...I found that dampening the CS gives a better impression. I finished the daisy off with some ribbon leaves and a single daisy cut from the trim. Another one decorates the bow.

Meljen's Designs

Melissa Jenkins has some very sweet images. This teddy bear Thank You is
one of several designs available as a free download to members of her PCP group.
The Copic and CS colors I used were again taken from the Basic Grey DP. The SU! card stock is Dusty Durango, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, and Wild Wasabi.
My Nesties weren't big enough, so the circle was cut using the Creative Memories cutting system. The lace trim is computer paper punched with the Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace punch. I snipped it along the bottom so that  it would more easily adhere to the back of the circle with 1/8" ScorTape. I glued some green twine around the circle edge using Crystal Effects for a more finished look.
Some Prima daisies, a brad, pearl cabochons and a bright turquoise bow pretty it up.
